My Lilly has passed away. The full video is on social media, but I wanted to show part of it on YouTube since both Lilly and Zero were part of my old channel intro and were seen a lot on the channel.
Here is what Iâve written on social media:
Lilly Savannah, you got me through the darkest of days (and the most traumatic part of my life, you gave me the will to live) and we were both a little damaged when we met each other on that beautiful day in Texas at the shelter. I was told you were left to die on the side of the road by a puppy mill. I walked into that shelter convinced I was going to adopt a different dog, but then I saw you, with your original name of Snoockers. You were the one. They didnât know how old you were but estimated anywhere from 2-4, maybe more, and you had already had multiple litters according to the vet. We had quite a rough start but I was patient with you because you were terrified of everything. And I saw it in your eyes that you just needed to be shown real love.
Fast forward 11, almost 12 years later. We moved from Texas to Jersey and then from Jersey to Florida. Youâve seen me get my first big girl job, you saw me get married and have a baby, along with buying a house with the big fenced in yard that I always wanted for you and Zero, and you kept me alive and going. As my sister said, your doggy mission was over because you helped me get to this point. Iâm sorry that these last almost 6 months were harder for you and that the last few days were the worst.
Lilly bug, your passing has been so hard. I love you so much and miss you every second of the day. Itâs quieter now. I donât hear your gentle (well compared to Zeroâs) tip taps down the hall. Youâre not physically here to smush the babyâs pumpkin stuffy. I havenât fluffed it up because your imprint from the last time you fell asleep on it is still there. But I know youâre no longer in pain. You were the best dog ever and I hold a special place in my heart for you. Weâre making a nice memorial garden(your dadâs idea actually) for you and Iâm planting lilies. Iâll see you again baby girl. I love you and I miss you so damn much. May you rest in the sweetest peace.
