With the help of Karimah, her werewolf friend, Nikolas, a travelling Minotaur, and Yu, a mysterious Qilin, Pip traverses the globe in hopes of slaying the beast that is hellbent on laying waste to Percaerul.--I figured now would be a good time to introduce everyone to my second story and PMV series, Coldhearted! This is a story I’ve been brainstorming since early last year and I’m really excited to share it with you guys! The video itself was kind of impromptu but I’d rather have this than boring slide credits.It’s kind of obvious but yeah, I acquired After Effects again and I finally taught myself how to use it. I learned it all in a couple of days! Not too shabby, eh? Special thanks to Crowfolly and Iro Rautatiski and their OVERGROWTH and Kaarnen Herra series respectively for giving me inspiration on the editing techniques and overall feel of the opening. Some aspects of this opening will change over time, like character designs, overall art, etc. I’m still figuring out conceptual and plot stuff for this series.The casting call will go up in a few days. Long time no real video, huh? I planned for this PMV to be a lot more ambitious, but due to spoiler-y content (TRIO’s only on chapter two right now, haha) I cut the initially two-minute run time to one minute and fifteen seconds. In addition, I’m horrendously busy at the moment and don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to for-fun stuff. Hopefully that’ll change once classes and personal stuff settles down around August or so.I made this thing in two days as a way to build up my drawing stamina again. Yup. Two whole days.I plan to make an even bigger TRIO PMV that deals with the actual plot when it kicks off. Currently, chapter three, which is where the real plot begins, will be uploaded on August 3rd. Chapters come out on the third of every month, so keep your eyes peeled!The color palettes in this PMV are a callback to the novel’s cover and the failed experiment of a comic’s first few pages, respectively. As you might have noticed, I may or may not have gotten back into Warriors. xDSatisfied Squirrelflight and Leafpool MAPHEY GUESS WHAT MAP I GOT A PART IN KINDA OUTTA LUCK. I was moving towards hiatus when this MAP came out so I never asked for a part initially, but I’m glad I have one now! The final shot is subject to change.Courage Ravenpaw MAPI did this storyboard while I was still using TVPaint so it’s a little messy. Just Ravenpaw looking freaked out while some big ol’ Rotties traverse the forest.You’re Just Jealous Ivypaw and Dovepaw MAPI really loved the idea and voice acting for this MAP so I had to join it! TRIO’s story has been five years in the making, with some characters’ creations dating even farther back than that, and the time has finally arrived to begin releasing the main story to the public! This tale attempted to take the form of an animated series, but life got in the way, and it is now a book! Follow Luna, Madrone, and Keith, a pack of young dogs, as they discover that much more than just freedom lies in wait beyond their comfortable territory.This is the first scene of the entire novel, in visual form! I used the lineless style that’s also seen in the Prologue’s illustrations. I didn’t have a ton of time to work on this video (I wanted to get it done before midterms, and there should be a proper notification that the book’s beginning to update), so I sort of had to resort to this simplistic art style in order to finish this thing. All in all, I think the style fits the video perfectly. Special thanks to Illbringyoudown and her series Pandora’s Choris for inspiration for the video’s style and formatting!While TRIO is no longer animated (for the most part--there will be animated/drawn snippets and PMVs/AMVs from time to time!) its spirit is still rooted in the animation community that’s grown so large since 2012, when I first thought of the story. This one was waaaay overdue and I’m really, really sorry for that. I’m going to try and cut down on MAPs and memes and all that stuff and focus on getting TRIO out and work on my animation reel/portfolio. My next part will feature more humans than just Karimah, lol.This part was done for VFX practice! Fire, lightning, energy, all that good stuff. I don’t have too much experience animating that kind of thing and I think it came out alright. Congealed won’t be animated, but it’s good to learn how to animate all this stuff anyways. Sorry some of the character animation isn’t that stellar, my animation muse and stamina left me halfway through working on this.In this little snippet (that most likely isn’t a canon scene), the main crew--Pip, Karimah, Yu, and Nikolas--face off against the very Dragon they’ve journeyed so far to slay. He’s big, he’s mean, and he’s not going down without a fight. Thankfully, the found family of four have practiced their magic together so that they’re able to combine their different elements (Ice, Shadow, Thunder, and Plantlife) to create a force field so strong it can deflect the Dragon’s powerful flame!I hope this follows the theme of the MAP! I will. I'm gonna. I did.Yeah, I know. I probably should’ve waited till Handlebars and TFA are done, but this call has been done since the beginning of