GARMIN ClimbPro Update: Anywhere, Anytime, Any Road ↖️🚴🏼 Shane Miller - GPLama 2023-04-11 | The MOST requested feature people have wanted for Garmin ClimbPro is finally a reality, as long as you have a newer Edge GPS unit (540/840/1040). No longer do you have to load a pre-defined route for ClimbPro to detect upcoming climbs, it'll now happen automatically as you ride. The Edge units will also 'scan around' your local area looking for climbs using the new Climb Explore and also display climbs on the standard map page. In this video I dig into all the details of this new update. I also put it to the test on road, MTB, and gravel. And the Hammerhead Karoo 2 also comes along for the ride to compare how the two GPS units detect and display climb information. Has Garmin Broken ClimbPro? Road Tests, Failures, and a Workaround! Shane Miller - GPLama 2023-04-05 | Garmin ClimbPro has one job - To let you know when a climb starts and when a climb ends. Pretty simple when it comes to routes created by Strava, right? Well.... sometimes not. After encountering my own lag/delay issues with ClimbPro recently, and being prompted by a few others, I went deep down the rabbit hole of route/GPX analysis, comparisons, and today I was out road testing a workaround to the problem of LAGGY or DELAYED ClimbPro on two Garmin EDGE GPS units. The summary is that some routes syncing from Strava to Garmin Connect may become 'stretched' or phase shifted resulting in an extremely poor performance with ClimbPro. Loading the GPX directly from Strava into the Garmin EDGE is the solution for now.... Installing Shimano 12 Speed Di2 Road Lever Firmware Updates with PC Link Device (SM-PCE02) Shane Miller - GPLama 2023-01-12 | All current model Shimano 12 speed 'wireless' hydraulic levers (ST-R9270, ST-R8170, and ST-R7170) can only have their firmware updated using a WIRED connection at this point in time. There are two methods of getting this done with the DuraAce and Ultegra levers, and only one method with the new 105 Di2 levers.
