The project had the following rules:
- Map format must be DOOM2 MBF21 [-cl21].
- Map must be created within an hour.
- Adding music, difficulty implementation and major gameplay fixes do not count towards the time.*
- Custom music for each map is mandatory.
- Custom textures are forbidden outside of the resource WAD
- The deadline is March 1st!
* I made use of this rule, as seen at the end of the recording.

I want to make it clear - This composition is entirely by AD_79, but they kindly asked me to upload it in their place.
When AD_79 first sent me a work-in-progress version of this track in March of 2022, I was blown away and immediately felt like it had a home in MAP29. Luckily, AD_79 agreed it would work in that slot and was happy for it's inclusion!
Since this isn't my piece of music I'm not sure what else to write here, but what I can say is this piece helped motivate me A LOT through development as it was one of the earlier compositions to make it into the WAD, I would often use the IDMUS cheat to listen to it during testing sessions for maps that didn't already have their music slot filled.

I'll be honest with you, I feel like I (Dragonfly) shouldn't be credited on this piece of music - during development Velvetic dropped a very early work-in-progress version of this MIDI for myself and the other devs to check out.
I decided to crack it open in Sekaiju and add a section (first heard at 1:03) based on how in my mind I heard the song progressing. To my surprise Velvetic took the idea and ran with it, making it a continued motif throughout the track.
The map that this MIDI accompanies is also a Velvetic creation. In my opinion this map does a lot of work to help the final episode have some ebb and flow - with it's punchy gameplay and soaring scenery I feel it's a very memorable map despite being the shortest in the episode, making it a very welcome breather map!

As always, it's a joy to collaborate with my peers in the Doom community, and this piece was no exception! Tristan and I were given a brief of sorts from Bri, where they sourced a few pieces of music as inspiration to help Tristan & I "get the vibe" that he needed for his map.
With that we played "MIDI Tennis", batting the MIDI back and forth between one another, making changes, adding sections and inspiring each other with new ideas until Vector was born. I feel we managed to achieve the desired sound as Bri was happy with the end result!
And let me just take a moment to say, the map this MIDI is paired with is just... wow. I want to live there; it's *gorgeous*!

Originally written for my 1st album release, this piece was written to convey a cold and lonely environment surrounded by a storm. Despite being titled Rainfall and the MIDI attempting to emulate the sound of distant rain, I still felt that the ice-cold tone of this MIDI felt like a good fit for MAP21, so I included it initially as a temporary track; but as time went on it became more and more evident that this MIDI was going to stick.
The main reason we were originally going to replace it was because GZDoom's packaged soundfont for MIDI playback couldn't play this MIDI correctly, but thanks to @TristanClarkMusic, that issue had been fixed prior to Eviternity II's release - Tristan made modifications to the soundfont to allow the SFX Drum Kit to play the various samples that the standard GM MIDI soundfont does, which means this MIDI could keep the percussion that's present. Tristan then passed it on to the GZDoom developers, who were kind enough to include it in the next version they put out!

This one started out as a joke. I stated in the development Discord server that Ukiro would probably want the music for his map to be nothing more than a long, extremely dissonant drone. After saying that, I took it one step further and made a start on this just to see... and yeah, he loved it! 😅
After confirming this was "the vibe", I then took the endeavour more seriously and wrote it to be fitting for the map - creating a plethora of textures that weave in and out of one another to create an unsettling soundscape to accompany ukiro's extremely unwelcoming behemoth of a map. This MIDI has seven "phases", intended to represent the heptagrammatical shaping of the map this belongs in, with the final of those phases being seven cinematic booms.
As I was composing I was starting to associate scenes and feelings to each section of the MIDI, with parts sounding like an ideal audio accompaniment to a sleep paralysis demon, or the dread of being in a warzone with an air raid flying overhead. I'd be interested in seeing how you interpret the various sections of this track.
Lastly, I shall give credit where credit is due - ukiro recorded their child playing a rather dissonant series of chords; it seemed fitting to include that short playthrough in this MIDI (with timing and note-for-note accuracy, might I add!), which can be heard just after 05:12 in the video.

Originally written for my 4th album release, the "Adventure EP" (see here: youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=etZJ4KOvVJY ), this is the second of two MIDI compositions of mine that were inspired by the more modern entries to Old School RuneScape's soundtrack.
This was composed with the intent of creating a piece that would suit a more lighthearted, almost whimsical feeling "old world" locale, which I feel is represented in MAP19, Spellbound, making this MIDI the natural inclusion for this slot!

I tried to capture a sound that's somewhere between militant marching bands and medieval in nature, and I find this style to be extremely fun to compose for!

Written to accompany the finely crafted Mesoamerican environment DMPhobos made, this piece was an interesting one to compose! I wanted to try to keep a sense of forward motion and energy present to suit the occasional moment of heated combat seen in this map, but on the flipside I didn't want to overdo it so that when the player is exploring around this nonlinear location after defeating the enemies, it doesn't feel comically out of place. It's hard to say for certain but I *think* I've managed to strike that balance? :)
Either way, this was another style of music to write in, and it was a LOT of fun, too!

This track was a fun one to compose, with it's sounds fluctuating between the whimsical tones of heaven occasionally being corrupted by something more demonic and "filthy". I do love metal-style breakdowns, so it felt extra entertaining to me to write a piece of music that gets interrupted with them.
After seeing a few Twitch streams I confirmed my fears somewhat, with this piece and it's gnarly pinch harmonics on the guitars being quite divisive amongst listeners - based on this I have toned down the squeals and improved the mix overall throughout this piece. 😅

Honestly, this is probably the piece of music I'm most proud of to-date, and I hope you'll agree it's a fitting accompaniment to Eviternity II's MAP03, Sonder!
This track is a good example of "make music, work out the theory later" - I had come up with the introductory piano section by totally disregarding any time signatures, just playing something that sounded good to my ear, then retroactively worked out that what I'd written alternates between 3/4 and 5/4 time signatures. 😅

This track wasn't composed specifically for Eviternity II, but instead was simply composed for the sake of making some music. After initially creating this piece, @TristanClarkMusic suggested it should be used as Eviternity II's intermission theme, and after including it into the WAD I wholeheartedly agree!

Just a small, single-site CS:GO map I whipped up for Deathmatch / 2v2 Wingman. Enjoy!

Song used in this video is "92 is half of 99", one of the tracks from the Adventure EP!
-----
It's time for an adventure! Here's my fourth release, the Adventure EP. I've titled it as an EP due to having a shorter tracklist/playtime than my previous releases, and these tracks are aimed at evoking a more adventurous feeling than my usual releases.
Included is a collection of six MIDI tracks in a variety of styles. As usual, you're free to use these MIDI's as you please, none of the tracks included here are directly tied to any specific projects except for Track 4, but I permit people to use it where they please in their projects - Just make sure you credit me wherever my music is used please.
As always, I'd like to think there's at least a little something for everyone in here - "92 is half of 99" is a piece inspired by the soundtrack to Old-School Runescape and might appeal to people's nostalgia; "Conqueror" conjures images of grand castles; "Unholy Matriarch" rips through you like a ruthless final boss; and "Do Not The Horse" gives you an energetic ending as you ride off into the sunset!
I hope you enjoy listening to these and/or using these in your maps!

I decided to steer clear of any safety with this one! With forty time signature changes, some tempo changing, intentional use of dissonance and chromatic note choices... this one's a messy beast, and I've titled it accordingly.
