“34 years ago today I was murdered. I was 14 and had my entire life to live. My family is still looking for my killer." - tweeted January 17k 2014 @BillComeans

On Jan 7, 1980 Bill Comeans left his house in New Rome, Ohio and didn't come home. He was found by his father and brother a few blocks away in a snowy ditch by the railroad tracks, his own winter scarf around his neck, dead.

Although they were horrified to find their son strangled, the family had a clue to what happened as Bill had been attacked twice before by two men who had wrapped a bicycle inner tube around his neck in the first attack and tied a rope around his neck in the second attack, leaving him unconscious under a tree. It appeared this time they carried through with the homicide. After all threatening letters had been left in his locker and the lockers of his best friend and girlfriend at their school and eight families in town had received threatening letters as well. Police thought the anonymous letters were a hoax until Bill's death....originally ruled a suicide but now listed on the unsolved Ohio Attorney General case site as a homicide.

So, what really happened to this teen? Was he the one leaving the letters and faking his attacks and then doing himself in or where his parents and his sister who is still seeking answers correct that he was murdered?

It sounded like a charmed life. George Smith was handsome, well-liked, got a business degree and was set to take over his father's business, Cos Cob Liquor in Greenwich, Connecticut. Then at age twenty-six he married twenty-five-year-old teacher Jennifer Hagel ion June 25, 2005 in a lavish outdoor wedding at Castle Hill In in Newport and off they went on a honeymoon cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas.

They would not finish their honeymoon together. Seven days into their 12 day Mediterranean cruise, George Smith went over the side of his stateroom balcony on the ninth deck, hit the lifeboat awning and fell into the sea.

In spite of an onboard investigation, a Turkish investigation, an FBI investigation, and a private investigation.....the case remains a mystery. Did the wife have something to do with what happened to him? Or was it a group of three fellow partiers known as the Russians or the Russian-Americans? How did the fourth fellow from California who joined the group play into the actions of what happened?

Suicide was ruled out. So, it was down to accident or murder. What does the evidence point to? I have a theory I feel may have been overlooked!

In 2003Air Force Colonel Philip Shue and his wife Tracy put a deposit down on a house they were buying in Alabama since they were both retiring from the military. The next morning Shue crashes his car into a tree on the way to work at Lackland Air Force Base. He dies instantly and, if it weren't for the gash in his chest, missing nipples and duct tape on his hands and feet, it would have been considered an accident.

However, due to his bizarre driving prior to the crash and his straight-on slam into a tree (without braking) , his death is ruled a suicide.

His wife was not happy with that ruling. She believed he had been tortured and died in an escape attempt. His fingerprints were not on the duct tape and there was no knife in the vehicle. He had been receiving warning letters that his ex-wife was plotting to kill him to get the million-dollar insurance policy that she would get upon his death.

Eventually, a judge ruled that his death was a homicide, but the police department will not change the manner of death nor will they reopen the case.

So, what will my analysis of the case conclude? Was this really a suicide or was this a homicide that fell through the cracks?

DNA has matched to this man that was not on the suspect list, at least not on the radar of the pubic with what they had learned over the years.

Perry Kouroumblis, 65, was only 17 at the time two beautiful young women, Suzanne Armstrong and Susan Barlett were stabbed dozens and dozens of times in their home, ending their live in a horrific brutal way.

Zuk was on holiday in Egypt when she was taking to a hospital and threw herself out a second-floor window, dying a few hours later from her injuries

With the trial just wrapping up in Auckland, New Zealand, will the jury find retried eye surgeon Philip Polkingharne, age 71, guilty of murdering his health administrator wife, Pauline Hanna, age 63 on April 5, 2021?

The Crown says he strangled her and then staged the scene to make it appear she had taken her life. In a trial awash with "salacious behaviors" (yes, this really is a fact as (Pauline called her husband "a sex fiend" who had affairs and many visits with prostitutes during their marriage and supposedly took part in a threesome at his request). Drugs on his part (methamphetamine) and medications (depression medicine, phentermine and sleeping pills) and alcohol on her part....volatile behaviors, a double life....all this has been brought up at trial.

On June 2, 2007, Hugues de la Plaza was found dead in his apartment in San Francisco. He had been stabbed three times in the abdomen and chest, the final stab near his neck punctured his carotid artery. There was blood outside his apartment on the steps and inside his apartment in his kitchen and living room. Only his blood and footprints were found, there was no sign of a struggle and there was also no sign of the knife that took his life.

