HEALTH ALER documentary "Don't Swallow your Toothpaste." This documentary features Paul Connett of the Fluoride Action Network and Phyllis Mullenix whose groundbreaking advanced scientific experiments and published study at a top dental research institution connected to Harvard University showed that fluoride is a neurotoxin. Mullenix was hired because she was known to successfully go up against regulatory agencies like the EPA while still being an honest scientist. She knew nothing about fluoride before she was told to investigate it. Her work sparked research studies all over the world, which mostly came to the same conclusion as Mullenix - that fluoride is a neurotoxin just like lead is a neurotoxin. Mullenix lost her job at that dental institution and that was essentially the end of her scientific research work on fluoride.
Irish TV Hard to Swallow? 2001documentary on fluoridation Doug Cragoe 2024-03-09 | This network TV documentary covers the controversial water fluoridation program in Ireland. It covers the toxic contaminants in the water fluoridation chemical used in Ireland at that time - scrubber liquor that came from Belgium. Some time later Ireland switched to a new supplier for water fluoridaiton chemicals located in Spain. That Spanish chemical is made directly from ore and has far less toxic contaminants.
BBC The F Factor 1993 Doug Cragoe 2024-03-09 | This is a BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation - government public service) TV documentary from 1993 covering the controversy over water fluoridation in Great Britain. After it aired, the producers got a lot of heat from government officials. There is another big push to fluoridate more of Great Britain as I write this in 2024, but it's very unlikely that the BBC has any plans to do another documentary like this one.
Fluorosis Doug Cragoe 2024-01-31 | Fluorosis, despite crippling millions of people in the world ever since man started digging wells for drinking water, has never had a broadcast level documentary made about it. One reason why: fluoride has been deliberately added to drinking water since the 1940's and fluoride tablets for ingestion are given to children today. Public knowledge of fluoride's hazards would cast doubt on pubic health and medical policies and cause resistance. A second reason: fluoride is an essential industrial chemical for our modern civilization. Hundreds of people came out despite the rain. Two years earlier an explosion at the refinery came very close to causing a catastrophe that would have released a deadly cloud of hydrogen fluroide and killed thousands of people. The rally was led by the Torrance Refinery Action Alliance.
Malene Teller Blume of Coop Denmark on fluorinated compounds Doug Cragoe 2017-02-16 | Malene is the Nonfood and Chemical manager for Coop in Denmark. This is the largest retail grocer in the country. A few years ago they became concerned about fluorinated compounds in food packaging, and soon had products without the chemicals made with fluorine. But microwave popcorn bags were more of a challenge to replace. This is the story of how Coop in Denmark sparked innovation - by taking all the microwave popcorn out of their 1,200 stores until two manufacturers developed new products without the fluorinated compounds. Now their sister Coops in Sweden and Norway also sell microwave popcorn without fluorinated compounds. Fluorinated compounds have a majority of fluorine atoms. That's what makes the chemicals toxic. These chemicals of concern do not break down in the environment, and are found in polar bears and dragonflies, as well as humans. Fluoride is two fluorine atoms combined. Denmark, Norway, and Sweden rejected fluoridation many years ago.
Air of Death - 1967 Doug Cragoe 2017-01-20 | Industrial air pollution including fluoride produced thick unhealthy smog. This Canadian TV production shows how Canada had no air pollution regulations at that time, while the United States had started implementing these regulations. After pollution controls were put in place and heavy industry declined in the United States we have much cleaner air today. The film also shows fluoride pollution from a phosphate fertilizer plant damaging crops, livestock, and several farmer's health. The farmers were diagnosed with fluorosis, but the company only paid damages for crops and livestock. That phosphate plant installed polution scrubbers and provided scrubber liquor which due to it's high fluoride content was added to drinking water for fluoridation in Canadian cities.
Dr. John Lee on fluoride Doug Cragoe 2017-01-15 | Dr. Lee talks about studies showing fluoridation ineffective. He also has a fascinating story about the first attempt to pass a state-wide mandatory fluoridation law in California. A young Jerry Brrown, governor at that time, asked a specially formed commission to give him one (out of the supposed hundreds) safety study on fluoridation. The fluoridationists could not produce even one safety study. The special commission dissolved in chaos and that was the end of that attempt at a state-wide mandatory fluoridation law. But Jerry Brown stopped being governor for a while, and a state -wide mandatory bill was passed by the legislature in 1995. Jerry Brown is once again the governor, and much of the state now has fluoridation because it cannot be stopped or voted out by citizens due to the state mandatory law.
Dr. John Lee reviews Industrial Fluoride Pollution Doug Cragoe 2017-01-14 | This video is from the 1980's. Dr. Lee treated patients with Gilbert's Syndrome by having them avoid fluoridated water. They all got better, and to prove it he did an experiment with a patient who was switched from fluoridated to non-fluroidated water several times. The key enzyme was negatively affected every time the patient drank fluoridated water. Dr Lee also talks about death rates in areas with natural fluoride and fluoridation.

