Drying PETG filament, checking with VEVOR Analytical Balance Lab Scale

My Tech Fun 2024-10-08 | The first part of this video is the review of Vevor Analytical scale. The second part will be the drying of PETG filament which was stored in the water for 3.5 days. The drying proces is recorded using this scale with max measuring limit of 2kg and the precision of 0.01g.

BambuLab PA6-CF vs PA6-GF, strongest nylon filaments I tested so far

My Tech Fun 2024-10-06 | BambuLab PA6-CF is a nylon filament reinforced with carbon fibers. PA6-GF is reinforced with glass fibers. Both are printed with X1C 3D printer using default settings in Bambu Studio. I am repeating same mechanical testings, but in some experiments, these filaments were stronger than the maximal limits of my equipment.

My Tech Fun 2024-10-05 | Artillery Sidewinder X4 Plus is another fast bed slinger on the market. It's earlier model (SW X2) was the base of many 3D print farms. The new X4 Plus runs on the Klipper. It's not so quiet like it's earlier models, but it is significantly faster.

PrintDry PRO 3 filament dryer review - can it really operate at 85°C? Thats great for nylon drying

My Tech Fun 2024-09-21 | PrintDry PRO 3 is a filament dryer which (according to specifications) can operate on 85°C. This temperature can significantly reduce the drying time of the nylon, which is the most sensitive to moisture. For all other filaments, smaller temperature is enough.

Another ABS vs ASA comparison: AzureFilm ABS Prime vs ASA Prime with zero warping techology

My Tech Fun 2024-08-25 | In one of my previous videos, I tested AzureFilm PLA Prime, which can be annealed with minimal deformation. Very interesting material. In this video, two more filaments from their Prime line are tested: ABS and ASA. They have the same price, and I am trying to figure out, why they have the ABS next to ASA (since ASA is UV and weather resistant, less smell during the printing).

eBay impact tester vs DIY impact testing machine

My Tech Fun 2024-08-23 | With pendulum impact testing machine, we can see how the material resists to dynamic loads. The cost of DIY impact testing machine was 60$, but the main problem with it is the geometry of the hammer. I bought an analog impact tester from eBay; the cost is 15x bigger than DIY but 15x cheaper compared to European machines. Looks like 5.5J is too strong for 3D printing materials, but there are many other questions too. Is it usable? What is the accuracy? Is it finished? To be honest, it reminds me to Ender-3, which can be accurate 3D printer, but it needs some tinkering.

5 years old vs new filament - Which one is stronger?

My Tech Fun 2024-08-15 | 5 years old filaments are compared to brand new materials, to see if there will be any big difference in mechanical properties. Test objects from old filaments are printed twice, to see if drying will help in this case.
In the test I have 3 PLA and 1 PETG filaments (old and new) from the same manufacturer.

On the test: Bambu Lab 3D Effect Sheets

My Tech Fun 2024-08-03 | Bambu Lab has new 3D effect sheets with very interesting texture, which will be visible on the bottom surface of 3D printed object.
In combo I got 4 sheets but only 1 steel plate. Besides surface texture, very important is the filament adhesion to the bed, which is also tested in this video.

Sunlu Filament Connector - testing the connection with PLA, PETG, ABS

My Tech Fun 2024-07-24 | Sunlu filament connector is a filament welding machine. We can use it to connect two end of the filaments. The diameter is 1.75 mm. In this video I am testing it with PLA, PETG and ABS. The Benchy is printed with color change filament exactly after every half meters.

Everything is printed on Prusa MK4 at 245°C.

My Tech Fun 2024-06-21 | Kingroon's new 3D printer is KLP1 230, which is fast Klipper CoreXY 3D printer, very similar to previous model KLP1 (210). The original KLP1 was the first CoreXY printer by Kingroon and I had that feeling, that it is not finished. This is the reason, why I was curious about the latest version, I wanted to see if all those issues are fixed by now.

Even stronger Heat-Set Brass inserting method for 3D prints? Lets test it!

My Tech Fun 2024-06-13 | Everson from @GeekDetour channel presented several methods, how can we insert brass threaded heat-set inserts to be flush with the surface. One of the methods is final pressing in with the bolt.

Bambu Lab A1, great bed slinger, but is it better than P1P? (for PLA)

My Tech Fun 2024-06-06 | Bambu Lab A1 is the best bed slinger I tested so far. But the big question is, if it should replace my P1P, which is my #1 printer for PLA material. It has many advantages compared to P1P: it is quieter, nice touch screen, can accept cardboard spool. Print quality and speed is similar, only the acceleration is slower.

Can we dry the nylon at 70°C? Surprising results!

My Tech Fun 2024-06-03 | Every filament absorbs moisture from the air, and this may have a negative effect on the quality. The most sensitive to this humidity is the Nylon (Poly amide). Most of the filament dryers on the market can heat the air up to 70°C. Let's find out if this temperature is enough for drying the nylon.

My Tech Fun 2024-05-02 | FixDry NT1 is a filament dryer with strong heater, operating principle is based on food dehydrators. According to specifications, it can reach 70°C. PEI, PEO, PEY sheets. Which one is your favourite? I have mine..

My Tech Fun 2024-04-22 | P3D sent me 3D printing sheets for the testing. These are for BambuLab printers (P1P, P1S, A1, X1C) but they are available in many different sizes. Tested sheets are textured PEI, PEO and PEY. All 3 sheets are two sided. I measured the bed adhesion but also, I analyzed the bottom surface too. In most cases, they take over the pattern from the sheet.

Sovol SV08 based on Voron 2.4, similar print quality for fraction of the price

My Tech Fun 2024-04-21 | Sovol SV08 is based on very popular Voron 2.4 design. The quality of this design is better even from todays consumer CoreXY printers on the market.
I am not sure how, but Sovol made this printer cheaper than many voron kits (those kits requires 40+ hours of assembling)

Lets make a simple puzzle with WeCreat Vision laser engraver

My Tech Fun 2024-04-19 | Can you solve this small puzzle? Only from two peaces but 9/10 of my friends coudn't solve it after 1 hour of trying. Create a symmetrical shape, don't overlap the objects. In this video I am using WeCreat Vision laser engraver to create these shapes from plywood but STL files are also provided.
