The B9176 also known as the "Struie" is a 15-mile-long (24 km) road from Alness to Bonar Bridge. in the Scottish Highlands. Dell XPS T500 computer Paul Bottomley 2019-11-30 | Bringing back to life a Dell XPS T500 tower unit from May 1999. This tower is powered by an Intel Pentium 3 500 MHz cpu, which was only released in Feb 1999. At the time this was Dell's fastest base unit and commanded a premium price. In the US this retailed for around $2000, and upwards to $3500 if you wanted a TFT panel display as well.I strip this down, clean it, rebuild it then load the original software it was sold with.This also represents the last of the beige boxes, as the millennium started consumers strove towards anything other than Beige and we start to see the Dell Black boxes appear and other seller change system designs to get away from the Beige.
Apple Clamshell Part two Paul Bottomley 2019-11-27 | Part two of the tangerine Clamshell.the replacement motherboard arrived in the post and having replace it due to my clumsy fingers, I now have a working display. But I am still stuck with this strange issue that as soon as the Hard Drive is accessed the laptop crashes into sleep mode! I can boot off an install disc, but doing anything that access the hard drive causes sleep mode.Ideas welcome??

AMD K6/2 300 AT Tower Computer Paul Bottomley 2019-11-22 | I am almost all the way through the computers I obtained from the loft haul a few months back, this time I look at this AT tower case.This has an AMS K6/2 300mhz CPU with and some limitations on the motherboard's ability to support hard drives, as the video will elude.I decide that as it's a messy build, no space and lots of flat cables get in the way of a neat interior, I may as well use a messy install, so elect to use Windows 95 on Floppy, all 22 discs.I will swap out the noisy 420meg hard drive for a Flash card HDD, as I don't trust this drive to live much longer.

Compaq Presario 5473 Paul Bottomley 2019-10-26 | A rebuild of a Compaq Presario 5473. So much dust and dirt, but alas things are not all as good as I thought, software issues with installing things soon start to go down hill with endless BSOD.I think its RAM issues and also a bad power supply in that it doesn't recycle the power even though it's ATX. Its PC100 so easy to get cheap new stock and a 300 watt PSU shouldn't be hard to borrow from another machine as a test.Lots to fix and once I sort that out a second video will be produced to show the stock capabilities and software from the day.This is the third Presario I have looked at and by far the funkiest, I must admit to linking the Compaq look for the 1995 - 2000 era. When beige was in by it didn't mean the case had to be square.
