Jasmine Salinas is proving her breakthrough at Sonoma was no fluke.

Just five days after racing to the first final-round appearance of her NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series career, Salinas powered her Valley Services Top Fuel dragster to the provisional No. 1 qualifying position Friday at the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.

Her 3.794-second pass at 328.38 mph puts the second-generation driver in position for the first No. 1 qualifier of her career heading into Saturday's final qualifying sessions.
