Updates
Switched to a 3rd person mode. You can switch the elevation of the camera between 3 different heights by holding the relevant buttons. Camera always points at the player and movement is relative to the camera, not player (no tank controls.
Animation for the player character triggers when moving (somethings bugging though)
House has been increased to higher poly count and lower res textures, large quads seem to cause slowdown.
Incorporated a jump mechanic.
Added height to collision allowing the player to stand on top of square hitboxes

I have been experimenting with a few different ways to animate objects. both for moving them along a set path, and animating the 3D mesh of an object.

Amazing game. Super fun, solid graphics and tons to unlock.
Monaco GP is a remake of the original 1979 arcade release of Monaco GP, sporting vastly updated graphics and audio. There is an "original" mode which mimicks the arcade game, and a "grand prix" mode which adds fifteen new courses, multiple camera viewpoints, powerups and a jump button. There are a number of other gameplay changes in this mode, and multiplayer support.

As the name may suggest, Puyo Puyo Tsuu Perfect Set is an upgrade of Puyo Puyo Tsuu, originally released for Sega System C-2 arcade hardware. Though the original was not strictly a Sega game, they had acquired the Puyo Puyo series from Compile by this point, making it a Sega property.

This game is a remake of the original 1986 arcade release of Fantasy Zone. It has two modes, "arcade" and "original", both sporting cell-shaded 3D graphics rather than 2D sprites and four new levels.

Gameplay
A really deep racing game with complex grip mechanics. This one is really difficult at first but, if you give it the time to learn how to play, you have an amazing racing experience here. The grip mechanics are very in depth and realistic. You need to factor in not only your cars performance, but the road surface has a big impact, as does your suspension and the slope of the road. This means your turning response and acceleration/braking are heavily affected by where on the track you are. Each car handles very differently, and you can tune them as well, with a significant impact on handling and performance. Using the 3D controller really helps here, having analogue control over the accelerator and brake as well as steering really helps, but fortunately the game also has half accelerate and half brake button mapping available. As such, I was able to get on very well with the Saturn Pro controller.
Graphics
Some hate this, but I find the graphics very impressive. The cars look amazing, with very high geometric detail, large sharp textures everywhere and a massive draw distance. This combines with blistering speed throughout. The frame rate does take a hit, and a performance mode similar to DC Sega Rally 2 cheat would have been welcome, but the framerate issues are nowhere near as bad as people make out. There is also some texture warping which becomes more evident in replays when the camera rotates around the car, but its not really evident when playing and everything is flying past you at 300km an hour. Considering that this is a port of a later Model 2 game, the inclusion of almost all the details here is incredibly impressive. It looks gorgeous throughout., despite sub optimal framerates.
Sound
The high tempo techno soundtrack fits the high speed racing excellently. It keeps the game exciting and maintains tension. The engine sounds are meaty and realistic and fit the sense of power and speed perfectly. Crashes are crunchy, tyres screech as you skid and menu sounds are satisfying.
Overall
There is a ton of depth in the gameplay. Additionally, you have plenty of secret content to unlock, including 2 extra tracks and 3 cars. Additional modes become available as you progress including vs AI racers and an AI racer mode where you train the AI and enter it in exhibition mode. You also have date dependent bonus challenges. All this, and you also have 2 sides, Saturn and Arcade, which are different enough for both to warrant your attention. A very well put together game. Big thanks to the Saturn Shiro guys for the community challenge that got me back into this game. This is a contender not only for best racing game mechanics on Saturn, but for the whole console generation.

Gameplay
Its a (sort of) open world platform game. Each stage has some challenges to complete, such as finding items, getting the shortest time on defined courses through the level, collecting items and so forth. The controls are very intuitive and its fun to navigate around the levels. Its very smooth and you have momentum, so as you combine jumping, sliding and running you can pick up a lot of speed. This makes the platforming very fun, requiring you to exploit the games physics engine to reach certain areas. It can get really fast and you can chain up jumps and bounce off edges to rapidly change direction. Very impressive.
Graphics
Extremely impressive. The levels are very large, and the draw distance is huge. Distant objects clipping is faded much like Sonic R. The geometric detail is very dense, with a seemingly massive number of polygons on screen, all texture mapped. The player character is also detailed and animated very well. The levels are also varied, and the range of geometric shapes on offer is both a testament to the very impressive graphics engine and keeps the game aesthetically pleasing and interesting.
Sound
Nice sound effects combined with subtle but pleasing ambient music fits the aesthetic style of the game very nicely. Its very relaxing and makes the process of exploring g the levels more enjoyable.
Overall
Its really great and I eagerly anticipate seeing more of this game. I do need to get better at picking up speed though :)

This game is an infinite scroller. Build up points by remaining on the road. If you stray off the road, you rapidly lose points. Different cars scroll at different speeds, thus adjusting the difficulty.

