Johnny Cage meets Liu Kang, Sub-Zero and Scorpion for the first time in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023). After defeating Kenshi inside his Malibu mansion, Johnny answers the door expecting the police — only to find Lord Liu Kang and the Lin Kuei waiting for him.
Johnny believes the entire encounter is an elaborate prank arranged by his wife. But when Liu Kang orders Sub-Zero to free Kenshi, Johnny tries to intervene. Bi-Han responds by attacking Johnny and smashing one of his expensive artifacts, leading to Johnny Cage's first fight against Sub-Zero.
