Were we a far sneakier party, we could have skirted around the outskirts of the mercenary group's camp and enter the ruins of the wizard tower via the incrediably ominous cave full of skeletal remains, but the Torn Bannermen pose a problem to not just Concelhaut, but the surrounding regions as well. They have plans on Caed Nua and probably other parts of the Dyrwood that I doubt are ultruistic, making a confrontation with them inevitable.

The leader of the mercenary group is stationed close to the barricades and despite them initiating dialogue with you, is intent on a battle. He'll talk as if you've slaughtered everyone in your path regardless of if you have or not and while he will give you some information, he won't betray who hired his group to take on Concelhaut.

The sad new is that if he can't best us, there be even less chance that his men could've taken on an ancient wizard, presuming that he's still alive.
