In this lesson, you’ll learn jazz fusion guitar licks inspired by the smooth, sophisticated grooves of Donald Fagen and Steely Dan. These licks are perfect for jazz-rock fusion and explore a variety of scales including the diminished scale, minor pentatonic scale, and blues scale.
I break down the solo note-for-note, making it easy for you to learn and incorporate into your own playing. These fusion licks are highly versatile and can be applied to other songs, as the chord changes in the backing track are common jazz and fusion progressions.
The chord progression features altered chords, which allow us to use the altered scale in our lines—adding tension, color, and a true fusion sound to your solos.
