Today I'm looking at, what I consider, to be the Top 5 craziest animated scenes. These were chosen to be specifically 2D, from traditionally animated films or live action scenes that contained 2D drawn elements. Sorry to all you 3D or claymation fans, maybe we'll get to those later.

Marvel recently put out a surprise Halloween special Werewolf by Night on Disney Plus. Based off of the classic horror comics, it's presented in black and white and has the cozy feeling of an old Universal Monster monster movie. I liked it, but was taken aback a little because it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. So let's get into it!

Today I'm talking about Halloween Ends, the final chapter in the new Halloween trilogy. Directed by David Gordon Green, Jamie Lee Curtis and Michael Myers go at it for the last time. So, how does Halloween “END”? Is it the fulfilling conclusion that we needed? Or does it end in the toilet... you don’t wanna know. But if you do, here’s what I think at least.

Today I want to celebrate Roger Corman, one of those most prolific filmmakers of all time. Few people have made as many films as Roger Corman and when you think low budget exploitation film, he’s the king. So today we honor the king! Director of over 50 movies and producer of more than another 500, Roger Corman has contributed so much to the film industry and is someone I think more people in the mainstream should know about.

This is episode 204 of the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN)! When it comes to movie-based games, you’d think The Nerd covered them all by now, but here’s another one based on the Bruce Willis film, Hudson Hawk on NES. The movie is a bit of a mixed bag, so lets see what kind of "bag' the game is! Released by Sony Imagesoft in 1991 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, you play as the titular Hudson Hawk (Willis), the world's greatest thief, who is forced to steal three of Da Vinci's precious artifacts by the Mario Brothers Mafia. The movie also starred Danny Aiello, Andie MacDowell, Richard E. Grant, and Sandra Bernhard.

Usually I talk about movies, but for this occasion I'll celebrate the TV shows I love, old and new. With so many genres of shows to choose from, I'll just focus on 5 shows I love, not necessarily the top shows in any particular order. What are some of your favorite TV shows?

I always liked funny movies, but there was a time when there existed a level ABOVE funny. Movies that were outrageous. The king of that genre was Mel Brooks. He's influenced so much of our humor today and I recently read his memoir "All About Me", so I figured it's about time for Cinemassacre to pay tribute to him!

Top Gun: Maverick is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Tom Cruise returning as Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. Set 36 years after the original 1986 film, Maverick returns to the Navy's Top Gun program to train a new class of young pilots, including the son of his deceased best friend Goose, "Rooster" (Miles Teller). Maverick must not only confront his past, but also prepare the new pilots for mission that seems impossible. Also starring Jennifer Connelly and Val Kilmer returning as "Iceman".

This is episode 202 of the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) and The Nerd is talking Contra! After years of playing nothing but crappy games, The Nerd's dreams are fulfilled through a wish on a monkey's paw, allowing him to finally play something good. Contra for NES is one of those games that everyone has nostalgia for and the AVGN is no different, so he's taking us back to the past to relive a series near and dear to his heart. While focusing on the original Nintendo Entertainment System classic and it's sequel Super C, The Nerd also checks out Contra Arcade, Operation C, Contra III: The Alien Wars, Contra: Hard Corps, Contra: Legacy of War, C The Contra Adventure, and Contra 4. -- Contra is a run-and-gun shooter game originally developed and published by Konami for arcades in 1987, before coming to homes on the NES in 1988. Also known as Gryzor and Probotector in some regions.

I just saw Sonic 2 in theaters, so what did I think? Going back to the Sega Genesis, Sonic 2 was always my favorite game for the console even though I was more of a Nintendo kid. This is episode 201 of the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN), which starts off Season 16. The Nerd promised himself in 2006 to review The Last Ninja on NES one day, and today's the day! The Nerd learned during Episode 200 that bad games aren't really made to be bad, that developers probably have decent excuses and issues... but, will he cut The Last Ninja any slack?? -- The Last Ninja is an action-adventure game originally developed and published by System 3 in 1987 for the Commodore 64. But The Last Ninja on the Nintendo Entertainment System is actually the second game in the series Last Ninja 2: Back with a Vengeance.

