arps Mostly DemosceneNice cracktro by ROG for Vision Factory/The Company for the game Vroom, the music is: Random Voice - Monday and I believe it's from 1991.
And there's this too! A music remix and remake of this very cracktro - youtube.com/watch?v=huJnlZ14T5A (Seriously love that people are still visiting this page and dropping new versions etc so keep it up!)
You'll notice in the comments some discussion regarding the incorrect note at 1:08, I found a comment about it on Random Voice's website (http://www.fladen.net), here is the explanation:
"Thank you for your kind words and interest, and please excuse me for this late reply.
Yes I know the "note" in Monday sounds disturbing :-), but this only appears when the module is replayed in the Company/Vision intro.
I was actually surprised myself when the tune showed up in this intro, since I had no prior contact with these guys. Still I am thankful for it as they helped spread the tune.
Regarding the "error", I think it is because of an unfortunate combination of the portamento effect and a replay command set to restart the tune, not at the first pattern, but at the second.
The portamento effect "slides" the sound from one note to another over a given amount of time. When I listen to the tune in the intro it does not jump back to pattern 1 but to pattern 2. The lead in pattern 2 starts with a portamento effect originally designed to continue a note slide from pattern 1. When the song instead jumps from the last pattern to pattern 2, the new portamento "distance" between the two notes becomes to wide, and thus the little error i believe :-).
The real truth is that Monday was never completed. It was to short and the last pattern was not ment to be included as I thought it collided with the flow of the tune.
When the tune suddenly was spread, someone may have made an extended version (because the tune is really short) just copying the patterns to extend the module or by setting a replay parameter with a wrong pattern adress. It could also be the player in the intro interpreted the first pattern as 0 and not 1, but I really can't tell for sure.
Anyway, it is good to hear Monday still brings back fond memories for you as it is."

So using that rather clever conceit I have come up with this concept where I will upload a new musicdisk capture every Tuesday and call it Musicdisk Tunesday.
I realised Today that it was Tuesday and so you'll have to forgive me for phoning this one in a bit - I recorded it on my lunch break so as to not spoil the ten-week winning streak but I don't have a ton to say - not a bad little production, I like the interface, colours and logo and the music is mostly pretty decent. Probably would've preferred a little more variety but it does what it says on the tin and I've done worse things on my lunch before :)
Edit - I had some trouble with horizontal tearing and managed to resolve it, at least I thought I had - it looked OK while I was watching but clearly the scroller has been affected by something or other. I'm not gonna re-cap this one since it's about the tunes really but my apologies because this isn't quite an accurate representation

A small selection of techno'ish tunes. I quite liked a couple of these, one was very early 90s hardcore sounding which was my preferred one but there was a bit of something sounding almost breakcoreish, at least with the drum programming at least. Can't really tell you which ones because they are all symbols... Anyway, quite a nice thing :)
pouet.net/prod.php?which=97223 platform: Amiga OCS/ECS type: musicdiskEquinox - Terminator (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-09-30 | Wicked intro from Equinox, and just like Skynet, this intro is somewhat self-aware. The scroll text (which is a bit glitchy, not sure why) tells a tale of a Terminator punishing humankind, not with weapons but with a vast array of boring vectors. A tale of a hero pressing LMB on his Amiga in order to end it all, but we shall not!
And so, it plays out exactly how the Terminator had in mind. It can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, and so it is that this T-800 endoskeleton repeatedly beams vectors into our eyes.
And the resistance refuses to give in... until the scrolltext stops.
Fun idea, cool tune and doesn't overstay. Thumb from me, cheers!
pouet.net/prod.php?which=13255 type: intro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSThe Electronic Knights - Boozetro (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-09-29 | Sometimes when you read scrolltext from a party or from a group of friends sat in someone's bedroom you can almost visualise what it would've been like, or at least I think I can, as a scrolltext aficionado. Never has it been more apparent than in this fun intro...
First off, we've got a cool effect, giving a feeling I'm sure we've all experienced before, blurry vision walking towards home after a night out but then after that we're into the intro proper - We have a clock and a couple of gauges which we're assured are accurate and in real-time. The idea is that as time goes on people turn up at the keys, report how many beers they've drunk, declare their blood alcohol level and take note of the time and then start typing. Quite a few people at this gathering and as time goes on things get more unhinged and crazy - plenty of beers drunk, anger expressed, laughter heard, it's all here and honestly I enjoyed living vicariously through this scroller.
Cool idea, would've been nicer with a couple more tunes but it's a perfect time capsule of an event and I'm sure it'd bring a smile to any of them to re-read it again now.
I made a bit of a stab at trying to extract the scroll text (though ultimately failed) because I'd quite like to throw that stuff in the description whenever I make a capture, in case people feel like reading it at their own speed without having to wait for the scroller, I could do it with Action Replay but I don't have a way to dump it out to Windows from there, if anyone knows how I could do the same thing with WinUAE or some other method then I'd love to know how. Cheers! edit: I sort of made a bit of progress with Bartman/Abyss' plugin for Ghidra on a save state from UAE but each line of the decompilation seems to be moving one character at a time, I guess I would have to decrunch the original executable to get a contiguous block of data? It's late, I'm rambling, plz send help :D
pouet.net/prod.php?which=9419 type: intro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSSlipstream - A New Intro (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-09-27 | I mentioned in the AmigaDOS end-part (does anyone ever read those?) that there's a few ways to get me to read scroll text and I used one of them in that very message - promise something at the end to enforce further reading... another option, employed in this intro, is to start telling a story because of course I'm going to see how it ends..
Anyway, regardless of very sweary scroll text this is a nice production - silky spinny zoomy thingy on the left, a nice logo, pretty decent track and of course, RAINBOWS! Nothing to complain about, well worthy of inclusion here and of course the customary thumb (have I ever not given one?)

