On April 30, 2021, during Ingenuity’s fourth flight on Mars, NASA’s Perseverance rover made history as the first spacecraft to record sounds from another spacecraft on another planet.
The sound was recorded by, a microphone included with the SuperCam instrument aboard Perseverance. The microphone captured the humming sound of the blades and the din of wind in mono as the helicopter’s blades were spinning at 2,537 rpm
At the time of recording, the rover was 262 feet (80 meters) away. In the video, you can hear the change of sound as the helicopter leaves the area and then returns. That is called the Doppler effect).
Perseverance will capture more audio of the helicopter in future flights

The SN15 high-altitude flight test was attempted on May 5 from Starbase in Texas (Boca Chica). SpaceX has improved the SN15's structure, avionics, software, and engines, allowing more speed and efficiency throughout production and flight.
Like previous high-altitude flight tests of Starship, SN15 is also powered through ascent by three Raptor engines, each shutting down in sequence prior to the vehicle reaching apogee – approximately 10 km in altitude.
The four flaps of SN15 are actuated by an onboard flight computer to control the vehicle’s attitude during flight and enable precise landing at the intended location.
On April 30 Mars helicopter made another successful flight (the fourth one). The helicopter took off at 10:49 a.m. EDT, climbing to an altitude of 16 feet (5 meters). It then flew south approximately 436 feet (13m) and then back covering an 872 feet (266m) distance round trip. In total, the helicopter was in the air for 117 seconds, breaking the third flight record of 80 seconds.
This flight aimed for a longer flight time, longer distance, and more image capturing to begin to demonstrate its ability to serve as a scout on Mars.
This video was created by compiling more than 1000 individual movie frames sent by Perseverance rover. The frames captured by the rover's Left and Right MastCam Z Cameras

This is after NASA received Ingenuity's data of the high-speed spin test of the rotors on late Friday night.
The data showed the command sequence controlling the test ended early as “watchdog” timer expired.
The watchdog timer supervises the command sequence and give alerts on any potential problems. The problem occurred as the flight computer was trying to transition from ‘Pre-Flight’ to ‘Flight’ mode.
NASA is currently diagnosing the issue. They will later reschedule and re-run the full-speed test before the test flight.

Perseverance as a communications base station for Ingenuity will receive instructions from Earth and transmit the commands to the helicopter for it to fly. It will take about 6 seconds to climb to 10 feet (3 meters), which is a maximum height for the first flight. And then it will go into a hover for about 30 seconds.
Meanwhile, perseverance will be taking imagery of the flight and it will send the pictures back to earth on April 12.

The wear and tear of the wheels are caused by the hard, embedded rock on Mars when the 1-ton robot drives on them.
The damage isn't identical from wheel to wheel. Much of the damage is occurring in the middle wheels, especially the rovers’ left middle wheel
So far the damage has not imperiled the rover's mission.
NASA has made the wheels of the Perseverance rover much stronger than these to avoid the rapid wearing problem

The video was made by using images and data provided by NASA.
Curiosity Rover is a car-sized Mars rover designed to explore the Gale crater on Mars in order to find out if the crater has ever offered favorable environmental conditions for microbial life, and perform planetary habitability studies in preparation for human exploration.
Curiosity was launched on November 26, 2011, from Cape Canaveral. Using a series of complicated landing maneuvers never before attempted, the rover landed on Mars on August 6, 2012, at Aeolis Palus, a plain between the northern wall of Gale crater and the northern foothills of Aeolis Mons.
The rover’s mission duration was supposed to be two years. But in December 2012, its mission was extended indefinitely.
The Curiosity rover is the most technologically advanced rover ever built before. It is equipped with 17 cameras and a robotic arm with a suite of specialized laboratory-like tools and instruments.

This was after the rover finished charging it up to 100%.
Now NASA is waiting to see if the craft can survive surface temperatures down to -130ºF (-90ºC) on its own. The charge will help to power the helicopter heater so that it protects key components such as the battery and some of the sensitive electronics from harm at very cold temperatures.
The team will check the temperatures and the battery recharge performance over the next couple of days. If it all looks good, then it's onto the next steps: unlocking the rotor blades, and testing out all the motors and sensors.

1. Viking 1 Lander
The Viking 1 Lander was NASA’s first lander to successfully land on Mars. The lander was part of NASA’s Viking Project whose mission was to study the Red Planet and search for signs of life.
The lander was accompanied by a Mars orbiter. They were both launched in Viking 1 spacecraft aboard a Titan III-Centaur launch vehicle on August 20, 1975, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
After an 11-month journey, the Viking 1 Lander landed on Mars on June 20, at Chryse Planitia - a smooth circular plain in the northern equatorial region of Mars.
2. Viking 2 Lander
The Viking 2 Lander was NASA’s second lander to successfully land on Mars. It was also part of NASA's Viking Project. It landed on Mars in September 1976 -- immediately after Viking 1.
Like its predecessor, the Viking 2 lander was accompanied by an orbiter. Both the lander and the orbiter were launched in Viking 2 spacecraft aboard a Titan III-Centaur launch vehicle on September 9, 1975, 20 days after Viking 1 was launched.
NASA estimates the cost for the entire Viking Project was about $7.1 billion when adjusted for inflation.
