Happy April fools! Hope you enjoyed the music :troll:
Anyways, this run was started in May 2023 when I found the crazy start bounce strat (slightly different from what rta does, which was just discovered at the time). All of the EV from the start section can actually be brought into and up most of the spiral due to the fact that your EV dissipates at a lesser rate when your wheels aren't touching the ground, which I can do by barely keeping the vehicle hitbox on the edge while keeping the tires off. After the boring snaking part (which was hell to optimize because of the nonlinear path) I can get a very small low cannon, however I can't get a super low cannon due to the boost panels before the cannon which are not avoidable. Then for the end strat I go outside the fence so I can rfh up the slope to get a much lower trajectory, barely go around the oob, then get a crazy lucky hop which preserves way more speed than most hops (just random QM bullshit). The EV from this can actually be brought into the start of the next lap as well.
Also, yes, I understand that rta counts this as shortcut but according to TAS rules it is decidedly no glitch.

Big thanks to Ejay for helping with the making of this video and Kierio for recording, prob would have taken way more time if I tried to do it on my own. Also, big appreciation to all the people who helped with the run as this is one of the most grueling tases I have ever been a part of.

This TAS has been on the stove for a while now, with us having started it around March 2024 just as a side project without any plans of beating bike. Initially, I was just messing around with the moonjump and trying to see if I could conserve EV for a bit longer after the landing. I ended up finding that, with really precise movement, you could land on the inside of the turn and hang your wheels off the edge so that the EV dissipation is very minimal.
I originally was only ever able to maintain 20 EV around the turn, but after a lot of optimization, about 65 EV was possible with a good exit angle, which could then be carried through the wavy road. Then after a lot of workshopping in the figure 8, we found that it was better to mimic bike strats at the beginning and then transition to the zipper near the end.
Props to Marth for finding the optimal zipper with a crazy instant landing trick into a slope boost landing which let us build some EV to cross the gap with more speed. I then found the super low cannon which allows for a clip backwards through the fence to land and shroom earlier.
The U-turn zipper was probably the biggest roadblock while making this TAS and is also the reason that I'm not finishing the 3lap before posting this, as it took around 5 months to get past it, even with on-and-off attempts from like 7 other TASers (huge thanks to Alego for finally getting us past that terrible section). It was originally kind of discovered by me and Michi in the half gravity TAS Comp task, then shown to be possible on 150cc by Thomas. I also found the EV strat after the U-turn, which is very annoying to optimize but also is very cool. Ejay helped with the turnskip landing, plus the RFH on the side of the ramp which sometimes just gave more speed randomly, and the ending miniturbo was found by me and only saves a few hundredths of a second.
Fun fact: this tas differs from the old kart RR WIP in every single section:
Shroomless moonjump, EV preservation, double flip trick on wavy road, reject road boost in figure 8, slope boost zipper strat over turnskip, super low cannon, shroom after cannon, clip U-turn zipper, EV after U-turn, rfh on side of ramp, ending mt strat.
Funner fun fact: This lap 1 is actually flap bkt by .008 because there was no actual NG flap and this beats the 3 lap bkt's lap 2/3 of 44.886.

for the first section, dmnz gave me the idea for skipping the second moving platform, sadly the platform on the left that would have given me a lot of speed wasn't possible to recover from in a fast way. The brief offroad hit at the start of the offroad section is needed to get the tight turn that is then needed to make the large gap jump that allows the section to be cleared no slow with spear. for the next section the paces were very particular so it's faster to just get a ton of airtime and skip needing the platforms whatsoever. The cataquack room just had the double trick because the opening of the hole is surrounded by trickable road. The next section is supposed to be a challenge where on the top the running lava streams throw you off to the side at 120 kmh, but they forgot to direct the ones on the side to the actual ride so instead they actually just shoot me forwards at 120kmh which I can then carry into the next section where I ride down the side wall to get a mini moonjump effect. I then rfh and uptrick off the mushroom ramp to get very low air and high speed (note that the more y velocity I have, the lower my xz velocity will be). You'll see that between ramps I actually hold right then left in the air, and that's because when going off a mushroom for some reason holding one direction makes you gain/keep speed more than just going straight forwards. Also worth noting that hitting near the middle on the canon is fastest since you have to cover less distance until the drop off point.
Hopefully I'll be able to get something else out soon but no promises, college has been taking up most of my time nowadays.
Started this task over half a year ago and picked it back up mid-late november. Probably my strongest run yet, though my lap 1 can probably be improved by at least .1.
Also, I already have an idea of what my next vid will be, but it may take a while to come out due to school.
very poor lap 1 but lap 2 and 3 were flawless
for real though, I do have a 200cc ct tas planned to come out on the 31st. Took me a while to actually finish but hopefully it's a fun little watch :).
sorry for the recent inactivity, been caught up with work + school, but I've got an auto kart tas in the making (done with 2.5 laps) :). Also, feel free to suggest a track for me to tas, most preferably a track that isn't just pure lines/ a joke.
the KC beginning is a bit unoptimal because I made it like 3-4 months ago on a whim. Other than that, I'm really proud of all of these runs. If you want to see any of these finished, or any other TASes done, just put it in the comments ig. Might finally get to doing CM glitch with kart soon but idk, all depends on if I get the entry.
lap 3 I get a really good turnskip but my net cycles are really off so I have to improvise a bit which was really annoying. also the ending ramp was a small amount higher than lap 1 and 2 because I couldn't land further on the ramp due to the trick boost not reaching as far from the net section (because of the bad cycle).
Shut up campbell I don't care about you optimal wheelies
lap 2 was very good but missed some strats so lost a bit (such as the instant land green ramp before the ramp before canon, and the turnskip after canon was bad because qm didn't want to work and I didn't want to go for more) could def get .6-.5
lap 3 used every strat I found and drove really well. I don't see a lap 3 going under .4. btw lap 3 gains .07 on lap 2 due to not needing to hop early for the first turn so it's not as much faster as it looks, but still quite a bit.
lap 2 is bks by a crazy amount, almost everything on this lap was done very well
lap 3 was a meh lap with a pretty bad cut
lap 2 is gaming and lap 3 is great, auto kart could reasonably go to a high 1:49 if someone wants to TAS this with a better last ramp lap 1
Pretty sure I was in a vc with some people during this run and asked them if I should go for cut lap 3 and they said yeah so I went for it lmao, though I could be misremembering...
the realignment is the only big mistake
also ik the tas is bad but that's what happens when you only use savestates for your tas
that's about it
ig it was also #1 on the ccc but :/
pathswitch at :45
probably no improvements today.
I'm prob just going to be doing tracks I want to all stream
sorry if the vid is a bit laggy
maybe possible with 1 shroom if done by an actual good TASer
and yes, I know my computer is shit at recording
And yes the car hit is faster
maybe
RFH code, rainbow timer code, TAS code, ghost always saves code, instant finish code, a speedometer code, Mr Bean's 200cc code, and a code that raises my max kmh to 500kmh
I'm so happy I was able to finish out this tas. I've been working on this off and on for about a month now and it's my first finished tas.
Q: Why is lap 3 so much faster?
A:I can get a trick bost into the finish line and I don't need to line up for the next glitch.
Q: why don't you trick into lap 2?
A: too much speed.
probably no improvements today.
I'm prob just going to be doing tracks I want to all stream
Other than that, lap 2 and 3 were so good, I think they were both bks. This is also odb (outside drifting bike) bkt and the first odb sc time to beat odb no sc bkt. I really like this run and will probably not touch it until someone else gets it.
this was recorded on dolphin
may have set this a while ago and forgot to record it but now I have...
