Kettlebell workouts are increasing in popularity as the benefits of kettlebell exercise are becoming better understood. While barbells are great for creating the adaptations of max strength and hypertrophy, they are less well suited to other fitness adaptations such as strength-endurance, power-endurance, or even fascia training which may well be the cause of the "what the hell effect". On the other hand, kettlebells are great for these adaptations, especially the ballistic kettlebell movements. Exercises such as the kettlebell swing, snatch, and clean develop the posterior chain in an explosive manner at sub-maximal weights. This tends to cause profound changes in the capabilities of the body and the way people feel in their bodies.

The dead hang is an immensely popular tool for posture correction and shoulder and back health. There is no denying it's value as it has been tried and tested by millions of people. However, it's popularity has overshadowed other forms of bar hanging that often better for posture and biomechanical health. The possible dangers of dead hanging have also been glossed over, leaving many to learn the hard way.
In this video I cover all the main postures and postural distortions commonly seen (upper cross, lower cross, forward head posture, anterior pelvic tilt, posterior pelvic tilt, sway back posture, and lateral hip hike) as well as the best bar hanging variations and strategies for each.
By choosing the right hang for you, you can create better posture, experience neck pain relief, shoulder pain relief, back pain relief, and find yourself standing taller than before.
There are better hanging exercises than the dead hang, and this video will help find the right hanging strategy for your specific posture.

The video is loaded with supplementary exercises such as the radial pull up, russian dip, skin the cat, and many others. Follow this beginner friendly path as it's been laid out in this video and you will complete your first muscle up quickly. Though don't forget to enjoy the journey, it only happens once.

The mid-back and upper back regions are where the thoracic spine is found and where damage to this portion of the spine usually tends to create pain. However, pain from the thoracic spine can also radiate around the rib cage and can even be felt in the chest or down the arms. This is often due to pressures put on the spinal nerves from either poor thoracic posture or from a bulging (herniated) disc.
In this video we discuss the following.
What is the thoracic spine? What is it meant to do? What injuries are common in the thoracic spine? What good thoracic posture and mobility look like? What dysfunctional thoracic postures are there? How to increase thoracic mobility and relieve pain?

Chaos training is a modality of strength training that incorporates elements of instability and chaos such as unstable surfaces, shifting resistance, or other unpredictable forces which the body must contend with. Some training modalities that would fit within the umbrella term "chaos training" would include balance training, offset load training, sand bag training, muscle confusion, perturbation training, instability training, etc...
This type of training is great for creating greater stabilization in the joints, which is why its often used as prehab and rehab. It's also been used extensively to increase proprioception and to improve exercise form.

There are hundreds of well-known core and abdominal exercises and thousands more if you really go digging for them. This often leads to some confusion about the best way to train the abs in a wholistic and functional manner, especially if you're also looking for aesthetic improvement.
In this video we go over what are the basic requirements for a functional, well shaped and aesthetic core and then give the mover's odyssey opinion of what the best single workout to hit these requirements is. This exercise (the ab rollout and its variations) is a classic ab exercise that is easy to learn, cheap to perform (you only need an ab wheel or suspension trainer like gymnastic rings) and if performed and progressed properly, can reap rewards for a lifetime. This exercise can target not only the upper and lower abdominals, but also the obliques, the serratus anterior and the transverse abdominis (the only muscle that can truly shrink the waist line ).

Non-weighted jump ropes are great for tricks and conditioning, but for body transformation nothing beats a good weighted jump rope with the weight in the rope itself, as opposed to in the handles.
Jump rope is an excellent builder of athleticism, both in terms of ankle explosiveness and in terms of full body coordination.
Jump rope is a powerful tool thats been heavily utilized by boxers to increase athleticism, lose weight and build endurance.

Pull ups are considered a vertical pulling exercise, largely targeting latissimus muscles and biceps. However, there is one variation of pull ups that is not only a vertical pull, but also a horizontal pull, much like rows. This pull up, known as the Gironda pull up, targets not only the lats and biceps, but also the muscles of the upper back. It also employs the active arch hang position which is so healthy for the shoulders and great for scapular control and shoulder mobility. This is especially healing for the slouching shoulder posture.

The squatting bar reach is a mobility drill often utilized to help restore squat mobility, improve posture and stretch the glutes and back. A bonus is that this helps to correct a postural issue that shows up as a bulging lower abdomen. This mobility drill is simple and can be added to an existing warm up routine to great effect.

The brain dictates what percentage of muscle fibers can be used at will. This is a protective mechanism to ensure that the joints are not damaged by utilizing too much strength at once. Muscle spindles and golgi tendon organs supply the brain with the sensor data that allow it to determine what level of strength is appropriate for each situation. Stories of hysterical strength in which mothers lift cars off their children are examples of these protective mechanisms being overridden, allowing the body temporary full access to the individuals strength capacity. In this video, 4 different methods of increasing the conscious activation of muscle fibers (motor unit recruitment) are investigated.

Glutes can become deactivated due to a number of misalignments, restrictions or just lack of use. In this video are some tips and techniques for reactivating and better utilizing the gluteal muscles.
Glutes are the powerhouse of the body, providing a bulk of the muscular effort in nearly all athletic activities. Healthy glutes are also rated as among the most attractive physical attributes by both men and women.
Dead butt syndrome is a neurological in which control of the glutes has largely been shut down due to tight hip flexors or lack of use.
Club training creates a number of unique physiological changes to the cartilage, muscle and connective tissues of the shoulders and upper body.
Indian clubs are great for mimicking functional shoulder movements such as throwing and tool wielding.
