Today, we're going to be taking a trip down memory lane as we dive into the 80s TV show CHiPs and its accompanying toy walkie talkies. For those of you who don't know, CHiPs was a beloved TV show that ran from 1977 to 1983, following the lives of two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers, Jon and Ponch.We've managed to get our hands on some of the original CHiPs walkie talkies from the 80s (thanks to Dom), but unfortunately, they aren't working quite as well as they used to. So, we've decided to take matters into our own hands and see if we can get these little gadgets up and running again.We'll be using some specialized equipment, including a TinySA signal generator and a SINAD meter, to test and repair the radios. We'll even be 3D printing a new battery lid for one of the walkie talkies. Once we're done, we'll take these babies out for a test drive and see if we can still use them to communicate with each other like Jon and Ponch did on the show.But be warned, we may encounter some unexpected foreign interference along the way.
