This is gameplay footage from the GOG version of "Lords of Magic: Special Edition". It shows highlights from my Medium difficulty run with a custom Fire Thief.
Fire Thief has terrible stealth, but he also has surprisingly good stats for melee combat and requires less experience to level up than most of the other faiths' thieves, allowing him to soften up enemies with his crossbow, then fight them in melee like a warrior (with no Berserk and Parry).
I started with Eternal Flame (which gives 1k XP and HP regeneration during combat) and Flint Ring (which improves rate of fire) artifacts and no extra units. I cleared few caverns to level up my leader, then liberated Fire Great Temple on day 3. After that, I gave Eternal Flame to my Fire Warrior and supported him with my Thief Lord for the rest of the run.
