IBM to Hogenakkal Falls:21-04-2012 Lingaraja Patil | Hogenakkal water falls is in the border of Karnataka and Tamilnadu. From Bengaluru it is in around 150Kms distance. Hosur route is good. The other route is through Kanakpura, but road is not good. In Hogenakkal, you can go for boating(Teppa, 160Rs/head, if you want to stay in island for 1Hr or 2Hrs make deal with boatman). You can have oil massage(200Rs/head). Full body massage is done by uniform wearing people for 30 mins in open air near Kaveri river. For ladies there is a separate room for massage and is facilitated by lady massagers. There is a main water falls where you can take bath. The iron grills are provided and cement flooring is done in main falls to have a tension free bath. Water current will be high and it will remove all your body pains. It is said that water contains herbal healing power. Those who visit hogenakkal must go for boating and take bath in Main water falls. There is a hanging bridge, for which you can enjoy the view of water falls. Sand bed is on the other side of the bridge, there you can have snacks and enjoy the beauty of water falls. Final Destination Kodachadri(Day3_Part2)-St. Mary's Island Lingaraja Patil | A beautiful island on the shore of Arabian Sea. Its near to Malpe Beach which is 5 kms away from Udupi city. From Malpe beach boat will take us to the St. Mary's Island. In island we can play in sea water. Its very good place for photography as the rock formations are very good.We went to my brother-in-law's coconut farm in Arsikere shimoga. Murudeshwara Lingaraja Patil | Murudeshwara is a town in the Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. "Murudeshwara" is another name of the Hindu god Shiva. Famous for the world's tallest Shiva statue, this beach town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for the Murudeshwara Temple.The origin of the name "Murudeshwara" dates to the time of Ramayana. The Hindu gods attained immortality and invincibility by worshipping a divine lingam called the AtmaLinga. The Lanka king Ravana wanted to attain immortality by obtaining the AtmaLinga. Since the AtmaLinga belonged to Lord Shiva, Ravana worshipped Shiva with devotion. Pleased by his prayers, Lord Shiva appeared before him and granted him a boon. Ravana asked the AtmaLinga as the boon. Lord Shiva agreed to give him the boon with a condition that it should never be placed on the ground. If the AtmaLinga was ever placed on the ground, it will get stuck to that place. Having obtained his boon, Ravana started back on his journey to Lanka. Ikkeri - Karnataka Darshana Lingaraja Patil | situated 76 Kms to the noth of Shimoga and about 3 kms to the south of Sagar taluka. The word means "Two Streets". This place was the capital of Keladi Nayakas for some years. The walls of the city were of great extent, forming three concentric enclosures. In the citadel was the palace build of mud and timber, adorned with carvings and false guildings. The only vestige of the former greatness of ikkeri is the temple of Aghoreshvara, a large and well proportioned stone-building, constructed in a mixed style with a unique conception.

This place is also known as Dakshina Kedara was the capital of Banawasi rulers in the 12th century. The place is associated with several eminent Veershaiva saints like Allama prabhu, Akka-Mahadevi, Animishayya and Ekantada Ramayya. There are remains of many temples, shrines, mastikals, viragals and nisidigals. Some important temples are Kedareshvara temple made out of soap stone and is a fine specimen of late chalukyan type, Tripurantakeshvara temple resembling the works of belur and halebedu, Prabhudeva temple is a smaller trikutchala structure, etc..
IBM Bengaluru to Jog Falls(series - 4/4) - Kalahatgiri Falls, Jog Falls Lingaraja Patil | we are in 2nd day of the trip. What happened in the fist day and second half day you may have seen in the first 3 videos. Finally we reached Jog Falls. Lot of tourists were there. I found my friends from Sorab (I was in Sorab for more than 7 years) in Jog Falls. It was our bad-luck that, because of mist the falls was not clearly visible. I have visited this place several times when I was in Sorab, but this time I was feeling more happy to see this place. We did not go down because the whether was very bad, steps were very much slippery. Don't wanted to loose any of our software engineers in Jog Falls. Jog Falls is split in to 4 lean water falls by the names Raja, Rani, Roarer, Rocket. Names are given as per their behavior. Sharavathi river has made this falls. The water will be high in this falls, when a more water flows from Linganamakki Dam(reservior). Jog falls is around 450Kms from Bengaluru. 30+kms from Sagara and Soraba. Best time to visit Jog Falls is rainy season. A must seeing place in Karnataka(India). Watch this video series and give your valuable comments. Enjoy maadi!!. IBM Bengaluru to Jog Falls(series - 3/4) - Kalahatgiri Falls, Jog Falls Lingaraja Patil | In Video 1/4 and 2/4 you have seen Kalhatgiri and Kemmannugundi. In those series you have also seen how our vehicle was in trouble while going to Baba Budan giri from Kemmannu gundi. Our vehicle got stuck in the mud of water drainage.(see video 2/4). On the other side its a deep slope. Till evening 06:30 we(driver, us, other people who were passing by that way) tried to pull the vehicle out of mud. Not succeeded. We went back to Kalhatgiri by Jeep, got double-bed rooms. Driver did stay back and with the help of local Jeep drivers he pulled the vehicle back to the road in the morning 4:00AM. I lost my woolen cap, my friend Guru lost his costly sports shoes left in the vehicle. In the morning we went to the falls and what happened you can see in this video. Around 10:00AM we started towards Jog Falls. You can see the scenery on both sides of the NH206.
IBM Bengaluru to Jog Falls(series - 1/4) - Kalahatgiri Falls, Kemmannugundi Hill station Lingaraja Patil | In July we got project fund to go for outing. We decided to go for 2 Days trip towards greenary/water falls places. Places to be covered are Kalhatgiri Falls, Kemmannu Gundi(Hill station), Baba Budan giri, Jog Falls. ( There are 4 videos uploaded) We started from Manyatha Tech Park, Bengaluru around 9:00PM(IST) in the evening. Driver had no sleep, so he was driving slowly. On the way(near Tarikere) he parked the vehicle and slept for a while road side in a dark night. We reached Kalhatgiri around 7:30AM in the morning. Kalhatgiri Falls is around 45Kms from Tarikere and 230kms from Bengaluru via NH206. By crossing the falls you will see Veerabhadreshwara Temple. Water flows/falls in a very high velocity. IBM Bengaluru to Jog Falls(series - 2/4) - Kalahatgiri Falls, Kemmannugundi Hill station Lingaraja Patil | You have seen Kalhatgiri Falls in Video 1/4. Now,as part of day 1, we also visited Kemmannu gundi a Hill station near by Kalhatgiri. In Kemmannugundi, you can do trekking of Z-point (a 4 miles trekking). A best time to do trekking in this place is October, November, December. We did visit in wrong time(rainy season). We did trekking in this place, found leeches sucking our blood throughout our trekking. You will see those in this video. Some of our friends fell down because of slippery mountain routes. While going to z-point, you will see a small water falls called Shanti Falls. Kemmannu gundi also has Government cottages(IB) for tourist in reasonable rates.No private motels available. Rattihalli Carnival - Festival Video Lingaraja Patil | Rattihalli is a village on the shore of Kumadvati river in Haveri District, Hirekerur Taluk, Karnataka state, India. Its a well known place for Ko-ko game, Kadambeshwara historical temple, Madaga Big Lake, Veerabadreshwara Rathotsava. This video was shooted in March 2009. People throw Bananas on the Chariot(Theru, Ratha) to make there wishes come true. It is believed that the person who hits the tomb of the Chariot with his banana will get all the happiness in his life for that year. Enjoy the video.
