Tales of Vesperia- A Tragic Decision (Extended)

Snow isn't covered in this tutorial, but generally looks good especially on Himalayan mountains. You can find out how to create it here:

It was fucking bull shit.

I already had the saved file with everything I needed on the PS2 version, so I didn't record this on Chronicles.
I noticed that the order I recorded these videos is chronologically backward.

I am extremely overleveled, but it's essentially the same regardless of level because I would be guarding the entire time for the Might Charge (マイトチャージ) skills.

I got pretty cheap with the Corpse Shell. I normally use Soujinranbu (双刃乱舞) or The End (ジ・エンド), then continue the chain, but level 4 Soujinranbu would send AI flying. And we all know how quickly an Unknown human AI can react.

Splendid dance performance of a spirit (Tales of Xillia 2)
You know what? I'm pretty sure that "Mizuho, the Mystical Village" isn't in the skit viewer. You just have to sit in Mizuho for a while after talking to the chief, and it'll show up. I already passed that part, and I don't want to go through another six hours or so getting there again.
Two skits between Kratos and Lloyd involving status effects and the Unison Attacks are also not included in the skit viewer. You can trigger them before entering Triet after escaping the Sylvarant Base, and after exiting the Ossa Trail respectively.
As I've stated in the first video: Because affection skits aren't voiced, I'm not going to upload them.
lololoollol I'm reading this years later, and my god I can remember my thought processes while doing this shit. Cringy as fuck. There was even an attempt to self-censor myself looloololol. gg weebs
Rambling; ignore it if you'd like.
Holy cow, I replayed the GameCube version, and I forgot how smooth 60 frames per second looks. And, as usual, the first thing I do when I replay a game is skip everything, and load the save right at the end to beat up the final boss. I got into the habit of waiting to use Guardian against Time Stop, and to move away as Mithos' health lowers to avoid Shining Bind. Indignation Judgment is still very predictable and easily avoidable.
More rambling in the description. Ignore it if you'd like.
My first Tales game was Dawn of the New World, which was what hooked me into the series. Then I got Symphonia, and I ended up playing that 16+ times. I discovered that it's a matter of which language I hear the voices in first to determine whether or not I like the voice actors. Because I have Tales of Graces F, Xillia, and Xillia 2 in Japanese, I'm not too fond of their characters' English voices. But I think Mithos' English voice sounds a lot better, and more bad-ass, than his Japanese, especially, and I've mentioned this before, when he shouts "Judgment!" Eternal Sonata also supports dual-audio, and I'm finding all of the English voices to be better. Frankly, I think Sam Riegel should have used Allegretto's voice inflection from Eternal Sonata rather than Flynn's from Tales of Vesperia for Jude, since Jude is closer to Allegretto's age than Flynn's.
All of the following description text is rambling; ignore it if you'd like.
Basically, I've started the game three times from scratch. Whenever I started an EX New Game on the GameCube version, I played on normal experience with all my titles, Gald, tech usage, cooking abilities, EX Gems, map info, and a lot of other rewards I took for granted because I had an extra 16,000 or so grade available. I hadn't realized that I took them for granted until I got the PS2 version, and thought: "My gosh, I have such little health and no money to buy equipment." Of course, by the time I got to Izoold, I would do that EB minigame to sell the lemon gummies for money, but it got time-consuming. Then by the time I got Chronicles, I did the same thing again.
By the way, did you know that you can do five-hit combos with Lloyd's regular attacks? Have the "Add Combo" EX Skill equipped. I set my normal attacks to "O" for the PS2 and PS3 versions and "A" for the GameCube one, so simply replace the button with whatever and follow this: O, (left, right, or down) O, O, O. Without "Add Combo", you can do: (Left, Right, or Down) O, O, O, for a four-hit combo. I'm sure all y'all have figured this out long ago, but I didn't find this out until my second or third time playing by accident.
As you can tell, I recently got Chronicles and rushed through twice until I got to the skits player again. I'm not going to re-record 000-157.
Drawbacks of the PS3 version: Wider screen means larger file size; slower processing time; weird Times New Roman font; typos.
These aren't in HD because that would also mean a larger file size, which also means a significantly longer processing time. Regardless, you should be able to read the text easily.
You can ignore basically everything in the description.
I found that the localization team kind of got lazy with the naming of soundtracks and skits in the Sound Tester in Chronicles. "Starry Heavens (Heroic)" is definitely not "One New World". Then, because of that error, the rest of the soundtracks were misidentified. Luckily, there were only six tracks left or so. And speaking of the "(heroic)" tracks, I really liked how they let "Soshite boku ni dekiru koto (hiroic)" - I don't remember what they named it in English, and I don't really care - continue through the battle against Pronyma in the PS2 version and Chronicles. When I first heard it, I thought it would just end and cut to "The law of the battle" like in the GameCube version, and my thoughts included: "Oh man, they should have just let it continue through battle". So I was in for quite a surprise when they did what I wanted it to do. I thought they would use "Starry Heavens" for Chronicles, since that was used in the game's opening.
Also, I mentioned four years ago or so in one of my videos that you can simply attach Raining Tiger Blade immediately after Sword Rain: Alpha. That was wrong. You need to use Sword Rain: Alpha 200 times before you can cancel the final uppercut. I don't know why I'm posting it in this description, but, again, it doesn't matter. I realized that after starting over for the PS2 version, but didn't really think about it. In an unrelated matter, because of Shining Bind and Divine Judgment, getting the Last Fencer weapon got so much less annoying in both the PS2 and PS3 versions.