This patch for the japanese version of Doom fixes a few issues. Game still runs at a terrible framerate, but its definitely an imporvement, and Doom is a great game. Best way to play it on Saturn, if only someone could fix the framerate.

This patch changes up some textures and adjust the stages for differnt times of day/colour pallets. Always worth an excuse to play Sega Rally again. Would be great if these changes could be incorporated into the main game to give it more content.

Its still in the early stages, so there are still some issues and untranslated sections. Currently, only disc 1 is patched as well, but this is still a great piece of work. Based off of the 3DS translation, this already makes disc 1 almost completely accessible. You get some issues like letters dropped off the side of the text box and breaks mid word as it continues on the next line, but this is a great start. Very much looking forward to the finished translation as this game is nearly impossible to navigate through the language barrier.

I was not able to make this run on real hardware, so this is captured from an emulator. Others have said they got this to load on real hardware, but so far I can't. If I manage to make this work I will upload another video, but I may need to wait for a later version.
As for the Tech Demo itself, it looks really nice. Its fairly basic at this stage, I wasn't able to hit Robotnik, and his attacks did no damage to me. There is audio, which isn't captured here, and the graphics look nice, being unmistakably reminiscent on the mystic ruins just below Tails' workshop.

It looks really nice, being output at 480i, which for this sort of game makes everything super crisp and sharp. Mouse support is great, it would be nice to have a sensitivity slider though as the mouse moves quite slow across the screen.

It's a multiplayer tank deathmatch game played from an overhead perspective. Plays well enough and has decent presentation. Should be fun with a few players, but I didn't have anyone to join me this time :(

Quite handy for adjusting setting in OSSC and Monitor colour profiles etc. I didnt do any of that on the vid as results will obviously vary, and you can't see the changes on my monitor, but I cycle through all the tests. This highlighted some real deficiencies in my recording setup vs my actual monitor, and also some issues on my monitors side not present in OBS recordings.

The port runs rather slow on Saturn. The cutscenes also have some distortion. Crashes a fair bit as well. On the emulator, this ran fast. Nevertheless, this is Flashback and it is running on Saturn. It looks great, sound effects are present, and looks like the demo features most of the game. This is one I really want to see taken further. It's beyond doubt that Saturn could manage an excellent port of this classic, and I'm sure this could eventually be it. Thanks to VBT for this one.

Its a fan made Castlevania game. Originally made for the Amiga CD32, this is a port to Saturn. Plays well and has a good song while you play. Tough as nails though.

This is the 1.0 build of the game for Sega Saturn By Paul Met. It features a full English translation along with several significant improvements such as the restoration of transparencies lost on the original port, corrected aspect ratios for some sprites and use of the 4M RAM cart to remove load times when accessing the menu and map.
Its an excellent patch which makes this Saturn version the definitive copy of the game. An amazing addition to the Saturn Library.

The Dreamcast version is my favourite of the 3. The Dreamcast port has the best graphics out of the three versions, even being better than the PC version. There's just a lot of colour depth and the lighting is much more moody. Raziel has more polygonas and a significantly better modfel with improved textures. DC also has the highest frame rate, targeting 60fps. Significantly improved over the PS1 version, the graphics aren't exactly impressive by DC standards (since it was designed for PS1), but its not bad either. The game is excellent as well, with an open world metroidvania design, excellent story, superb voice acting and really moody soundtrack. An absolute classic and worth a buy on whatever system you choose.
This is a techdemo of a video codec for Saturn. Its a collection of high quality FMVs. This is running on stock HW, from a burned disc using a Pseudo Saturn Cart. Everything runs well. Looks like some of the videos weren't playing for me, probably a burn issue on the disc, as I had to use the shoulder buttons to skip at a few points. Very impressive. Used the upscaler rather than OSSC on this one as the videos are output in high res interlaced mode

This translation of Stellar Assault is Danthrax's submission to the Sega Xtreme 29th Saturn Homebrew competition. As with the bulk slash translation, this one is excellent. An entierly fan made translation, it goes all the way, translating the speech as well as the text. A plethora of voice actors redub the FMVs, pre stage briefings, and in game radio chatter. It is an exceptionally good translation and has opened up the story to one of my favourite Sega Saturn games. a Great entry and vcery greatly appreciated.