I went into this one blind, I saw the screenshot but I didn't pay much attention beyond the big 'JUNGLE COMMAND' logo so I hope you can forgive me for expecting this to be a collection of jungle tracks, in hindsight, there's a few clues that it wasn't going to be - firstly it's from 1988 so super early and pre-dating jungle music entirely but even more glaring than that, there's a cover of Axel F.
So yeah what we've actually got here is a mixed bag of tracks, some covers, some original and all in varying quality. I enjoyed it well enough for a playthrough but I don't think it'll be one I'll return to.

Great intro to this one, overall the quality has been high for all of these 'Fish and Chips' disks but I really did enjoy the interface for this one in particular. Great tune selection as per usual and interesting scrolltext to boot.
And so we've reached the end of the series, and it's been a great selection, not sure what's next but see you next Tuesday because there'll be something, for certain! Cheers :)

Anyway, it's a pretty cool design, obviously titled after the way we're seeing the multiple depths/playfields but the ribbons are a nice 3D looking effect. Tune is alright, nothing special but nothing to complain about either.

Needed something short and sweet to record on my lunch break today - I've been at a music festival all weekend and hadn't got this post scheduled but regardless, seems I've chosen a nice little compilation from these guys - enjoyable design and it's a sort of hybrid diskmag/music disk almost. Hopefully you enjoyed these tiny little chips too :)
I don't think I'll do the same fortnightly posting of this series as I have with the 'fish & chips' series from Sonik because it doesn't seem like the interface changes much/at all between issues and also because I can't find issue #3 but perhaps I'll throw the other ones on here from time to time.

I recorded this once already but since I enjoyed it so much, I wasn't too irritated once I realised I had some kind of interlacing going on... here's what I wrote the first time, it's all still perfectly applicable :) -
Once again, we're treated to a great selection of quality chip tunes with some nice style going on with the interface. The only complaint I really have is that the scroll in the top left is a little short, if it'd been wider I could've probably followed more of it while I shared my screentime with my phone ;) Can't fault any of these tracks though but I think my favourite was probably the opener, Parasol, from Stargazer (http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=48347). Cheers!
We've only got one more of this series to go and I'll be sad to see the back of it - it'll be up here in two weeks!

Design on this one is really nice, with those Melon design vibes, pastel colours and clean & simple lines. The music itself is alright, nothing particularly astounding unfortunately - three reasonably well done techno tracks and a more piano housey bit. There's nothing wrong with any of them but none of them really have anything particularly memorable about them either. Thumb for design alone, piggy on the tunes overall I reckon.

Pretty nice, at a guess it's pretty early but I don't know the date. Tune isn't bad and vector thing is alright. Cracked marble-esque logo isn't the most fresh looking thing but works alright in this context.

I'm recording this one a bit early which means that I might find time to search for the secret part before Tu(n)esday - if that's the case I'll release a bonus video to go with this. I enjoyed this one although there are a couple of issues - firstly the first tune isn't actually what's displayed on screen, you'll hear it repeat later on, and so the tune called 'What?' is the last tune on this video - I think the track selector just starts at the first in the list whereas the first loaded tune is about number 4 or something. Anyway, I liked the funky design and enjoyed the scroller, especially hearing about the considerable effort put into making sure the thing worked on as many Amigas as possible. Great selection of tracks too, the only one that I considered a bit of a dud was the Michael Jackson cover - I'm just not really a fan of covers, truth be told.