The medical examiner ended up ruling the manner of death as "undetermined." The police believe he killed himself. Family and friends think such a concept is ridiculous and have fought for years to get more investigation on the case.

The case is one of the major mysteries true crime channels can't help but include in their unsolved list.

You can find a 48 Hours show on the case which is pretty interesting. I will warn you it has massively long advertising and if you stop it and try to come back, I could never start it again except at the beginning.

The Sudden Impulse A Profilers Review & Analysis of Bernt Stellanders Book and Theories #mccann

Profiling with Pat Brown 2024-09-02 | Bernt Stellander's 800 page book on the Madeleine McCann case is quite thorough and well-explained. His major points are the Maddie died on May 2nd and not May 3rd and her boy is buried on a Rocha Negra hill near the vacation flat.

I disagree with both theories. After reading Bernt's book and considering both issues, I stand strongly with my theory that Maddie died on May 3 and I feel the evidence proves this. As to her burial place, while I am not that opposed to Bernt's theory, I think that Maddie's final resting place is more likely outside of Praia da Luz.

On December 27. 1985 Dian Fossey, the American primatologist studying gorillas in Rwanda was found dead in her camp cabin in the Virunga Mountais of Rwanda. She had been whacked with a machete. No one has ever been properly held accountable for her murder.

So, who did it? Was it the poachers she was in battle with, was it a thief in the night, was it a disgruntled employee, was it a hit ordered by the Rwandan tourist bureau who was tired of her anti-tourist gorilla observing stance? Was it a "friend" who wanted to steal her writings?

I will examine all these various possibilities, their motives and how the crime scene and history supports or doesn't support the persons of interests' involvement.

Diane Kyne was strangled in 2010 in her Seminole, Florida home. Two 911 calls were made. One came from her son who said his stepdad killed his mom. The other 911 call was from Diane's husband who said her son just killed his wife.

The son, Kevin Kyne, was prosecuted and found guilty. He got an appeal and another trial. He was found not guilty.

So, did he really kill his mother? Or did his stepdad? The majority of comments on this case point the finger at Diane's husband. Are they correct or are they falling for a defense tactic that got the son out of prison?

In a lovely park known as Templeton Woods just outside of Dundee, Scotland, the naked body of 18-year-old Carol Lannen was discovered in 1979. Then, eleven months later, 20-year-old Elizabeth McCabe was found naked and strangled to death just 150 years away from the Lannon crime scene in the same park. Both cases are still unsolved.

So, who killed them? Was it a serial killer? How does one profile this crime? We have a documentary "In the Footsteps of Killers" came out with a review of this case in Episode One. You can see it on Channel 4 if you live in the UK or use a VPN if you don't.

But, the show is quite dreadful and grueling to watch. Not well done! But, in it, you will see Professor David Wilson (criminologist), Dr. Graham Hill (criminologist), a couple of detectives who worked the cases, and Emilia Fox who comes along for the ride and serves little purpose except to serve as someone to have a conversation with. All give their analysis of the evidence and present a profile of the killer or killers and some come have suspects they believe are guilty.

Is this a good representation of profiling? I will delve into that and offer my own thoughts on if the crimes are connected, if there is a serial killer at large, and who did the better job of analyzing the evidence.

On October 8, 2009, the Jamison family - Bobby, Sherilynn and their daughter Madyson packed up their truck, and drove with their dog off to check on some land they wanted to purchase in Red Oak, Oklahoma, thirty miles from their home in Eufaula. They were never seen again. Their truck, dog still alive inside, was found a few days later, but their bodies were not found for four more years, three miles from the vehicle. Cause of death remains unknown.

To say this family had issues is an understatement. They seemed to have family issues, marriage issues, health issues and mental issues. The theories on this case range from murder by a drug cartel (Bobby believed his father was involved in drugs and some think they were into drug dealing) to Bobby's father killing them (Bobby had filed a restraining order against him to family suicide to murder/suicide. Left in the truck were their family IDs, wallets, and $32,000 in cash in a bag. The gun Sherilynn owned and supposedly carried was not found at home or in the truck or at the site of the bodies. Due to some strange ideas and behaviors of the couple, some think they were killed by a cult.

There is one documentary on MAX called “Disappeared: Paradise Lost (Season 2, Episode 10).” It can also be found on Investigation Discovery depending on one’s subscription. It is interesting but leaves so much out that this makes the case all the more difficult to analyze.

