The so-called "dark ages" saw growth in decentralized Christian communities. Feudalism, based on land contracts between lords and vassals, emphasized local governance and Christian values. The Magna Charta and American colonial protests upheld feudal principles: no human authority is absolute, and covenantal loyalty under God can demand redress for broken agreements.

While divorce often leads to adultery, exceptions exist for sexual immorality, abandonment, and severe neglect. Forgiveness is required, but reconciliation is not always possible, and remarriage may be allowed. An unlawful remarriage is considered a true union to be honored. The Church must uphold God’s design for marriage while offering grace, hope, and healing in a broken world.

Parents are called to teach love and obedience to God through biblical discipline and a joyful home. As children grow, parents guide them toward independence, trusting God’s grace for both their own and their children's salvation.

Proverbs 14:1 highlights that wise women build their homes, while foolish ones tear them down. Contrary to feminist claims, Scripture shows women are already empowered through biblical wisdom. Sadly, many Christians have neglected to provide training for women to fully embrace their roles. The Proverbs 31 woman exemplifies this, managing her household, business, and community with diligence, strength, and wisdom, earning praise from both her children and husband.

Born in 354, Augustine's conversion from pagan influences shaped his teachings on the distinction between the sinful city of man and the eternal City of God. He emphasized that while Christians should work for justice in earthly governments, they must not confuse them with God’s kingdom. Augustine's thoughts on just governance and war laid the foundation for Just War theory and influenced both the Reformation and America's founding principles.

Just like how families create traditions for Christmas or sports, parents are to infuse their homes with the culture of Christ through teaching, practice, and joy. This involves not only teaching but also modeling and rehearsing behaviors like attending church, responding cheerfully to instructions, and preparing for everyday challenges. Parents are coaches, and children are the team—ready to run the "plays" of life in obedience and faith. This requires consistent practice, encouragement, and correction, helping children thrive in the culture of Christ with enthusiasm and love.