the month and self control isn't something I'm known for. They're both on the brink of completion will only two parts left, so expect them soon! I’ve always wanted to use an AURORA song in a video, and I’ve been pining for a MAP that focuses on atmosphere. So...Say hello to my newest MAP, Nature Boy! This MAP’s basic idea is to emphasize backgrounds, color, mood, and atmosphere. I believe that not enough animators get experience from that in MAPs. There are MAPs focusing on character animation, so why not one that focuses on backgrounds? We all need some extra practice with those pesky landscapes.RULES:-The most important rule is that this MAP is background and atmosphere-oriented. I want fine detail in the backgrounds, a good range of colors, and NO CLOSE-UPS of characters. That means no extreme close-ups of eyes or heads. The entire body of the character must be featured in most of the shots.-Not a ton of animation is required for this MAP. I’m glad I don’t have to work on it anymore. :’) Once 2017 starts, I won’t be taking that many MAP parts. I just don’t have the time to work on them anymore.This is for my pal Richie’s last MAP! Even before I joined the MAP community I’d watched her MAPs; they were so ahead of their time. Vladimir Grustov remains one of my favorite MAPs, ever. So glad to not only be a part of that one, but of this one, too! I got the first part, so I wanted it to look as smooth as possible. The result? Over 200 individual frames of character animation and those backgrounds. Whoops.I played around with the multiplane camera a bit. Nothing too special, but I think it turned out nicely. Wheee panning shots!Here we have the Trio--Luna, Madrone, and Keith--crossing a steep creek that might appear familiar once the Prologue is officially released. What do they see beyond it? Chapter One will reveal the answer! I played around with how they individually animated, and tried to show their personalities without any dialogue. This part might feel a bit more emotional and adventurous than the rest, but to the Trio, adventure is their tranqulity. They can have their quiet moments, but I didn’t want to animate that. I wanted to offer this MAP some energy!Another little thing: Luna’s color scheme changed a little bit. Her collar tag is now silver, and her eyes are blue-brown rather than blue-red. It’s kinda hard to tell though since this is sort of a pastel color-centric MAP lol. Also the Trio disappear for like half a frame for some reason at the end??? Ugh After Effects you suck.My New Year’s video will also be TRIO-themed, and in late January, the Prologue and Chapter One will hopefully be up! Stay tuned :D

I was gonna make an original meme but it's kind of complicated and I couldn't finish it in a day like I wanted, so I made this instead. I'll make the original meme later, gotta work on Trio now. *picks nose*I really would have liked to pull a unique twist on this meme, which is otherwise very lovely in its own right, but nothing was coming out right animation-wise so I played it safe. This is basically a carbon copy of Finch and Ozzy's versions. Sorry guys!Since nothing that interesting happens in the video I might as well explain its context: Pip is actually a user of ice magic, one of the most dangerous forms of magic in her universe, known for corrupting the hearts of its users, turning them "cold" and otherwise emotionless. Ice magic is very painful to use despite being powerful, and slowly creeps up along the body and corrupts it. Pip, however, loves the feeling of the magic, because she knows the stronger she becomes, the more capable she is of exacting revenge on the Dragon. Yup, she appears to be a sweet and innocent character, but her whole motivation in her story, Congealed, is to slay the Dragon by herself. Handlebars Part 18 [REMADE] Shilly Archive 2016-05-01 | Yyyyep I remade another MAP part. Again. This is my reputation now.Okay but like I kinda-sorta broke one of my own rules with my last HB part: no gore. You could SAY torn throats isn't gore, what with 90% of the animation community having drawn torn throats before, but I count it as such. I'm dumb. lolThe Dragon (that's what he calls himself, as he is one of the last of his kind), in Pip's story, which is now called Congealed and will probably be a mini-series of some sort if I have the time, takes revenge on a gryphon village for hunting down his species into near extinction. The gryphons, whose intelligence and technological superiority rivals the likes of humans in this universe, are unaware of the Dragon's existence because of his dormancy. A small, ice magic-practicing gryphon named Pip is out for the day, and stumbles upon a gruesome sight...I literally almost linked the Sendspace again. I have the brain size of a stegosaurus' tail.

Okay, it's not really an opening like I said, it's more of a promotion for the series before I release the casting call, just to give you guys a taste of what the series will be like. Fun, action-packed, with lovable idiots as the main characters. This will play at the end of episode 1 and the beginning of episode 2.The characters of Nikita (the rottweiler) and Shark (the shar-pei mix) are the only other characters I will disclose.
