Wooden Shop Hammer (Dead Blow Edition) Shade Tree Works 2024-02-17 | A wooden dead blow hammer has been on my list of things to do for a while and the wooden mallet is a staple of every wood shop. I started this a while back, but kept refining the design to get to this point. Walnut, Padauk, Maple, and Ash were used in this project. Bb's were used to add the weight for the dead blow. Gravity Pull Saw Holder (Form and Function Build) Shade Tree Works 2024-01-18 | I've been meaning to make some quality saw storage for hand saws. I kicked around possible designs, but really wanted to make it functional storage that bordered art. Then I stumbled on @LTMS with their gravity lock saw build (link below) that inspired this project. I designed most of this in Inkscape and then tweaked it in Cut2d. This gravity lock project uses quarter sawn beetle kill ash and walnut. Any cnc cuts were performed on my @OnefinityCNC Cnc. Steampunk Headset Stand Shade Tree Works 2023-12-29 | Walnut and Brass headset stand is the second build in the series of AI inspired builds. This pushes my woodworking design a little bit and I wanted this to be an heirloom quality build that embraces it's sort of steampunk look. This was my first time trying to combine brass with walnut, or any wood for that matter. I tried to stay as close to the original design that AI generated in this build, only making changes that I thought were necessary. Used brass knobs for the first time on this as accents and was very pleased how this turned out. I wanted this one to push the boundaries of my woodworking/cnc skills. This trilogy is a mix of a CNC project and tradition woodworking, but also focuses on iterative improvements to see if I can make it profitable. This build is a mixture of maple and walnut and was designed in cut2D. The idea was to make it look like a building that was in disrepair with a fountain for the landing tray. Milling one of Tennessees biggest cherry logs. Shade Tree Works 2023-08-26 | Had a friend bring me this massive cherry tree. The widest point on the log was just over 38" and gave my 11hp homemade sawmill a run for it's money. Since the log was too heavy for my tractor to move, I had to put in a lot of work even before it even hit the mill.

Ultimate Lego Display Build (Giant Shelves!) Shade Tree Works 2023-05-21 | I thought it would be great to make some proper Lego shelves to display Lego and other objects in the office. This couldn't just be any Lego build, it needed to be properly scaled up versions of Lego pieces. It required making a spreadsheet that would automatically generate the sizes based on my entries for this to work. Custom walnut, oak, and various colors seemed like the perfect DIY project. I wanted a mix of solid wood and painted shelves to merge the vision together. Had to build a few jigs to make this project go more efficiently and very happy with the end result. Cutting Crotch Ash Lumber on the Sawmill Shade Tree Works 2023-05-04 | Decided to run this crotch ash log on the sawmill. Got some cool looking crotch slabs out of it. This log was sitting beside the logs I've already metal detected so I didn't check it, mistake number one. I get really focused on my back guides and fail to notice my log hold. Waterfall Walnut Monitor Stand w/ Oak Inlay Shade Tree Works 2023-03-08 | Needed a nice monitor stand for the office. Found a piece of dried walnut I had laying around and decided to make a water edge stand with and inlay. Designed the inlay to cut from scrap white oak. With 60 degree legs, it turned out to be a little challenge, but loved the outcome. I've been busy with family, work, frc/rdl robotics, and so much more. Onefinity 65mm Spindle Upgrade Shade Tree Works 2022-06-19 | After some relentless sticking from the Makita router collet on my @OnefinityCNC and then seeing the @TwoMooseDesign video upgrading the spindle, it was time. I immediately ordered a 65mm water cooled spindle off of Amazon and got busy. Best thing I've done for the CNC for sure and the first of a few needed upgrades. Folding TV Table (Custom Live Edge Elm) Shade Tree Works 2022-06-19 | I need a bigger custom folding table, or TV tray as some know it. Working remote developing Android mobile apps for 10 years has it's advantages and disadvantages. I try to rectify one by using some ring shake Elm and scrap walnut to make a portable folding desk to work on. SO MANY ITERATIONS of the folding legs, but finally just moved forward with the most basic. Turning the first board cut on the mill into a drink table Shade Tree Works 2021-12-24 | Used an oak board from the maiden voyage of the sawmill last year and dried in the inaugural run of the kiln this year to make a very specific end table-ish.
