I started this a while back, but kept refining the design to get to this point. Walnut, Padauk, Maple, and Ash were used in this project. Bb's were used to add the weight for the dead blow. This pushes my woodworking design a little bit and I wanted this to be an heirloom quality build that embraces it's sort of steampunk look. This was my first time trying to combine brass with walnut, or any wood for that matter. I tried to stay as close to the original design that AI generated in this build, only making changes that I thought were necessary. Used brass knobs for the first time on this as accents and was very pleased how this turned out. This is also my #RocklerTryThatChallenge @rockler entry.

SO MANY ITERATIONS of the folding legs, but finally just moved forward with the most basic. I think with a wide "portable desk" I'm more likely to get out of the house to work some because I'll have a little more space. We'll see though.

Milled it up on my diy sawmill to dry. Eventually built a kiln to dry it and then it got built into a kitchen table. The legs are made from industrial pallet racking that bought from the scrap yard to use. I chose the 2 biggest sections of crotch on the Elm to capture that stunning figure. Trying to make crotch elm tables a household name!

Here I make a 2.5" shop vac hose distribution block. I also swap out my old Craftsman shop vac for a new Fein Turbo 1. It's supposed to be pretty quiet, so that means a lot to me. This is kind of a test because I'm thinking about trying this with my 6" distribution line at one point to save space, buy we'll see. Below is an affiliate link to the vacuum I bought.

I had a different need for it so I built it accordingly. 1/2" baltic birch, a couple gate hinges, and some other scrap laying around.

This stemmed from a design we made to fit between 2 angled chairs on our deck. It worked so well we had a request for another. I didn't really cover these boards and the weathering on them turned out to be pretty cool.

Used scrap laying around. 1/2 bb ply, 1/8 scrap walnut, 1" x 1" scrap walnut, drawer slides. Sketched up the front design and cut in 1/8" bb on the Onefinity. Built specifically for the space.
