Atheist philosopher Kai Nielsen recognizes the absurdity that nothing can do something. He gives an illustration of someone hearing a loud bang:
"Suppose you hear a loud bang...and you ask me, 'What made that bang?' and I reply, 'Nothing, it just happened.' You would not accept that."

The Kalam Cosmological Argument presupposes that nothing cannot do anything (because it's nothing, stupid!). However, there are some atheists who think nothing can do something, like creating a universe!