The Batman is finally out, so how does it hold up against other Batman films? Find out what I thought in my full spoiler free review! Director Matt Reeves (Dawn and War for the Planet of the Apes) brings The Caped Crusader back to the big screen with a much darker take on the source material, including a grittier Gotham and a villain that is constantly testing Batman's detective skills as he works to solve his biggest case in the two years since he put on the cowl.
Featuring Robert Pattison as The Dark Knight, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Gordon, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.

In my last video I talked about movies and shows that Passed the Torch from an old cast to a young cast, which leads right into this video on "Cobra Kai" season 4! Spawned from 1984's "The Karate Kid" and it's sequels, "Cobra Kai" follows a new generation of kids being taught karate in different dojos by series veterans like Johnny Lawrence, Daniel LaRusso, and John Kreese (to name a few). This is a spoiler review where I'll be breaking down the series and my thoughts on it as a whole, especially the latest season of the hit YouTube show turned Netflix series!

You asked for it, so here is my review of "Ghostbusters: Afterlife"! After over 30 years, we finally have a sequel to the 1984 and 1989 Ghostbusters, with Jason Reitman (the son of the first two films' director Ivan Reitman) taking the reins. Starring a new cast of characters including McKenna Grace as Egon Spengler's granddaughter, Finn Wolfhard of "Stranger Things" fame, and Paul Rudd from "Halloween 6", the follow-up has a lot to live up to. And the big question, would Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and the rest of the old cast appear in it? This all got me to thinking about this new Nostalgia film genre where old franchises are brought back, with the original actors passing the torch to a younger generation, much like the "Karate Kid" Netflix series "Cobra Kai" and many other series recently.

This year, I’ll be making more videos like this, including movie reviews, gaming, various topics. For most of these, I will be going back to my traditional scripted format, where I write/organize what I’ll say, rather than doing it off-the-cuff like the podcast format. I feel I’m at my best this way. Unfortunately that means the podcast will not be continued. But Justin and Kieran will continue producing and editing. Justin will mostly be focused on Screenwave projects and Kieran is focused on his streaming channel.

Little disclaimer: This episode was split into 3 parts because it's runtime is over an hour long in total. This made it easier to edit as we go. Also, Episode 200 was not made to sell a video game. The BTTF game you see (made in Unity by Sam) is just a plot device and not a "real" releasable game. Regardless, Sam's Unity files will be put online for free at the end of the 200 saga, next week. However, there is an upcoming 8-Bit NES AVGN game coming late next year, but it is completely unrelated to these episodes. Sorry if anyone was a little confused!

This is episode 200 of the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN), a review of every game published by LJN. This is part 1 of 3, with the others coming very soon. LJN has been a thorn in the Nerd's side for 15 years now. With the sudden rights falling into his hands, the Nerd has decided to remake every LJN game as good as possible. However, he'll need to review every LJN game ever made (while Back to the Future gets re-developed.) Thankfully, the Nerd has already reviewed a lot of the LJN library... but, there's a lot of garbage he hasn't played yet to complete the 67 LJN titles released.

Welcome to episode 17 of the Cinemassacre Podcast!! The full crew of Cinemassacre is BACK (James, Kieran, and Justin). We're also shortening these podcasts to be tighter, in a 35 to 50 minute range, so, excuse us as we slide into that.
The guys chat about their lives and the stuff they love: movies, games, and making videos. You’ll also hear about behind-the-scenes antics, anecdotes about being long-time YouTubers, and a ton of obscure pop-culture crap. It’s the off-the-cuff banter from Rental Reviews mixed with an AVGN panel, every Tuesday around 3pm ET... or find it on cinemassacre.com or wherever you get your podcasts shortly after.

James reviews the new cut of Rocky IV called "Rocky VS. Drago." Stallone has finally been given the green light by MGM to re-edit this film from 35 years ago. In the original film. after reclaiming the boxing championship title, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) plans to retire and live with his wife, Adrian (Talia Shire). However, during an exhibition match, Rocky's friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) is mercilessly beaten to death by hulking Russian newcomer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). Rocky vows payback against Drago and flies to Russia to train for a Christmas Day fight. Despite their different training methods, Rocky and Drago both wage a long and intense match.

While working on episode 200, James wanted to look back at his favorite moments from the first 199 episodes of the Angry Video Game Nerd. Episode 200 will be broken up into 3 parts in the first 3 weeks of December 2021. (Kind of like how Polybius was broken up into 5 parts.) Episode 201 will probably be in February of 2022.
