Happy New Year everyone! At long last, here is the full movie of Jurassic Shark III: The Revolution, the third and final installment in the Jurassic Shark film series. I know it took incredibly long for the full movie to come out, and there's a reason for that. You'll notice that many scenes were shortened or cut from this version of the film, as the original cut ran at nearly four hours. I'll explain a few things below.
Though the film finished airing in 2016, I didn't want to release the full movie knowing how long it was, and instead I chose to cut out many parts of it. I spent the last two weeks cutting the movie down from its 231 minute running time, meaning 129 minutes were scrapped. My biggest obstacle with editing was dealing with the music. Unlike my recent projects, I never saved a version of the film's audio without the music, meaning that any area where shots/scenes were cut out had to be edited so the music still blended together. Dealing with this was a difficult task, but all in all I'm pleased with how it turned out.
Jurassic Shark III: The Revolution possesses a quality that may be lower from many of our recent works, but nevertheless, it was a crucial project for me as a filmmaker. I learned so much from the film, and the knowledge I've gained me since allowed me to deliver this version of the final cut.
Cut Scenes: This version of the film features several large changes, including the removal of the Simon assassination subplot, Simon's opening dialogues, and all of Marcus's scenes. Marcus was a supporting antagonist who I found served little purpose in the story, so his scenes were removed. Many smaller scenes were also cut down a lot, including Owen meeting Russell and Gabe, and Keith meeting Russell and Gabe. In addition, the Bombshark gunfight towards the middle of the film originally ran at seventeen minutes; I cut it down to three minutes and also rescored much of the scene. The final gunfight was also cut from eighteen minutes to ten minutes, and parts of it were also rescored.
