In this video, I'm making a storage case for organizing my huge amount of drill bits! Full plans with all dimensions are available at shopwwmm.com on a pay-what-you-want basis.
Five Main Reasons to Make This Drill Bit Case:
• Organization: The case allows for neat organization of drill bits by size and type, making it easier to find the right bit quickly without rummaging through a cluttered drawer.
• Efficiency: Having a well-organized case can save time during projects, as it minimizes the effort spent searching for the right bit, especially when working under time constraints.
• Customization: Building your own case means you can customize the layout and size to perfectly fit your specific collection of drill bits, including accommodations for unusual sizes or specialty bits.
• Aesthetic Appeal: Using a high-quality wood like cherry and applying a fine finish not only makes the drill bit case functional but also a visually appealing addition to your workshop.

Get ready for summer by building this clever wooden planter box for your outdoor space! It's eye-catching and easy to build. The idea behind this is that you don’t have to go shopping for any special sized pots to set inside. A regular 5 gallon bucket widely available at hardware stores and home centers will work perfectly. Just drill a couple holes in the bottom for drainage!

If you're wondering why you would want to bother making something like this, here's a bonus video: youtu.be/f8EYajiDwaw
Remember that Folding Tray Table I made during the lockdown woodworking series? Well, I'm revisiting it in this video, and it's a mix of drama and craftsmanship lol.
I'll be using leftover Redwood boards from my deck project to create the tabletop. It's a simple process, but it requires attention to detail. I've got plans available at shopwwmm.com/products/folding-tray-table , where I've outlined how to make this entire table from just an 8-foot long 2x6 board.
Join me in the workshop as I guide you through various steps. I'll show you how to edge join the boards for the tabletop, add chamfers for a neat finish, and even how to handle dowels for the legs. There are a few unexpected moments, like dealing with broken pieces (trust me, we've all been there), but I'll share how to recover smoothly.
The Folding Tray Table might look intricate, but I'm here to prove it's an achievable challenge. And the best part? You'll be left with a versatile folding table that's perfect for various uses. So, if you're into woodworking adventures and attention to detail, this video is your ticket to a rewarding project. Join me in the workshop as we create something awesome together!

Hey there, in this YouTube video, I'm going to show you how to make an awesome scrap wood project - a book-shaped box. The cool thing is, you don't need to buy any new lumber for this; just use some hardwood you have lying around. I recommend using hardwood over softwood; for this project, I'm using a nice piece of cherry.
First off, I start by working on the spine. I use my crosscut sled to remove the middle part of the spine. Setting the blade to 3/8 inch height, I make the cut, setting up a stop block for accuracy. A crosscut sled is awesome for this, making the small piece safer to handle.
Now, I want the outer part of the spine to have a curve, so I mark where I want that curve to end up and use a random orbit sander to shape it. Just a bit of material to remove, and it's done.
Moving on, I need to cut notches in the book covers to fit into the spine. With my crosscut sled again, I make those cuts, ensuring I have proper support.
To thin down the covers, I'm going to re-saw a board. A bandsaw is ideal for this, but I use my table saw with careful setup to do the job. Safety is a priority; I use a variety of tools like push sticks, a feather board, and a special fence for stability.
Now, the exciting part: gluing the spine and covers together. I make sure to align everything perfectly. The hinge is a bit tricky, and I use dowel pins for a smooth open-close action.
Finishing touches include chamfering edges, rounding corners, and applying lacquer. I line the interior with felt and fine-tune the hinge. And voila, there you have it - a beautiful book-shaped box, all made from scrap wood!
So, that's the rundown of how I created this awesome project. Remember, it's all about using what you have and getting creative with the tools you've got. Stay safe and enjoy your woodworking journey!

In this video, I'll demonstrate how to make a simple side table using solid lumber. These are classic table-making techniques and can be used for making any table.
Some of what you'll learn:
• Selecting lumber with interesting figure, even if it has knots or imperfections, to add character to the project.
• Assessing and preparing the boards for the tabletop.
• Gluing the boards together to create the tabletop and addressing any bowing.
• Tapering the table legs for added sophistication.
• Cutting out and assembling the apron pieces using pocket hole joinery.
• Using tabletop clips to accommodate wood expansion and contraction.
• Filling voids in the tabletop with a mixture of sanding dust and white glue.
• Sanding and finishing techniques, including using spray lacquer for a durable finish.
• Emphasizing the beauty of natural wood and the potential for wood to change color over time.
The video provides detailed insights into the woodworking process, focusing on creating a simple and elegant table. It also encourages you to embrace simplicity in woodworking design and showcases various techniques and tips throughout the project.

Frank Howarth @frankmakes would create the first woodworking channel on July 8, 2006, followed shortly after by Marc Spagnuolo @woodwhisperer on Oct 18, 2006 and Matthias Wandel @matthiaswandel on Apr 9, 2007.
The recession in 2008 contributed to only a handful of new channels emerging over the next few years. Ones who are still posting today include Carl Jacobsen, Colin Knecht, Chad Stanton, WoodWorkers Guild Of America, Chop With Chris, myself, Ana White, Jon Peters, Alain Vaillancourt, Stumpy Nubs, Samurai Carpenter, John Heisz, and Paul Sellers.
In 2013, the flood gates opened, ushering in the Golden Age of YouTube woodworking and maker channels (2013-2017), followed by the Influencer Era and the COVID era.
If you’ve been a long time YouTube viewer, I hope you enjoy this nostalgic look at the early days and if you’re new to the platform, maybe you’ll check out some of this early content. A lot of it might seem rough by today’s standards, but it was content made by a few passionate people for the sheer joy of sharing videos about woodworking.

One of the best things about woodworking is the element of discovery. It’s a hobby filled with challenges to overcome and problems to solve. And while this is part of the process, there are a few things that would have saved me some unnecessary struggles, frustration, and self doubt.