Skits: 103-157
I didn't mention earlier that there is a wind sound effect in the PS2 version, while up at the peak of the village, that can't be turned off, so you'll be hearing it being cut off every once in a while.
As a side note, I'm using CyberLink PowerDirector 8 to edit this, and I noticed that after about 12 to 15 minutes into the video, I can't zoom into the timeline too far to move the audio clips without the program crashing on me. I'm not looking for solutions; I just thought I'd share this with all y'all.
Expect more rambling in the next few videos.

Skits: 000-049
I ripped out the PS2 version's voices and edited them to the GameCube's English recording. With dual-audio being released with Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, I would imagine that the skits would retain their Japanese voices too. But I had another "what the heck, why not?" moment.
I tried to synchronize the voices to the character frames as best I could. Unfortunately, they were timed differently, so that was a lot more editing than I anticipated.
I will not be uploading the affection skits because they are not voiced in either English or Japanese.

Skits: 050-102
The "President's Job" skit was a little weird in which the PS2 version's mouths were timed a lot more differently: Sheena's "...Uh..." line is a lot shorter in the GameCube screen, but after she and Zelos leave, the voices line back up with the skit faces.
I had a small lucky break from skits 91 to 96, where Namco got lazy and just made the characters' mouths move the entire time they talked.
Spoiler alert:
In Chronicles, Colette randomly wears gloves when she gets shot by Forcystus, then loses them for every scene afterward. I don't remember if this was in the PS2 version. I'd go check in that version, but I'm still forming a pact with Gnome.
How to be overpowered.
Nice try, Frederic. But Zamrazac isn't going to work this time.
I was definitely overleveled in the first playthrougth.
Levels: 42 - 46
Second Playthrough
EDIT: I tried again without Chopin, and it turned out to be Salsa's Shadow Silhouette.
You can tell that I'm playing Eternal Sonata again.

Music Used:
"Elle is Elle" (Tales of Xillia 2)
This was about as tedious to do as it should be to for you to watch.
To do front-step damage, you need the skill "Assault Step" (アサルトステップ).
This is more of a test with the new recording hardware.
This time, I'm less over-leveled, I have less over-powered weapons, better skills equipped, and a better TP-consuming combo. Basically, this one is a lot better than the first.
Bisley is still a huge punching bag.

As the title indicates, all of the voices have been replaced by their respective Japanese ones. This video was made about two years ago and I had neglected to work on it and eventually forgot until recently.
It took me a while when I couldn't find Lloyd's overlimit voice file, so I ended up ripping it from the PS2 version. I don't remember if Genis' was there and I didn't recognize it, but I got that from the game as well.
Lloyd's and Mithos' voices were the biggest pains to deal with, but I could have copied and pasted Lloyd's attacks with little changes later. I had originally thought that I would have had to add a file for every hit against Mithos, which made me not look forward to actually work on this, but I realized that the game doesn't even do this, so I half-assed it as well.
Frankly, I'd prefer Mithos' English voice over Japanese, especially when he uses Judgment in his first form.
I had lost several hundred or thousand frames while recording the second battle, but I liked it, so I did what I could to synchronize the audio with the video. There are parts that are still off, but they will fall back in sync as the video progresses. I am so glad that Mithos doesn't have any audible voice files for getting hit in his second form.
I really don't know why I didn't just use the miracle bottles on everyone after the first Retribution. And if Genis hadn't gone into overlimit, I wouldn't have been able to add Mithos' cut-in. I like when things fall into place.
Originally recorded on November 24, 2011.
What the fuck was wrong with me?

I played this on the easiest difficulty, but that wasn't the purpose of this video. Rather, "Betting On the Last Guide" definitely could have been used in this fight scene.
Sorry about the quality. I was using the same old recording garbage from 2009, and didn't get a new one until October.
Also, don't tell me that this isn't how Victor killed everyone. I know.
