When I completed "Whip It!" I promised myself that I would never aim to release a MAP on a holiday ever again due to the strict deadlines and stress involved.
I clearly lied to myself, but with great results! This is my most quickly completed MAP since my first, which also happened to be to some Heroes of Might and Magic music. Mystical qualities, perhaps?

I have been an avid Heroes of Might and Magic player for longer than I can remember, and I've yet to complete any campaigns, yet I hold the game and its music near and dear to my heart. Before I listened to the Heroes Orchestra's cover of the Necropolis Castle's theme, I hadn't truly appreciated it as a song or as an in-game faction. The music has a sort of poetic prose to it and tells a vivid story of turmoil and hatred and eventual eternal rest.

The Last Unicorn follows Bluestar, from her meeting with Rusty to her death, and the hardships that face her, resulting in the loss of, but, eventual regaining of, her faith.

When I came up with this script while taking a walk during my newfound free time in March 2020, I never could have imagined the warmth and passion brought to this project by so many. To everyone who lent any sort of hand in the making of this project, thank you.

The Last Unicorn was born out of my love for the movie of the same name, based on a book by Peter S. Beagle. If you have a chance, please watch and/or read!

This MAP was, of course, heavily inspired by the introductions for the Netflix Original "Disenchantment", created by Matt Groening. The introductions show scenes from the upcoming episode in mainly monochrome pallets with just little enough detail that you can't figure out the spoiler until it hits in the show, so that's what we went for in this MAP! Participants were prompted to spoil their stories, but be vague about it!

💀 BRINGING US HOME 💀 Halloween Warriors MAP part 4a

elriq 2021-10-31 | HALLOWEEN MAP MARATHON GO GO GO

Script: In the first verses the kits finally arrive in a clearing, in which Brokenstar is in the middle (he's also confused trying to figure out where he is) the kits start looking at him angrily.
It's a more challenging part because I want the last two verses you intersperse between 2 scenes, one is the kits who are singing and glitching between the designs (you can alternate between the design 4 to 3 with a glitch effect or something) and the other the camera is coming out of the kits and quickly approaching Brokenstar and when it's really close from Brokenstar, he closes his eyes and the screen goes black; (Note: Brokenstar is scared/confused)

1. Parts with a black background in the call must have a black background in your part, for white background parts, use white backgrounds! For black background parts, Hollyleaf MUST have a spotlight on her
1a: For black bg parts, use warmer and more saturated colors for spotlights. For white bg parts, use cooler and softer colors.
1b: Try to use a color you identify with!
1c: You may put overlays/shading on Hollyleaf, just make sure she's still recognizable
2:This MAP is more focused on emotion and expression than motion!
3. ONLY part 11 *may* use Ashfur's murder!! EVERY OTHER PART must use something else. It doesn't even have to be addressed in the books! You could use something like idk Hollyleaf dealing with relationship drama.
3a. This is a vent map!! She can be dealing with anything you want!!! (just please do not get too graphic)

elriq 2021-07-24 | I finished part 16 then saw that 20 was open and JUMPED. ANYWAY! that's FOUR weeks of mythology/myth-adjacent MAP parts, and im out of myth things to do. I played 12 hours of Hades yesterday. Send help. Don't.
Nobody found it but in part #16, the very beginning of the shot with Hollyleaf and Leafpool has Thanatos's butterfly hidden in it! This part also has a hades reference in it, but it's on screen a LOT longer than the butterfly! Good luck!

I bought Hades in mid-May and I haven't known peace since (/pos) and I managed to start and finish it (for the first time) in about 45 days (91 escape attempts, current highest heat 5, I am not a clever man).
Yknow how kids get to pick a path, Dinosaur Kid, Egypt Kid, Space Kid, or Greek Myth Kid? I opened Hades and everything came back full force.
