Maharashtra Police is extensively using ideaForge drones for surveillance during lockdown in densely populated area of Mumbra.
Maharashtra Police Officer has this to say:
For the last 2 days, we have been giving instructions through the ideaForge megaphone drones. Earlier, police used to go to every small street for patrolling and once the police leaves, people used to come back and gather around
People used to come out of their houses without any reason or for any small work by lying to the police. But now, drone surveillance is going on. with the help of that, we could able to surveil the 2 km of area
If any person is going out unnecessarily, then by locating him on the screen from here we are able to instruct him to go back home. We are getting a good response from the citizens
If we see people gathering on the terrace or standing outside the building, we instruct them to go inside their home with the help of megaphone drone and they listen to us immediately
If people are not following the instructions even after the announcing repeatedly, then we will take strict actions against them. but thankfully, no such cases reported so far. Also, we have recordings of every person on this ground control system
