FLAWS: part 10 Ketzel99 2018-08-29 | Wow its been a long time since I put out a map part! lately I've been consumed with a lot of other projects that have really taken a lot of my attention away from map parts. first of all I was kinda tired of always doing them while I was in school and secondarily I didn't see any benefit cause my demo reel already had a lot of cat content and I those were the only maps that seemed to be worth while to join. but I realized a couple of problems with that mentality. first of all my previous map parts will only get older so I need to create more animation keep my skills sharp, and when I do more cat content I can replace the old cat content with it! yay! needless to say this probably isn't going in a demo reel unless its an after affects demo reel cause this part is nothing without its compositing. the second reason I haven't been doing many map parts is because I've been doing a ton of commissions! if your interested hit me up on my email at: True_stamp@hotmail.com this was mostly a test to see what kind of map part I could do using puppet animation! its not like.... super fantastic showing of it but I sorta just wanted it to be quick and I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and just biting the bullet. I need more puppet animation on my demo reel so realistically I can't afford to do much traditional animation for map parts if I want a job. practice makes perfect baby! New Prophecy OP part 15 Ketzel99 2018-03-26 | Finally finished this map part! It was a long time coming and I encountered a lot of trouble on the way which made the process longer. First of all, I had a lot of other projects and shots that had a higher priority. second of all the shot composition was really tricky for this. I didn't realize it until it was too late but it meant I had to animate the background along with the character. Vines - Senior Film - Final Version Ketzel99 2018-02-03 | Its finally here! The full final version of my senior film from my time at SCAD, Vines! A super big thanks to my two roommates and Simply misty for help with backgrounds! And of coarse, Jo Swenson for the wonderful original score! Vines was a really great learning experience. Unlike most films in production I never felt like I was off schedule over the coarse of its production even though all the animation and compositing was done by myself. I think the reason for all that was I was decidedly unambitious. I got the tip from a senior whose film I was working on that its really the wisest to shoot for a film thats about a 1:30 and boy was I glad I did. Most importantly I wanted the film to be 2D rigged to not only simplify the film by not needing clean up but also put my skills with Harmony animating to the test. End of the day I really wish I had done a lot of things differently with the rig, animation, and story, but I'm proud that I got something so completely finished done with only the help of a small handful of people. In the future I want to use this experience to increase my skills in Harmony animating and focus more on polish. Vines - Senior Film - Version 2 [Animatic] Ketzel99 2018-01-15 | Here's the next round of progress with my senior film! this time is the second version of the animatic, this time with the final music composed by the brilliant Jo Swenson!Link to original concept: youtube.com/watch?v=j0qS8tJQDQ4This version borrows a lot of the same story beats but instead is changed to have the main character be a regular feral cat rather than an anthropomorphized cat. Also rather than vines that come to life is a magical bird instead! However the trade off is that the title of the film no longer made sense.
