There are four Drive Modes that are preset from the factory - Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road and Terrain. There is also My Mode, which allows you to save personalized settings for steering feel, suspension tuning, acceleration responsiveness and motor sound to your preferences for a more engaging experience. When selecting a mode, you can then select the "i" icon on the infotainment screen to view information about the feature as well as helpful hints for each option.
• Normal Mode: Everyday driving
• Off-Road Mode: Maximum performance on sand, gravel, dirt, mud or slush
• Tow/Haul Mode: Maximum continuous output capability for demanding conditions

With 4-Wheel Steer, less steering input is needed for tighter turns at low speeds; at higher speeds, lane changes are eased as front and rear wheels steer together. Here's how 4-Wheel Steer operates in different drive modes
1. NORMAL MODE: At low speeds (less than 25mph), the rear wheels turn the opposite direction of the front wheels for maneuverability. At high speeds, both rear and front wheels turn the same direction for control and stability.
2. OFF-ROAD MODE: Similar to Normal Mode at low speeds. At higher speeds, unique calibrations give more freedom to maneuver the vehicle on rough terrain, making off-road adventures more fun.
3. TERRAIN MODE Has a more responsive rear steering calibration than Off-Road Mode, giving drivers more flexibility and capability to navigate in extreme off-road conditions like rock crawling or getting around difficult obstacles.

About CrabWalk Mode: Available CrabWalk allows you to drive the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup diagonally at low speeds, helping it traverse difficult off-road trails. Android Automotive features Google Assistant voice commands, Google Maps navigation, and the Play Store for third-party apps. Car makers can customize the UI anyway they see fit, while Google handles the underlying OS and functionality.
Unlike Android Auto, which is powered by a connected smartphone and merely projected onto the dashboard screen, Android Automotive OS lives in the dashboard and is powered by the vehicle's hardware. In the Hummer's case, that means a 13.4-inch central infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster powered by some seriously beefy silicon.
Beyond the Hummer, Google promises that we'll see more than 10 vehicles globally powered by Android Automotive OS from Volvo, General Motors and Renault. Android Automotive OS can currently be found powering the dashboards of the Polestar 2 and Volvo XC40 Recharge electric vehicles.

This one-of-a-kind, all-electric pickup truck builds on GMC’s history of engineering excellence and a refusal to compromise. With an initial availability of fall 2021, Edition 1 is expected to offer a powerful 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque (GM estimate), best-in-class 1,000 horsepower (GM estimate) and the ability to go 0–60 mph in approximately 3 seconds (GM estimate). These same impressive specifications will also be available on the HUMMER EV3X, which has an initial availability of fall 2022.

In-vehicle technology is a fundamental element of the HUMMER EV’s immersive experience and will be responsible for everything from tracking range and locating charging stations, to monitoring vehicle performance on and off the road — and even ensuring the right soundtrack is playing on that Moab excursion.
It will all be accessible through two large displays: a 13.4-inch diagonal color touchscreen that’s part of the GMC infotainment system5 and a 12.3-inch diagonal color driver information center display.
The cabin experience will be enhanced by advanced sound technologies, with HUMMER EV’s Bose Premium sound system with Centerpoint surround signal processing and 14 high-performance speakers to deliver a powerful and immersive listening experience. Beyond music reproduction, Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement uses Bose Active Sound Management capabilities, combining sound enhancement with noise masking to optimize the vehicle’s cabin acoustic environment.
Powered by Epic’s Unreal Gaming Engine, HUMMER EV’s graphic HMI displays make features and selections easy to find and intuitive to navigate at a glance. The start-up animation, along with different screen colors and distinctive graphic displays for different drive modes enhance the interactivity of the technologies and apps.
“The HUMMER EV comes alive when you interact with it,” said Scott Martin, HUMMER EV creative director, UX. “It involves and rewards you, enhancing the experience by making you a bigger part of it.”
Some functions can be activated by voice command, while smartphone-like swipe functionality makes scrolling and feature selection simple within the infotainment system. Feature selection through the driver information center is available through steering wheel controls.
