Sitting between the GLC and the GLS-class vehicles, the Mercedes-Benz GLE represents the “E-Class” brand of cars, in a Crossover SUV body. The GLE is available in several different levels, from the diesel-powered GLE300d, all the way up to the creme de la creme AMG GLE63 S. Today, our highlight vehicle is, while still an AMG, and no less impressive, is not the S designation, but rather the AMG GLE63. Featuring the 2-stage AIRMATIC four-corner adaptive air suspension, active curve management and active dampening, which greatly enhances the already excellent 4MATIC AWD system, specifically tuned by AMG. Aggressive body styling, a comfortable, sporty interior and huge amounts of options make this GLE an amazing vehicle. What makes it great is what powers it; the single-person, hand-built 5.5L AMG BiTurbo V8 engine. Working in conjunction with the aforementioned systems, this 550 horsepower SUV can hit 0-60mph in around 4.6 seconds. Impressive for a 5,200lb sled. Our AMG GLE63 represents the 3rd Generation W166 version, which was introduced in 2011. The W166 ran up to the 2019 model year, making way for the current 4th generation W167 models. Work to replace the Z20 Soarer with an all-new model, one that would finally be American-bound, took place in 1987. Balloons filled with plaster and manipulated in ways to make elongated shapes in three dimension are how the all-new, American designed Z30 Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC would take shape. It went from contour to clay, skipping the drafting tables and CAD renderings altogether. To be more specific, they poured wet plaster into said balloons, then squeezed them as it hardened into forms that looked more like abstract art than cars. “We took photographs of these kind of organic, amorphous images and we transposed them to a slide.” “We shot the slide onto a projector, stretched that image, and that became the Lexus Coupe.'”First introduced in 1991 as a 1992 model, the SC400 was the V8 version of the Z30 cars. The other variant was the SC300, carrying a 2JZ 3.0L inline-six engine, of which could be had in either manual or automatic variants. The Z30 ran from the 1992 to 2000 model years, with its replacement appearing in 2001 as a wildly different car. The Z31 was a bubbly looking, retractable hardtop convertible, satisfying the needs of a coupe and a boulevard cruising convertible. I bought this at the Greenlight Diecast Collector’s Event back in 2018 in Indianapolis at their headquarters and I’ve never regretted it. To even think that an offering from Fuji Heavy Industries was priced around $35,000 brand new, and it be badged as a Subaru, was something quite fantastical. So, with the SVX, or, Subaru Vehicle X, what we do have is a well-engineered 2+2 sports coupe with enough performance, technology and luxury accouterments to make that price seem anything but excessive, even from Subaru. It is a Luxury Car, as Car and Driver even said that “It deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the Acura Legend, Lexus SC300 and even the Cadillac Eldorado.” Motor Trend mentioned that it’s also a sports car, with “its high 0.92g skidpad rating approaching that of the Corvette ZR-1 and Acura NSX.” Quite simply, the SVX has no equal.Marketed in world wide markets, the SVX was a part of the Alcyone line, which included the zany XT6 from the 1980’s. Alcyone is the name for Eta Tauri, the brightest star in the Pleiades cluster within the Taurus constellation, which makes up the Subaru logo. Our SVX was built for the Canadian market and imported to the States. The SVX was produced from the 1992-1997 model year over a single generation, with front wheel or all wheel drive configurations. In all honesty, I’ve been looking for something like this for a while for my car, a 2009 Ford Fusion, and figured this would be a great opportunity! Ultimately, I’ve had this display for about a month, and I used that time to gain familiarity with it, and to use it in extended use to see how it would work. So far, it’s been excellent! I love that the Bluetooth connection in my car connects to my phone, but having the CarPlay display is pretty convenient, seeing that there’s not a lot of places to set my phone if I’m using the navigation. Also, for the sake of convenience, and to add value to an already incredibly priced screen, this display also comes with not only a front facing dash cam, but also a reverse camera!! And, it comes on automatically when placed in reverse! That’s handy! The rear camera also can double as a rear dash camera, and both files save to a micro SD card. The fourth generation was introduced in January of 1993 for the 1993 model year, with the initial design running until 1997, with a mid-cycle refresh happening in 1998. The refresh would be known ultimately as the “catfish” due to the odd front end styling. The end of the road for the Camaro would come in 2002, and remain out of production until the car was reintroduced as a retro-inspired design in 2010. Several changes were made for the 1994 model year. The mechanically controlled and operated 4L60 automatic transmission was replaced with the electronically operated and controlled 4L60E, which was shared with other GM vehicles with V8 engines. Dashboard gauge graphics were changed from yellow to white. There was also a spot in the gauge cluster reading ASR off. Although GM had intended to install ASR or Acceleration Slip Regulation (called "TCS" by Pontiac) in the 1994 F-body models, it did not make it into production until the following model year. The Z28 received updated front brakes and cooling fans were changed mid-year