The oldest cars of the LA Metro fleet are Breda A650s #501-530, built in the early 1990s for the initial opening of the subway system in 1993. These cars use Garrett chopper control with DC motors, a bit quieter than the AC cars built later (#531-604). These cars are still in service and here is a video of virtually all that were in service during two days in February 2025, both station stops and riding.
