Off a 2-inch quadruplex video reel is the only known COLOR footage of José Feliciano's famous rendition of the Star Spangled Banner from Game 5 of the World Series from October 7, 1968. Not only in my copy in color (all known copies are in black and white), but the audio is significantly clearer than what is out there. Tape Baking - 4 Hours vs. 24 Hours (Night Court Promo - 1989) RetroFreak84 2024-03-28 | A quick comparison showing a transfer I did of a 1-inch Type C promo reel for "Night Court" from 1989 that needed extensive baking. The top portion shows the video transfer after only 4 hours of baking, while the bottom shows the video transfer after 24 hours of baking. This was clearly recorded next to a radio speaker, so the quality isn't wonderful, and there's some commentary from the guy who was taping. This is the "Mother" portion of the show. The footage came from a Sony EIAJ reel I recently uncovered and digitized. I did some searching and as far as I know, no other recording of the film exists online, and I am unsure if it was shot in color or black and white. Obviously this recording came from a black and white machine. This is presumably a student film of a very experimental nature that came out of Alaska that was put together on Sony EV 1-Inch videotape (briefly lived format). I date it to the early 1970's. Unfortunately, once the credits start rolling, the tape ends, so I can't identify the creator. This was part of an eBay lot I purchased a while back...