from a parallel to a series setup. While not the most inspiring of convertibles that was on the market, it WAS the first Buick convertible since the 1991 Reatta, and the first 2-door Buick since the discontinuation of the Riviera in 1999. But the Cascada wasn’t a Buick, per se. It was a heavily badge-engineered vehicle with its roots tracing back to late 2012 for the 2013 model year Opel, Vauxhall and Holden Cascada. For the 2016-2019 model years, we received the Buick Cascada. Sitting on the Delta II platform, the Cascada is actually a very well-built car and rates high on reliability scales. The Cascada was designed from the outset as a convertible, with its top module developed and manufactured by Magna Car Top Systems. The interior was designed with top-down driving in mind, specifically referring to the Bayer Cool Leather System, which uses specific dyes and pigments to reflect solar infrared; improve thermal comfort. The suspension system was also state of the art. Front suspension, marketed as HiPer Strut, reduces the kingpin inclination angle and shortens the kingpin offset compared to a MacPherson strut design — helping to prevent torque steer; increase front axle grip during cornering and optimize tire contact with the road. The design reduces unwanted steering system disturbances over bumps and on rough roads and allows the Cascada to employ 20" tires.Our Cascada was produced by Adam Opel AG in Poland in January of 2017. Of course, I said yes, however, long complicated story short, due to a weird computer issue on my car and a long backorder, I couldn’t do anything with the car until this month, so, 6 months later, I finally am able to review these lights!I do have to say, I’m quite impressed. They’re easy to install, and these particular ones have the CanBus installed inline with its wiring, which eliminates the Bulb Out warnings that appear on some vehicles. Mine is acting funky in that regard with the left lamp, but I think I may have not plugged it in all the way? The right one does not trigger the warning. In any event, these bulbs are bright and feature a broad, even beam pattern that illuminates the entire road very nicely. The sad reality of it is, there just aren't a lot of them around anymore in really nice shape. Rust or fire was the main cause of their extinction, but also they were simply bought and used how they were intended; a family or cargo hauler, and, they slowly dissapeared off the roads. Now, here I am, thanks in part to a post on Facebook's Underappreciated Survivor's Page, that I am here with this Ford Aerostar!Aerostar production was from 1985-1997 and ran for a single generation, however, conception was mid 70's with Ford Engineers wanting a garageable family van that was smaller in stature than the full-size Econoline, but retained the same built Ford tough idea. With a design freeze established around 1978 with the Ford Carousel concept van, and ultimately ending up on the auto show floor with the Concept Aerostar in 1984.The first Aerostar rolled off the assembly line on June 15, 1985. Production ran all the way to August 22, 1997, produced solely at the Saint Louis Assembly Plant in Hazlewood, Missouri. The Aerostar Plant produced 2,029,577 vans in total, and ultimately passed the baton to its successor, the Ford Windstar, a full-unibody, front-wheel drive minivan. Diecast Review - Maisto 1:26 Scale 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE Neighborhood Car Reviews 2022-12-05 | For our first upload in December, we are taking a look at this incredible Maisto 1996 Plymouth Voyager! While not exactly commonplace for a diecast company to produce a more "regular" car for replication, due to the incredible response to the redesigned Chrysler minivans, Maisto decided to cash in on the craze. First out was the Dodge Caravan in Forest Green Pearl and Candy Apple Red Metallic, while the Voyager came a bit later in White and Deep Amethyst. I originally bought mine in 1996 at KB Toys for $6.99 and was the white version, but has since been lost in a move, so I replaced it from eBay with this Deep Amethyst version. I think I like the Voyager a bit better, since it has Plymouth-specific grille and bumper, as well as the tampo branding badges, whilst the Caravan lacked those badges. Diecast Review! Maisto 1:18 Scale 1997 Dodge Copperhead Concept Car Neighborhood Car Reviews 2022-11-01 | This car comes in two versions; the ultra-rare and hard-to-find Copperhead branded version, and the much more common Dodge Concept Car version. While this one is indeed the more common Concept Car version, I do have the Copperhead version as well. What makes this car so rare in the Copperhead version is the fact that Dodge encountered trademark violations with the band ZZ Top, and, more specifically, Billy Gibbons and his 1950 Ford Coupe called Kopperhead. As a result, DaimlerChrysler unofficially renamed the car, with it being referred to as the "Concept Vehicle" instead of "Copperhead" in press kits, scale toys, and other merchandise. This made press kits or items with the Copperhead name collectibles.In any event, this is an incredibly detailed model of this really cool car that does indeed exist, but only one was ever made, and it is a fully-functioning automobile that Motor Trend even tested it in July of 1997. Utilizing the same mild-hybrid All Wheel Drive platform as the Sian Hypercar, the Countach LP 800-4 brings a new and fresh design and revitalizes a classic 80’s and 90’s teenager bedroom posterchild! While the reviews have been mixed, I happen to LOVE the new Lamborghini Countach and love that this Diecast exists!
