But I quickly realized that it would be better using kbs V2 softsynth, which is the version everyone knows from The "The Scene is Dead" intro. So when I recently stumbled upon the original demo version, I decided to give it a little bit of polishing and released it in the Nordlicht 2024 gravedigger compo in which it finished 1st by a 1 point margin (!)

Dubmood & Zabutom - Pampradion (2003) Dubmood 2024-05-16 | The warez scene was always very structured with loads codes, rules traditions, formatting and regulations. Files shall be packed to certain size limitations, NFO files should have certain widths, stuff have to be named and labeled accordingly...The demo scene however have always been a complete anarchy. No party had the same rules regarding various compos, or even the same categories. Rules were always completely arbitrary and depended on the whim of who ever in the compocrew was responsible for a certain compo. And often enough they'd just copy the rules from previous year, that were copied from previous year, and so on.So sometimes, even in 2003, you would have to pull out a MOD instead of an XM for the chip compo and Pampradion is an excellent example of that. Now, 20 something years later I still sometimes stop to contemplate on stuff like, Why impose a MOD only rule in the chip compo if you already have a 4chan music category? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe zeppo knows. Because this track competed in the Underscore 2003 chipcompo, and thanks to our 2nd place, I am the owner of an amazing Underscore 2003 t-shirt designed by prof / comic bakery aka Maskinpop. Razor1911s Red Dead Redemption 2 Cracktro Dubmood 2024-05-01 | This is a track that Zabutom and I started back in 2011 or 12, before forgetting about it completely. While testing out 8bitbubsys FT2 clone back in 2023, I came across a very early draft of it and sent it back to zabu to see if he was eager to continue where we had left of. and yes he was!Long story short, this is the first track in what is hopefully a long series of new colabs that have already spawned Wallbreakers part 2 and the 2nd place Revision compo tune Track Tracking. So here you have it in its natural habitat: the soundtrack of a Razor 1911 cracktro for Red Dead Redemption 2 - Ultimate Edition. Technically, at the time that zabutom made this with me, he had not yet quit Fairlight and joined Rzr, so I guess this makes it the first razor + FLT cracktro colab? If you manage to rip the XM module from the cracktro you'll be able to treat yourself to some fine ascii by goto80, hidden in the sample texts.The cracktro was coded by Replay and the ASCII is by @goto80

My version is inspired by the Atari ST version of the soundtrack, made by David Lowe, but the original was composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi. First release-scene use was in late 2003, in a top site intro for a group whom I can't recall. If anyone remember, please lmk in the comments. I recollect that the intro had a big orange twister and I think it was coded by Replay. However, the intro to this track got more cracktro fame when it was used in the razor cracktro for GTA IV sometime 2010ish.
