My complete Hoenn Regional Dex JemuzuDesu 2020-11-27 | Many years ago, me and my best friend sat down to run through Pokemon Emerald. Along the path we made jokes and memories that have stuck with us many years on. It started the trend of naming the character after Evangelion main cast, and we named each of our main team after Angels from the series. I moved out later that year and my next home didn’t have access to the internet for many months. In this time I bought all the required components to acquire all of Gen 3’s Pokemon, with only a few gaps in my collection. Working 40+ hour weeks and coming home to the grind, playing on the Gameboy player I made even more memories. Hunting for Feebas at 3am, the 2 1/2 hours it took me to get the 1% Surskit encounter, finding the gaps in the dex and filling them in and even a little bit of shiny hunting (unsuccessfully)Gen 3, Emerald, was the game of my Generation, the game before I was a teenager I had 90% of the regional dex and the last few just seemed impossible and the rumours on the school ground would tell us many a Pokemon was unobtainable. Now some 10 years down the line I have collected each and every one of the through legitimate means and with a little help of my wallet.My friend and I have been close friends for 15 years, and soon it’ll be 16. We started this challenge and finished it, we started Pokemon Colosseum, and together we completed Mt Battles 100 consecutive battles for the Ho-oh. This save file, while I am moving the Pokemon to Home and making them a memory to be cherished forever, has and will always mean more to me than any other. The memories will be immortalised here of the completion of the task we set ourselves one summer many years ago, and even though it’s a baby game for piss babies, it’s on the grounds of Pokemon that we’re both here today, friends.
