It's time to put two of the best action cameras on the market to the ultimate night test! The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 just received a major V2.0.6 firmware update promising enhanced image quality in very dark environments—specifically improving brightness, color accuracy, and optimizing its low-light film filters.
I had to see if this new software push gives the Ace Pro 2 the definitive edge over its super-compact competitor, the powerful Insta360 GO Ultra.
Can the small-but-mighty GO Ultra (V1.1.39) keep up with the Ace Pro 2's new low-light capabilities?
I took both cameras out for a late-night stroll down a dark forest road, using only minimal street lighting to push their sensors to the max. The results were better than I ever expected from action cameras this size!