The post was well received and a guy named Henrik had a suggestion on how to improve the captures, the short version of this story is that they should be at 50hz and not 60 as all the others have been. Henrik kindly explained how he thought I could achieve this and so this capture is the first attempt - please let me know if it's an improvement or whatever really. Thank you Henrik for your time in helping me with this (also, thank you to the person who kindly mentioned this improvement in the comments of some video ages ago that I promptly forgot! sorry!)
With that out the way, nice little intro from these guys that I haven't featured before. Music is up my street and the dot stuff is nicely done - overall feel is good, looks plenty futuristic and colourful :)

So this one then... to be honest, I'm not in love, there's a lot of covers and I can only begin to imagine how many of them are going to get detected by the copyright filter... I found the interface quite interesting for a while - the channels being represented by little triggered animations, I think they're going for a sort of Mars colonisation type thing and it's pretty cool. So a mixed bag then really, a thumb for the interface and a piggy for the tunes imo, what do you reckon?

Loads of good stuff in here, really liked the tune (another one would've been nice, though!) The scrollers were really nicely done, liked how the early one adhered to the mountain and bounced off, loading screen was even nice and the huge vertical scrolling images was well done too. Nice cute little intro from BS1 (thanks @treforjames6428 for the acronym pointer!). There does appear to be some slight distortion on one of the percussive samples in the mod file, not sure if this is down to the emulation or not so apologies if the capture method has ruined it.

I don't really know what's happened here. This is a Tristar crack but it has an ACU intro in front of it... Is this some courier group that tags releases or something? If you know the answer, throw it in the comments please because I'm intrigued to say the least. What a tune - it's one of those ones that gives a nostalgic vibe to me, especially as it's from 1995, somewhat bittersweet because it wasn't long after then that I said goodbye to my Amiga. I don't recall this game ending up in my hands but can remember reading a (p)review of it on some console or other in Gamesmaster magazine. I only have vague memories of my later Amiga days, they all sort of merge into one general vibe so I can't really recall the stacks of floppies I'd find in the morning after my Dad had been over his mates place decreasing in size as stuff slowed down but I suppose they must've been.

Most of the Fairlight releases are either the THX sound/classic logo or the silent blue 'FAIRLIGHT' text, there's a couple of others though, and this is one of them - A pretty simple one from Fairlight, England but it's nicely done and I enjoyed the tune. I came across another one that's identical except the font of the word 'Fairlight' is different, this is the better one in my opinion and I don't think it was really worth uploading the other one since it's too similar.

Awesome crack(tro) from these guys, and I put the 'tro' in brackets because by their account they did some nice extra work on making the game play nicely with your Amiga - read the scroll text for more on that. And if it wasn't enough that we're treated to the Bubble Bobble music, I later learnt that there's more music on here too - you can hear that in the latter part of the video as I play with the F-keys. We've seen this a few times on the channel but this is the highest quality capture and it's got a nice long famous mod file. Lovely work, that FLT logo to me is probably one of the most enduring images, more so than the boing ball or anything Andy Warhol created.

This is *so* short but its iconic. That THX-esque sound and unforgettable Fairlight logo, there's really nothing else that needs to be said.

Whilst this isn't a requests channel, if people ask me for stuff I do tend to at least try and help out and so it was, user@phil5972 requested some cracktros from any of the following groups - Bamiga Sector One, Fairlight, Paradox, Quartex and Scoopex - I need help though! My ADFs are from TOSEC and so they are labelled with 'cr SCX' (Scoopex) but I don't know what the acronym for Bamiga is, any ideas? I've been through 20 or 30 QTX releases and they don't seem to have anything with any audio (I refuse to capture silent productions). Fairlight, Paradox & Scoopex are golden though so I am going to dig a few more of those out for the fella, like this nice parallax cloud scroll thing with a wicked Scoopex logo. Nice one! :)

Wicked! Nice and large shaded vector BST logo with lighting, great tune and a starfield. Easy thumb :)

This one looks familiar but without scrolling back through my videos I can't confirm that it's featured before... if so it was in front of a different game and from before I started capturing in 4K so here it is again (maybe) but upgraded so you can really enjoy those clean Melon lines ;)

Don't think I've come across the group 'Faith' before but it's a nice job on this clean intro. Nothing to dislike, although just this once I think there actually should've been more text, if only to explain the fade out/in of the page of text that is there. But yeah, nice!

Nice 'tro from Skid Row here, I enjoyed the music and the vector logo thing is nicely done - little bit more going on than a typical one-screener so have to give a thumb to this. Cheers!