In November of 1980 in St. Joseph, Missouri, library worker Patricia Jeschke was found brutally murdered in her home. Psychiatric patient Sandra Hemme, who had just been discharged from the state hospital and was in the area at the time of the homicide, was charged and convicted of the murder. She confessed to the murder several times and was found guilty by a jury with just a few hours of deliberation.

The Innocence Project says not all is at seems, that the police and prosecution failed to do a proper job, ignored evidence pointing to a local cop, and railroaded a mentally unstable woman into prison where she remained for forty years. TA judge agreed with them and overturned her conviction. While she is now not incarcerated, her case is still being reviewed. At 64-years-old, she is believed to have served the longest known wrongful conviction of a woman in the US.

What happened in this case? Was there evidence pointing to Hemme? Or was there more evidence pointing to the police officer? Was this a true case of wrongful conviction or is the Innocence Project getting another guilty person out on a technicality.

I will be covering this case through the court documents which I prefer as I am more likely to get the facts and this is often how I find out the truth about how the Innocence Project gets someone freed.

The death of Kat West is a strange one. On Jan 12, 2018, 42-year-old Kat West was found at 5 AM lying dead across the street from her home in just a bra. She died of blunt force trauma to the head, her phone and an empty bottle of Absinthe on the ground next to her. Her husband Jeff West was convicted of reckless manslaughter and received a sentence of 16 years. His lawyers, all of their friends, his parents, and, interestingly, the victim's parents all believe he is innocent citing he has always been a great husband with no signs of anger of violence. They believe it was an accidental death due to Kat's bipolor issues and that she was heavily intoxicated.

Why did the jury find Jeff West guilty? Was it a small-minded town that was appalled by Kat's OnlyFans account and lifestyle? In fact, could it have been murder, after all, but one of the fans from her channel? What lies beneath the surface of this suburban family, married 15 years, and raising a 12-year-old daughter?

There are three shows on the case: one is on Peacock: "Autopsy: The Last Hours: The Mysterious Death of Kat West" Season 13 Episode 19. Another can be viewed on 48 hours which I saw via Paramount. It is Season 34 Episode 25 "The Mysterious Death of Kat West." Another show is "Final Moments" on Oxygen and the episode is Season 2 Episode 15 "Absinthe of Evidence."

I know they wanted me to say he was a lone wolf and that was allit was. But, I told them I could not say that as it is clear to me he had help achieving his goal of shooting Donald Trump. Who was making this assassination attempt possible? I would have to believe the Secret Service - someone high up at that location - called the shots…and allowed the shot.

In 1959, there was an Indian case in which the civilian jury verdict outraged the judge so much that he overturned their decision.

What led to all of this? Like the Karen Read trial, the public, egged on by the media, felt sympathy for the defendant and, ignoring the evidence, decided 8-1 to acquit him. He was retried with a two-judge bench trial and found guilty. Then, there is a bit of a surprise ending to this whole debacle.

What actually was the evidence in the Nanavati case? Was this a crime of passion when Navy Commander Kevas Manekshaw Nanavati shot his British wife Sylvia's lover Prem Ahuja? Was it self-defense or an accident? Or was it a premeditated homicide? Was there any justification for the all-male jury to find him Nanavati not guilty? What societal issues played a hand in the outcome of the trial? How did the media slant affect the jury?

This is a fascinating case and an interesting look at how emotions, culture and politics an affect a jury. Is three more to deciding a verdict than just objectively looking at the evidence? I will look at this case and others that had influences outside of the actual evidence: Karen Read, Casey Anthony, and OJ Simpson.

There is a great free YouTube series called "The Verdict: State Vs Nanavati." However, it is 70% Hindi and 30% English with no English subtitles, so unless you speak Hindi, probably not going to be easy to watch. There are also three famous Indian films made about the trial: "Yeh Rastey Hain Pyar (1963)," "Achanak (1973)," and "Rustom (2016)." Unfortunately, I couldn't find any copies of these films online that had English subtitles. But, no worries, I will acquaint you well with the love triangle, the crime, and everything that followed!

So, Deception Detective did a show on "How to Catch a Pyschopath" about Candus and Don Wells and their appearance on Dr. Phil with two of the Behavioral Panel "interviewing" them. During that show, Deception Detective listed "signs of a psychopath" to which the Behavior Panel came back and said that these were "horribly misleading and untrue."

I watched "The Perfect Wife" on Hulu, a three part documentary on Sherri Papini which is very fascinating. If you have Hulu, do watch it!