Few environmentalists know anything about the damage from fluoride pollution, and even fewer in public health have any awareness of the problem. Lawsuits to recover damages from fluoride pollution have been very difficult to win, because the federal government has sometimes been on the side of the polluting industries. Fluoride is know as the "protected pollutant" in regulatory agencies. With "scrubber" pollution control systems now in place fluoride air pollution has been greatly reduced. "Scrubber liquor" contains the pollutants cleaned from the smoke and because it is cheap and has a high fluoride content it is the most commonly used form of fluoride added to drinking water for water fluoridation. The Troutdale Oregon aluminum smelter plant mentioned in this film is now a "Superfund" site where the federal government is paying the huge expense to clean up the pollution after the smelter was shut down. This was the only time a person in the U.S. collected damages for fluoride air pollution damaging their health. Despite the significant reduction in fluoride air pollution since this film was made, fluorosis is increasing in much of the world, including the United States.

National Toxicology Department Webinar from 12-2-2015 - Fluoride Doug Cragoe 2015-12-05 | In this part of the webinar the NTP talks about the science showing fluoride affecting learning and memory. They announced that they will conduct their own animal experiments to fill in the gap of knowledge about lower levels of exposure for experimental animals. Many years ago scientist Phyllis Mullenix refused to shut up when her high level studies showed a neurological effect. She applied, but was not given any grant money to continue her studies. This announcement is vindication for her. But when it comes to special F -(fluoride) - just because the innovative work of one scientist eventually causes federal experiments to be done, the original scientist has always long since been fired and forgotten. Others there in the NTP will evaluate and decide (under pressure) what lower levels of F in rats means for humans and if they can see effects. Will machines evaluate the rat behavior?
History of the International Society for Fluoride Research Doug Cragoe 2015-06-30 | Bruce Spittle, editor in chief of the scientific journal "Fluoride" gave this presentation at the 2014 conference in Thailand. "Fluoride" has been in publication for 47 years. Dr. George Waldbott founded the society in 1966. It's purpose was to investigate the biological effects of fluoride Waldbott was an accomplished allergist with many discoveries and published scientific papers to his name. He found out that some people have negative reactions to fluoridated water. That brought him up against the "titans" of polluting industries allied with public health. Since his time other doctors have confirmed his findings. But today public health still denies this sensitivity.

Malibu fluoridation protest in 2007 Doug Cragoe 2011-04-18 | Malibu citizens protest the start of water fluoridation in 2007. The public had no say in the matter, which is not unusual in California. The state legislature passed a mandatory fluoridation bill in 1995 to force unwilling communities to adding fluoride to their drinking water. This bill prevents voters from stopping fluoridation in elections. Los Angeles citizens stopped fluoridation with a vote in 1975, but got it anyway in 1999. There is no evidence that fluoridation has provided any benefit in Los Angeles, which cost $14 million to install and $1 million a year in fluoridation chemicals and maintenance.
Use non-fluoridated water when making infant formula Doug Cragoe 2009-08-12 | This short film was made to persuade the American Dietetic Association. They are currently revising their recommendations on the preparation of infant formula for health care facilities. Current government recommendations indicate that infants should receive only an extremely small amount of fluoride. When care givers use powdered or concentrate forms of infant formula and combine it with fluoridated tap water infants get a massive dose of fluoride, as compared to adults. This leads to an increased risk of dental fluorosis, and possibly other harm.
