FennéCrafts - 2022 Fursuits - Year In Review FennéCat 2023-02-16 | Another year has come and gone! I managed to create 32 suits this year, breaking my personal best record of 30 that I set in 2019. I'm both happy but also kinda disappointed. I wanted to do more, and after seeing other makers that have gone well beyond this with their numbers this year, I feel inadequate. xD Who ended up being your favorite this year?THE FUTURE STATE OF FENNÉCRAFTS~Anyhoo, I'm sure you're all curious about the future of FennéCrafts, as I've been saying since last Spring how I'm switching careers this year in favor of other artistic pursuits. Being a full time fursuit maker is too unsecure of a job, and solely relying on the fandom financially stresses me out badly. I will still be switching careers this year. However, this does NOT mean I'm disappearing or will stop fursuit making all together! It'll just be less in focus. I suppose "closing shop" was too harsh a phrase to use. But really I just want it to be more of a hobby where I can still sell them but not solely rely on it for all my bills. I especially love selling at conventions and I already have TFF lined up in March to do AA and offer some suits. :) So please, don't worry! Just expect my posting/output speed to change up a bit. It'll likely be more frequent with premade suits during convention times ❤️ (commissions will likely never reopen though, unless under some weird circumstances. Attempting My First Lamb Cake! (Easter 2022) FennéCat 2022-04-18 | Happy Easter! 🐣Have some lamb cake! I never usually put my cooking/baking on my feed but I love how this came out. ;W; It's such an elaborate cake for me and I learned so much! This is also my first time ever making a Lamb Cake in general. ;u; Took me 8 hours overnight. Was my first ever attempt at fondant as well as cake sculpting (I didn't use the traditional lamb mold. I sculpted the body from a regular pan cake and built the head and legs with fondant over rice crispie). My grandma apparently used to make traditional lamb cakes every Easter but it wasn't something my mom continued later on. So I never made one either. -UNTIL NOW! But as a result of watching hours of "Nailed It," I had to get fancy... Hence- 8 hours of work instead of just getting the usual lamb mold. While I do like her a lot from the front views, I'm not a fan of how her profile came out. Much too squished/chibi. But- I'll now know to remedy this next time. I've taken $100 off of what I was originally going to charge for this design due to the squished up snoot. ^^; Hopefully my next attempt will be more like I want (and then I can try to do a masculine face!).Now some notes about her! Her hair is made from 7" - 8" NFTech fur. She features cute little 3D printed piercings by Recursive Dynamics and unlike all my other suits, she lacks a stitched on smile. And most notably, This is also my first attempt at making bendable ears!
