Here I am up at the Belfast Braniel/ Gilnahirk viewpoint overlooking Belfast and Belfast harbour. This is the Queen Anne cruise ship down in the docks.
My video asks the question as to why successive UK governments, Tory and Labour, thought it was a good idea to allow our UK shipyards to die while almost every EU country in Europe subsidised theres and now continue to thrive.
These European yards bring in millions upon millions in revenue each year and give jobs to thousands of their workers while our yards, once the envy of the world, lie dead and idle with all know how, lost forever.
On top of this our governments did nothing, while foreign countries stole all our traditional industries and and bombarded the UK with cheap imports that killed off UK manufacturing. Now we produce virually nothing, leaving people here with no jobs or hope.
Our governments seem to have a death wish for UK industry. They have presided over the demise of shipbuilding, car, lorry, train, motorcycle, clothing, shoemaking, leather goods, printing, oil, steel, industries. All have all all died.
Fishing is almost dead too because foreign factory ships were allowed to operate in our waters and now our uncaring government are trying to kill our farming industry.Workable coal mines and rich oil wells have been shut too. Instead we even improt Russian oil through 'middle men'. Unbelievably while all this is happening Tory and Labour governments give billions of taxpayers money away to fund wars, and not a word was said.
You'd easily believe our governemnts were working hand in hand with our foreign competitors to destroy the local economy.
Why do voters still continue to vote for these people who have clearly betrayed the Nation?
