In this video, I review ”KILLHOUSE”, a Ukrainian film directed by Liubomyr Levytskyi, set during the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The film has a powerful real-world premise and some strong military details, but I was disappointed by how much it moves away from a grounded war story and becomes more of a Hollywood-style action thriller.
If you want to support Ukraine and Ukrainian cinema, I understand watching it for that reason. But as a war film, I unfortunately cannot really recommend it.
