Tatting - Alternative to a SCMR Frivole 2021-02-11 | In this design, the small rings are made as self-closing mock rings (SCMRs). Here I show you an alternative way of getting the same result. A SCMR is basically a chain joined back onto itself to form a ring so all you need is a space in your chain to make the join. Crochet - Joining Squares with Crochet Method Frivole 2021-01-25 | I recently completed a baby blanket and came up with this method to join the squares (I've no doubt not invented anything but had not seen it done like this before though I'm sure other people have used this method). I like the look of the seam it creates and the fact that it's also nice and flat. Tatting - Hen & Chicks Corner Frivole 2020-11-16 | Here is the corner I designed for the Hen & Chicks Edging I showed you in my previous video. Hen & Chicks is a classic edging that can be found in many vintage and out of copyright tatting publications but it's a straight edging which doesn't have a corner. There are many solutions that would work and no doubt other people have come up with their own designs but this is my idea of a corner for Hen & Chicks. Tatting Tips - Hiding End (for bobbin shuttle) Frivole 2020-03-29 | A little tip I like to use which I find quick and easy. It seems less fiddly to me than having to tat over the end in the normal way. Unfortunately for those who favour post shuttles, this tip only works with a bobbin shuttle.
Tatting for Beginners - Sewing Ends In Frivole 2020-03-15 | I've shown how to use magic loops to hide ends when you complete your tatting in my previous video but here is the most common and simplest way to hide your ends: with a sewing needle, weaving under the caps of stitches. I don't know why it's taken me so long to do a video on this technique as it's really useful when starting to tat... to know how to finish!
Tatting - Hiding Ends Using Magic Loops Frivole 2020-03-10 | There are different ways to hide ends when tatting. Personally, I'm a big fan of magic loops and this video shows how to use them. They don't take long to add to your tatting and make completing your work really quick and easy!I use 4lb and 6lb Fireline, both work fine but if I had just one, I'd probably go with the 6lb.
