Fin Olsen & Erhard Bauschke, Fuzzy Wuzzy. Berlin 1939 danishjazz 2010-12-28 | Fin Olsen (1914-2003) was a Danish dancer, actor and singer. He only made one record in Denmark but a handful in Germany during his stay in Berlin 1939, all with the Erhard Bauschke Orchestra. This one has, as far as I know, never been issues in Germany on the Grammophon label, but was only made for export on the Polydor label. There have been said, guessed and written many things about Fin Olsen, but the only source you can trust is the story told by Knud Wolffram in the cd-booklet 'Jeepers Creepers' Erhard Bauschke und sein Orchester, folge 2. Pumpkin Pie Records 01903. Wolffram flew over to New York and interviewed Olsen, just one year before he died. I had the opportunity to speak to Fin Olsen by phone a few times and I also got some letters from him. But with 60 years in the states he almost had forgotten the Danish language and he couldn't understand that no one in Denmark remembered him anymore. As he said, 'After all I am Danish'
