[ATC] Piper Cherokee Six YSBK flight and Pan Pan aeropianist 2017-12-17 | Come join us as we fly around Sydney in a Piper Cherokee Six with a 300hp IO-540. It was my club's last fly-in event for the year which saw us depart Bankstown, transit via Richmond military airspace, track via Hawkesbury River to Palm Beach and then along the coast to later cut across to Hornsby and back to YSBK for dinner. An exceptional turn out, we had 12 of our airplanes (plus other traffic) closely following each other and even though we were the fastest, we got stuck behind in between slower aircraft in a narrow restricted airspace corridor. Add a military aircraft real Pan Pan situation and we had to do whatever it takes to stay safe including approved deviations off track and flaps. It was THAT busy. All in all, a great afternoon of flying with friends :)

It was one of those windy rough days and our ship couldn't get into the port so they used tenders. Seas getting rough, not many passengers wanted to get wet so for this one I had the whole boat to myself!

Seriously though, trying to figure out how to get back to Bankstown from the mountains around the heavy rain. Made it easily yay, but a few minutes after I landed the visibility over the airport dropped below vfr. I was pretty relaxed though, I had plenty of fuel to go find somewhere dry and land.
10 Beaufort scale on a cruise ship in Pacific Ocean aeropianist 2015-11-15 | A quick video from a Seabourn cruise ship in the South Pacific. We hit 10 Beaufort winds, 55mph/90kmh (whole gale). Several ports in the area were closed and all the ships diverted to Auckland, New Zealand. Nasty weather lasted about 3 days, constantly getting 9-10 Beaufort. Not many people slept that night, barf bags everywhere naturally. Fun stuff :)

Cruise ship pitching and surprise dolphins aeropianist 2015-11-15 | While trying to capture some nice pitching movement on a cruise ship in the South Pacific, we encountered a school of dolphins that just popped up randomly out of nowhere. Made my day because my wife loves dolphins, and well, they're just awesome.
McDonalds Create Your Own Burger Review aeropianist 2015-04-27 | UPDATE: We've received a few abusive private messages that we took anywhere between '6 mins' to 'all day' before we tasted the food, therefore "of course it will be cold".The reality is: Food arrived on our table 16 and 11 minutes after orders placed. We tasted the fries 1 minute 45 secs after it was delivered and tried the burger 2 minutes 30 secs after the lady brought it. So today we decided to head out to McDonalds to try the new "Create Your Own Burger" campaign. It's still very new to Australia and only selected few stores have it here in Sydney. $15, 15 minutes from order to delivery, got barely warm medium-size fries with a half-cold burger. Ordering via self-thing machine/screen was fun though. Filmed with Sony Xperia Z2 phone. Overall rating: novelty/fun factor probably 10/10, it was nice to have the food delivered to our table with a lovely customer service. But sadly once you take a bite...it's still McDonalds, so somewhere around 6/10 is more like it. Would I do that again if I just wanted a quick meal? No thanks, mainly because of the waiting time of 15 mins. Maybe if the food was warm...

It was an encore after a joint recital of me and a mezzo-soprano visiting Australia. We mixed our pieces so she could have some rest between her numbers, hence a ton of sheet music on the piano. I've played many of the transcriptions from Horowitz, Volodos, etc but this is by far the most fun one! Now that the first public performance is done I can learn it properly hahaha (There's a reason I'm not putting it on my official channel but here instead..) To make it even more fun the air conditioning broke just before the concert and it's still stinky hot summer in Sydney, sweat all over the keyboard, things happen too quick to wipe it often enough! Piper Archer II VH-SFA arrival Bankstown Airport with ATC comms aeropianist 2014-06-20 | Arriving into Bankstown Airport in Piper Archer VH-SFA after a fun solo flight which was cut a little short due to deteriorating weather. I had to make a decision, either try fly more south and wait, hoping the low cloud and heavy showers would go away or try to beat them. Turned out to be a good decision as after I got closer to Bankstown more clouds came from south-west. In other words I'd be screwed haha.

Piper Warrior landing 15kts crosswind, gusty with nice crab going aeropianist 2014-06-06 | Had a few months break from flying so thought I'd practise some crosswind circuits. This is the first landing for the day, we had 15-18kts xwind component, not much turbulence but very gusty and unstable, the not so fun kind, bleh. Nice airspeed fluctuations on short final too! During the next landing we got a moderate undershoot windshear on very short final, but I won't include that due to bad language in the cockpit :P
Crosswind arrival to YSBK via TWRN aeropianist 2014-03-07 | Me arriving into Bankstown via 2RN radio tower mast, then joining crosswind Rwy 29R and cutting it short base as requested by tower, which caught us a little by surprise as we were still pretty high. Of course my luck, we had both crosswind and downwind/tailwind on final which again sent me floating down the runway. Expect the unexpected, when least expected.
