Zephalto
Zephalto - Teaser
updated
On october 11th, 2024, Zephalto achieved a historic performance with our latest flight ascending to 6000 meters in a pressurized capsule lifted by a reusable hydrogen balloon.
Our skilled pilots, including our founder Vincent Farret d'Astiès, reached an altitude of 6000 meters before gliding through the sky for 5 hours. Departing from the airfield in Albi, this flight is not only a historic one but also serves as a strategic proof of concept, a demonstrator aimed at validating Zephalto's technology and its capability for flights.
Finally, reaching this altitude helped us contribute to scientific research by conducting experiments on greenhouse gases, a long-term goal for our company.
We’d like to extend our thanks to the partners that made this flight possible :
La Région Occitanie, la Mairie d'Albi, GROUPE MAGELLIM, CNES, M CAPITAL, Expansion, Airbus Développement, Bpifrance
Get an exclusive look at the meticulous preparations for Zephalto's stratospheric flights, made possible by our capsule “Lucy”. Designed for unprecedented stratospheric journeys, co-piloted and lifted by a reusable hydrogen balloon, Lucy represents a major step forward in high-altitude travel.
What Makes Lucy Special:
🔹 Precision Engineering: Advanced altitude control systems for smooth and accurate navigation.
🔹 Enhanced Safety: Most advanced oxygen support in oxygen support, pressure maintenance, and communication systems to ensure EASA's stringent standards.
🔹 Innovative Research: Collaboration with CREST and GSMA for groundbreaking atmospheric studies.
Safety is our top priority. Numerous test flights with Lucy ensure the highest levels of safety and security for our commercial and scientific missions. Lucy's ongoing missions continually validate and enhance our technology, underscoring our commitment to safe and sustainable stratospheric travel.
