I honestly don't know how I feel about calling this an extreme demon. Every one of my friends who has played it a decent amount says it's extreme, but the balancing is rather peculiar so it's hard for me to tell, and another thing is I made the gameplay AND rebalanced it all by myself. In the end, I think I land this right in between insane and extreme difficulty, but for me I struggled about as much as I would on an insane demon.To mention the gameplay/balancing I made here, it's definitely not perfect, and beating this has shown me that. But honestly other than like 2 really odd additions/"fixes", I think it all works and plays pretty well if you're a specific kind of person. If the gameplay besides the wave is already kind of hard for you to get down, this is not your level if you want to have a good time. If you are already way above the skill needed to play most of this gameplay, and you're weird like me, you might enjoy it actually. Probably not but I did at least, and also I have this level understood very well from making it so it only took me roughly half an hour to do.The decoration isn't as intricate or well polished or interesting overall as most modern 1.9 GDPS levels, but I still think I got exactly what I wanted when I made this gameplay. I wanted a dark forest themed 1.9 wave-based extreme with 1.9 feeling deco, and I got that. My Parts in Blood Echo by Farva (2.1) SnapShock 2024-03-02 | ===========================================NOTE: Thanks to Moffe for helping make the castle background and other details in the dual part!!I want to talk a bit about just why I put the effort I did into this level.Back before 2019, I had basically no decoration skills. At least until I mentioned wanting to get better in a voice chat with Farva, and he offered to go out of his way to show me how to improve and some techniques to use to create good visuals. We spent several hours going over every aspect of 2.1 decoration. Afterwards, I was finally able to start really evolving my style because of his advice. I have been grateful to him since then, and in 2021, I was finally skilled enough at deco where he let me into his level "Haunted Corridor" in place of Tobuu.At the time, I was quite proud of the part. It was by no means perfect, I got quite lazy for the third segment and Farva actually had to fix up my dual part in the middle by adding spike designs and other details. In retrospect especially, I realized how much better I could have made the part at the time and wished I had given it more thought before handing the final version of it over to him.Then later on, I heard he was making a new sequel to the level, which is the level I am showcasing here today. Wanting to show I knew how to make genuinely good visuals with much better variety and detail, I decided I wanted to push my limits and truly make the best work I could to make up for the blunders of my Haunted Corridor part. For the drop part of this level, I put several weeks of effort to absolutely max out my current potential, and I think I managed to do it. I even went back to adjust some things later, and I really believe I couldn't be happier with the results.As for the predrop part, I asked to build it myself since the people who offered to do it weren't working on it at the moment and I wanted the level to be finished as soon as possible. I didn't put near the amount of effort I did for my drop part (only about a week of effort), and even went back to it later to add on a lot more to it (you can see my old version of the part in Farva's showcase of the full level. I have since then replaced it with my rehashed version). Regardless, even though I think my drop part is a much better showcase of my maximized potential at the moment, I'm still very happy with the results and think that both parts far exceed the quality of my Haunted Corridor part.I want to take this moment to truly thank Farva, as without him I don't know if I would have ever really made it into the creation scene, and my style would definitely not have evolved into what it has today as I still use a lot of the advice he gave to me all those years ago. I hope he knows just how much he has impacted my experience with the game and my ability to make what I want to without having to rely on others to do the work I do now. I wasn't able to beat it the next day when I saw it had been verified, so no first victors here, and my leaderboard position won't be there (my internet hasn't been set up at my new house yet, I asked my friend Vinny to get me a gmd2 and send it thru discord).So regarding the level, it's all about the designs. I especially like the green section in majacko's part, it feels like a completely different game with all the crisp and detailed techy glow stuff, and the design in all his part is so sharp but narly and intricate, I don't even know what to compare it to. I wish majacko would do designs in other art forms as well, I love the harsh-tech look he nails.Loogiah has some phenomenal parts too, he made most of the level and even added to majacko's part. I really like the entirety of up to 44%, all the deco in every part has it's own unique setting. I think the laser part starting at 44% is still super cool but it feels a bit murkier than the rest. The very last bit with the auto I thought at first was a bit simple in comparison but I still really like the structuring and colors, but that can be said for all of Loogiah's work here.Idk, I just really like this level and it's definitely one of my favorite looking ones ever. I was in a voice chat with my old friend normakes and I was kinda just pretending to make one of those terrible old impossible levels Tosh would showcase in like 2016.What I DIDN'T expect to happen was for someone else, Europa, to want to go as far as to remake and extend the original to a new top extreme. I was a bit skeptical at first, as I rly just didn't want this to be my legacy. But as I met more people in 1.9, it sorta became a part of me I guess.After a week or so I was onboard, and decided to make the extending gameplay you see here today (Hub's part). PurplePopcorn was also assigned to decorate back when this was happening in 2019/2020, but the project fell through.Sometime at the start of this year I made some deco in a random part myself, for actually 100% no reason at all. But I began to wonder if I could just, real quick host this and finish it as a full map. So, I then got some of my friends and some friends of friends to do some deco and then it was just done.After finishing that version, eventually the verification got passed to Slithium, who made the gameplay much harder. Being that the level is now gonna be a literal top demon in the GDPS, I tried running through the level one more time yesterday and adding more deco/improvements onto the existing parts. So hopefully people won't be as mad when I release this right next to Iceberg being that this hopefully looks a bit better.I think this level is ok. I finished this project 5/27/22. 10 months and 23 days.This was by no means easy to host. For starters, keeping a creator interested in your level isn't really that easy. I had like 10~ other people I tried directing to finishing their part, but due to one circumstance or another, they ended up not finishing. Makes shit impossible to organize confidently.There was also an issue with quality at times. Not only was there an entire part I ended up scrapping (sorry PurplePopcorn), I had to step in and edit certain parts (some more than others) to fit more or just look better. Now, that's not to discredit ANY of the creators who participated, as I am very grateful to all those who finished. For most of the time, I made rather subtle changes that didn't really take away from the original part, and the changes were mainly just to kinda "spice it up" in a way. Either way, I think overall the parts work well and the quality remains decently consistent.Overall this collab was quite a roller coaster to keep in check. I'm not sure if I would be uploading this video right now though if it weren't for the help of both WackoBazacko and WingedHarmony, who helped with decision making and polishing.I really hope you like this one, I tried my best. Infected Caverns has remained on the list for a year now, and there was finally a level ready to dethrone it; "Fragmented" by Cersia. Eventually, fast forward a little bit to mid-late-2020, Glacier was fully finished after months of work. It was the competitor at the time for the Top 1 position in the 1.9 GDPS, and it was only a matter of which level got beaten first.On the night the level was finished, all the creators gathered in a voice chat and sort of celebrated, but more or less just hung out. Coznix, who was both a creator in the level and the first verifier, screen-shared himself balancing the level to cater to his skillset. The level ended up being harder than Kowareta...Fragmented won the race, solely because nobody could verify Glacier.
