This song cover was created using a Minecraft datapack to animate the visualization and to play the correct noteblock sounds and pitches. Unless stated otherwise, all noteblock sounds are recorded from vanilla in-game audio. You can tell this by positional audio in the video. No "playsound" command was used to play any note. Because of this, like redstone music creators, I am limited to the Minecraft 2 octave pitch limit. However, I am able to create songs that run at 20 ticks per second rather than the standard 10 ticks per second.
All animations, unless stated otherwise, are also created using Minecraft datapacks and recorded from real time in-game footage. I usually sprite out and plan most sprites and pixel art in Paint.NET before building by hand in Minecraft. For animations, I usually build the first couple of frames to make sure they look good in-game before using a tool I created to convert the rest of the frames to NBT structures.

Mettaton's Overworld sprite and animation were built by hand using command blocks. His battle sprites were tool-assisted when building but also animated using command blocks. Frisk's sprites were also built by hand (yes those were build in Minecraft). If you decide to use the Mettaton animations, be careful. The Overworld animation runs fine but his battle sprites will quickly grind your server to a halt.

I was originally just going to post the music, but I saw this cute animation and I just had to build it out!
Even though Ankha's animation came out OK in this video, it did NOT want to cooperate with me. It's (structurally) quite a bit bigger than most of the animations I've done on this channel, which caused Minecraft to chug quite a bit even on my gaming PC. I had to record until it finally ran smoothly just enough for me to loop it. Sorry for anyone disappointed that she isn't synchronized to the music, but it was hard enough to get this thing to behave nicely as it is! Maybe some day I'll experiment and figure out a more efficient set of commands to run this thing.

Sorry this took so long to get out. This song went through several different iterations until I settled on this one. The song sounded awfully empty, and I spent a few days trying to figure out what was missing. I finally figured out that I had completely missed the rhythm section (in the right channel). I added it and the song felt a lot more rounded out.

I've been a big fan of the series for the long time, and I've played all of them (yes, even Days of Ruin). In celebration, I'll be posting several CO themes in the next few weeks.
Nell's theme is a fun song to play on guitar. It's a very loose song - there are many parts where the rhythm guitar and bass don't play on the same beat, but it sounds great and gives the song variety. That being said, that sort of classic rock-style looseness doesn't really translate well to Minecraft note blocks. It makes it sounds like I made several mistakes while transcribing.๐ I did my best with this theme, but it still sounds a little weird to me in some spots (especially the legato at the end). Oh well. Either way, I hope you guys enjoy it. ๐
