But behold, a journalist who came to cover the news, takes some pictures and discovers something amazing: in one of the photos you can see some small marks, highlighting one in the shape of a small shiny protuberance.
With the help of AI, it can identify these points as a set of satellites in the solar system, and the bright bulge as one of four Galilean satellites orbiting around Jupiter, namely Europa. Behold, the mystery thickens and it is now up to the player to solve it.

Written purely in BASIC this would be the sort of thing you'd find in the type-in section of the computer mags back in the 80's. This game will be entered into the Crap Game Competition and works on all Spectrums, including 16k.

Space Thunder DX is a version that collects some details that the author could not make at the time, and now with more knowledge he have been able to make details that were left in the inkwell, such as the screen frame, two phases discarded, correction of some bugs, new loading screen, defeat and new ending.

It had a perfectly round garbage heap, blocking the doorway, with a slimy yellow blob in the exact middle for spitting practice. The doorway opened onto a sewer-shaped hall - a deeply unpleasant tunnel filled with smoke, with secret panels, and floors snared and pitted, provided with treacherous chairs and lots and lots of booby traps - the orc was fond of visitors.
But what is an orc? Orcs are not seen much nowadays, since they are shy of human beings. They are a pungent people, little bigger than overweight elves, with the charisma of blow flies and the appetite of gannets. Orcs have little or no magic, except a rudimentary skill with knives and strangling cords and, in short, they are evil little pits.
This ore was unusually ugly, even for an orc. His name was Gringleguts.
Grindleguts had lived in the neighbourhood of The Mountain for about a year and most people considered him two steps lower than a tapeworm, not only because of the smell and the plague, but because he kept eating their household pets.
Knight Orc follows on from the events described in "The Sign of The Orc". Grindleguts has been volunteered as their champion by the other orcs, while in a drunken stupor, and tied to a horse so that he won't escape, or fall off, before the joust. Your first task, as the orc in question, is to live long enough to escape over the viaduct to Orc Mountain.

This is an updated 2024 version with these changes:

When Saga Dark was almost finished in 1990, the programmers started looking for a software house to publish the game, but with no luck, so the discouragement made the game remain unfinished. Years later it was recovered in four Z80 files.

ZX Spectrum Next. The Guild of Thieves was released by Magnetic Scrolls in 1987
and was their second game. As the other Magnetic Scrolls games, it provided
premium graphics (on some systems) in combination with an advanced parser.
A text-only version of the game was released for Spectrum +3. For the first time
you can now enjoy The Guild of Thieves and its beautiful graphics on your
Spectrum Next. If you need help finding your way around or want to read more

The game is created using the Spectrum Next porting of the Magnetic Scrolls interpreter
Magnetic and the remastered version of the game by Strand Games containing bug fixes and playability improvements.
The graphics is from the original Commodore Amiga version of the game. The
Amiga version used the same graphics as the Atari ST version, which had 16-colour
images from a palette of 512 colours. These images have been converted to Spectrum
Next's layer 2 graphics format using the Next BMP tools.
The remastered game contains a few new location images taken from the enhanced
version in The Magnetic Scrolls Collection.
The game screen is divided into three sections. The status bar at the top shows
the current location to its left and the score and number of turns to its right.
The middle section shows the graphics for the current location and the bottom
section is the text area which accepts user input at its prompt. When there are
too many lines of text to display on the screen at once, the message "MORE"
will appear at the bottom left of the screen. Pressing any key will continue the
scrolling of the text. The last entered line of input can be edited by pressing
the EDIT key. The graphics can be scrolled up and down using the up and down
arrow keys to make more or less room for the text. If a PS/2 mouse is connected
to the Spectrum Next, it can also be used to scroll the graphics up and down by
dragging it with the mouse or using the mouse wheel.
The text colour can be changed by cycling downwards or upwards through a palette
of 32 colours by pressing TRUE VIDEO and INV VIDEO, respectively. The default
text colour is light grey.
The game mode can be toggled between remastered and classic mode by pressing
BREAK. By default, the game starts in remastered mode. In classic mode, the bug
fixes and playability improvements provided by the remastered version of the
game are ignored. The additional graphics is also skipped in classic mode.

5. The Manager sacked screen has been revised.
6. After every 250 games in charge, the Manager is offered a celebration party.
7. Bug fixes:

If you are looking for the kind of game that goes: "This is what happened and this is what you must do", A1RL0CK is probably not for you as it has an in media res approach and may result obscure to many players until quite far in the playthrough. It's a story meant to unfold step by step and it is intended to work like this. Rel.3.2 is the post-PunyJam#3 polished version with an added scoring system and a lot of vanilla systems in which to play (included C64, Spectrum +3, AtariST, Amiga, Apple II, BBC Micro) , and we recommend you play this one. Check ReadMe.txt for a full disclosure on what changed in the game.
The game is running under CP/M on ZX Spectrum +3.

The Story So Far… For many years, the dungeon of Knightmare Castle has remained locked and vaulted. A time of peace has prevailed across the kingdom under the rule of the Good Queen. For many years, peace and hope have prevailed across the land. Yet little did the citizens of the realm suspect that far beneath the Castle in the deepest catacombs did stir a mortal peril! For there beneath the mountain did the Dread Lord Fear, once thought to have been banished for all eternity, bide his time, replenishing his lost strength through sinister magic while secretly building a mighty army of undead horrors and ravening goblin hordes.
Then, one day, as the cold wind howled and the full moon rose, did Lord Fear send forth his minions to ravage the peaceful lands, laying waste to all before them in a frenzy of pillage and destruction. In savage glee they salted the earth and burned the villages, before turning toward the Castle itself, whereupon they scaled the mighty battlements, overwhelmed the castle’s defences and – cackling with bestial delight – they fell upon the throne room, grasping the Crown for their dark Lord and sending the courtiers fleeing into the night.
The True Queen has not been sighted since that fateful night, leaving some to believe she may remain within the Castle, though alive or dead we cannot know. The Sword of the Kingdom which grants rule over the realm has been shattered and the pieces scattered throughout the dungeons. Meanwhile, Lord Fear has begun a reign of terror, his forces sallying forth each night to terrorise and enslave the cowed population. The villagers shiver at their hearths as they hear the drone of the hunting horns of the goblin outriders, hoping that tonight will not be the night the slavers come for them.
Yet amid the chaos and destruction, one man stands firm: Treguard, master of the dungeon, puts out the call far and wide for an adventurer pure of heart and noble of spirit to don the legendary Helmet of Justice and venture boldly into the heart of Knightmare Castle to unseat Lord Fear and restore order to the realm. Whomsoever will answer the call must undertake their quest to find the pieces of the shattered Sword of the Kingdom, locate the missing Queen, and by reuniting them, restore order to the realm and end Lord Fear’s tyranny.
Dare you answer Treguard’s call? The reward of Knighthood awaits the adventurer who can succeed in this epic trial!

First, pick from any available lake on the Lake Select screen. As you catch the King Fish in each lake, new areas will open up to you. Once you start fishing, move left and right to select a casting point, then push fire to cast your line. Wait patiently for a bite...
When the fish is hooked, you must wrestle with it to bring it in - use LEFT and RIGHT to adjust the direction (indicated by the bar at the top of the screen) and UP AND DOWN to adjust the tension (indicated by the bar at the right). Careful not to let the markers go too far or you will lose the fish or break your line.
