Join me for a tour of my backyard and garden, entirely in German! You’ll hear practical vocabulary for plants, gardening tools, raised beds, trellises, compost, the greenhouse, the shed, the pond, and plenty of other things you probably won’t find in a typical German textbook. Because you can see each object as I describe it, this tour gives you a chance to learn new words through context while practicing your German listening comprehension. Along the way, you’ll also discover why the garden keeps eating dirt, what unexpectedly grew beside the compost, why my shed claims to be photogenic, and how difficult this video was to film without becoming part of the lawn.