Here's one that we might have seen before but would've been absolutely mullered by 480p mode on youtube - those vectors are pretty similar to the background colour and would've endered up rendered as complete mush before so if it's a repeat, it's a worthy one. Great track, lovely font, A++ would melon again.

Nice plasma effect on a decent TRSI font/logo with some 0xy arps and what more do you need? :)
type: cracktro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSNebula - Chip Suey (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-21 | A mixed bag - the interface has been really nicely done and most of the tunes are reasonable. A couple stand out as being great but the one called 'Delta' had all sorts of weird timing issues going on. Having said that, overall nice production. Lots of talk about Bob Mortimer in the pub... for those that know... I wonder if we'll ever hear him doing a WILTY? story about seeing the Nebula demosceners in a boozer in South London? ;)
pouet.net/prod.php?which=64332 type: music disk platform: Amiga OCS/ECSAspect - Star Wars Scroller (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-21 | I noticed a list on the sidebar of pouet saying 'Amiga OCS Demos With Starwars Scrollers' (pouet.net/lists.php?which=291) so I had a look and there's four entries and this is the only one that isn't already on youtube. So here it is now. I really like the logo and the music is pretty nice too. The scroller deviates slightly from the typical Star Wars intro text but I reckon it's close enough (plus, it's not my list, it's Dan of Lemon's). Anyway, do you know any more productions that'd satisfy the guy? Drop them in the comments and we can somehow let him know
pouet.net/prod.php?which=48564 type: intro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSIpec Elite - No. 3 in Sweden (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-20 | I'm not entirely sure who the governing body were that assigned rankings to the groups or even if such a body exists, more likely, I'd imagine, is that this is some typical self-deprecation from the Ipec Elite who we've seen being far from boastful in other productions featured on the channel. Anyway, quite a simple affair but I like the graphics and the music isn't bad, if a little short.
pouet.net/prod.php?which=73382 type: intro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSIntryx - Democop Announce (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-20 | I think it might be down to my configuration that we lost a few pixels off the right hand side but it really amounts to a single character for the scroll text. I really liked the Intryx logo on this, music was fine, rest of it servicable for an invite
pouet.net/prod.php?which=97227 type: invitro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSThe Avenger Hawks - A New Intro (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-20 | A small gripe is that the content is all re-used from elsewhere but to give these guys their dues, they admit to that in the scroll text and credit where they know who to credit. It's a fairly simple affair but it works alright and as a selection of bits and pieces I think it does a nice job. Thumb :)
pouet.net/prod.php?which=97352 type: intro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSAlcatraz - D.I.M 88 Pre Invitation (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-19 | Short and sweet. I like the way the decrunching happens, or at least the visual representation of it and shortly after we're given a couple of screens, a starfield and some mushrooms! Considering the early date on it, not bad, I wish the music actually progressed a bit, as it is, the loops are pretty short and sound like introductions to larger pieces.
pouet.net/prod.php?which=97372 type: intro platform: Amiga OCS/ECSTitanics - Deluxe View (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-07-19 | Well, this is an interesting situation - it seems as though the company known as Hagenau commissioned this production from Titanics to promote their parallel port video digitiser device (bigbookofamigahardware.com/bboah/product.aspx?id=292). It's a pretty cool thing to be honest, in the sense that it feels like a very early (1989) example of a somewhat narrative driven demo. Quite nice all in all and an interesting concept to promote a device.
I don't know how back I am but I would like to start capturing again, sorry I've been away for so long, had a lot on my mind and things takeover sometimes as I'm sure we all know. Cheers! :)
pouet.net/prod.php?which=97385 type: demo platform: Amiga OCS/ECSXerox - Wasted Time (Amiga Demoscene)arps Mostly Demoscene2024-04-03 | Won't somebody PLEASE think of the Lemmings?! Seriously, have they not been through enough? Well according to Xerox, no, they haven't. Anyway, what I initially took to be a fairly nicely executed one screen production with a nice logo, some sinewave plasma bits and copper bars turned out to be a really quite extensive multipart demo, tied together with little animations of Lemmings dying in worse ways than DMA Design ever killed them. I watched all of most of the parts but there was a lot of German text which I can't understand so hopefully you'll forgive the omission of some of the scroll text at least. Too many bits for me to comment on in any really meaningful way but especially enjoyed the sudden appearance of infinite bobs, quite a decent variety of tracks and enjoyed the aforementioned sine plasma thing. The last part was nice too, a nicely pixeled albeit risqué lady (& her twin) obviously involved in some kind of pink bubble bath action. What's not to love? Honestly, an unexpectedly long production but this time I was more than happy to watch it and I hope you will be too. Certainly not wasted time.
