SCUBA diving with Hammerhead sharks and exploring the underwater ruins in Yonaguni, Okinawa pampigwo 2020-03-21 | I finally had the chance to dive the Yonaguni underwater monument and the hammerhead shark migration in Okinawa Japan. Yonaguni was always on my top 10 scuba diving locations and on my scuba diving bucket list. Most of the dives were drift dives so I would recommend that you're comfortable doing drift dives or get your drift dive and deep dive certifications before you go on that scuba diving trip. Yonaguni island is Japan's most Southwestern island and is part of the Ryukyu Island and is very close to Taiwan. Yonaguni is a very small island so I gave myself a full 24 hours before my flight back. You can rent a car and drive around the island and explore before you leave. The Yonaguni underwater ruins/monument is a must dive. So, if you go make sure to ask your dive company to go take you there. It's was an amazing dive experience. I will absolutely go again next year if I can and I highly recommend it if it's on your scuba diving bucket list. Technical Dive in Okinawa Japan. pampigwo 2022-05-08 | Tec Dive down 160 feet with the crew. This is an amazing dive site for technical divers. It goes deeper than 200 feet pretty quick. We dive with DPV to reach our objective. One diver is on the LibertyCCR, - close circuit rebreather - and the other scuba diver and I were on open circuit.

Tec Diving Sidemount on DVP in Itoman Okinawa Japan pampigwo 2021-07-13 | Technical Diving in sidemount and backmount twinset in Itoman Okinawa Japan. This was a boat dive with Ryukyu Archipelago Divers "RAD" in Itoman, the southern tip of the Okinawa island. We were all Tec Divers and had DPVs. I used my Blacktip Tec and all three of my dive buddies were on Piranha P2. This tec dive was a 150 feet Target operating depth. We covered a lot of grounds and saw some beautiful coral formations and lots of fish in the deep.
Technical dive decompression on coral reef pampigwo 2021-02-13 | Some technical divers may disagree with what's going on in this video but I think it's perfectly ok. This dive was done in Itoman Okinawa Japan. On that day after our technical dive, we had the luxury doing our decompression stops along a wall with beautiful coral reef and plenty of sealife to watch. Sometimes decompressing can be boring when just hanging on a deco station or a mooring line or a surface marker buoy line (SMB) and just staring into the blue. That day we spent a lot of time with some anemone fish, nudibranch and sea snakes and took some great photos. The sea conditions were perfect with no current and great underwater visibility.

Excellent trim and buoyancy is extremely important for every scuba divers and even more so for technical divers. USS Emmons 75th Memorial Dive pampigwo 2020-07-25 | This is the USS Emmons 75th Memorial Dive here in Okinawa Japan. The USS EMMONS is a US Navy Destroyer that was hit by 5 Japanese kamikaze aircraft during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II. The morning after the Japanese attack, another US Navy ship sunk the USS Emmons so that the disabled destroyer wouldn't fall in the hands of the enemy. Today you can dive this historic US Navy Shipwreck in Okinawa Japan. The USS Emmons wreck lays in about 140 feet (40m) of water off the coast of Kouri Jima (Kouri Island). Only a 20 to 25 minutes boat ride to the site of the wreck. To scuba dive the wreck you must be at least an advanced open water diver (AOW) and deep diver. This is also a great site for technical divers who wish to explore the wreck longer and do decompression dives. However, divers are not allowed to penetrate this shipwreck because it is considered an underwater burial site.
Giant Sponge Crab pampigwo 2020-02-06 | This is the type of amazing underwater creatures you can see during night diving in Okinawa Japan. This sponge crab was massive. That was the first time I've seen one that big. It was almost the size of a sea turtle! This video was taken during a night dive at Maeda point!
Diving the USS EMMONS Naval Shipwreck in Okinawa Japan pampigwo 2019-07-28 | Another wreck-dive on the USS Emmons here Okinawa. This time I tried my new Weefine underwater wide-angle wet lens that I got for my Olympus TG-5. I'm loving the results I got. I can never get enough of scuba diving this wreck. It's my go-to scuba diving site in Okinawa when I feel like doing a real deep dive. Today makes it the 6th time I dive this wreck. I hope I get the chance to dive it again sooner than later.

I always feel very fortunate to be able to dive and visit this piece of history laying down at the bottom of the ocean. Scuba diving in the Kerama Islands pampigwo 2018-11-01 | Back in the Kerama Islands, but this time at different dive spots. About an hour south of Okinawa Japan, the Kerama Islands is one of the world's best diving spots. Lots of reef sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, eels, and even whales during a certain time of the year. If you are a scuba diver the kerama islands should be on your bucket list.
Diving Odo Kaigan in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2018-10-29 | This was my first tie diving Odo Kaigan, or John Man Beach or commonly know as Channel Crevasses. Channel crevasses is a well-known dive spot in Itoman Okinawa Japan and one of the best scuba diving spots in on the island. Conditions were perfect and visibility was well over 80 feet. This dive site requires some experience and confidence. So I would highly recommend going with a group of divers who have been there before and are experienced. Make sure the sea condition are favorable before attempting to dive there. This scuba diving location is known for quick condition changes and strong currents.
Deep Dive with Sharks at The Toilet Bowl in Okinawa pampigwo 2018-09-03 | Another amazing day at The Toilet Bowl in Okinawa, Japan. These dives were towards our PADI Deep Diver certification. The Toilet Bowl in Okinawa Japan is one of the best dive spots on the island. Most of the time I dive at the Toilet Bowl I see those 3 sharks. Some other scuba divers identified them as Bull Sharks but I'm not sure of exactly what type of sharks they are. If you come to Okinawa to dive I would highly recommend diving at the toilet bowl.

Night Dive at the Birdcage, Sunabe Seawall, Okinawa Japan pampigwo 2018-07-27 | Night dive at the "birdcage" in Okinawa, Japan. This was my first time diving the sunabe seawall in Okinawa Japan at night. I've dove it many times before but during the day. Knowing the layout of the dive site made pretty easy for a night dive navigation wise. Know how to use your compass, use it and trust it. The birdcage is an easy dive site. Most beginners should be able to dive it safely.
Diving The Ginowan Ghost Wreck pampigwo 2018-07-02 | First time diving the Ginowan Ghost Wreck. Easy dive, about 30 minutes from the Marina in Mihama. The wreck is upside down about 40 - 50 feet deep. The Dive boat anchors right on top of it and you can go down right on top of it. You can explore the boat and the surroundings in only one dive. But if you are doing two dives take your time and look around you'll take some great pictures. I saw 4 stonefish one dive. I highly recommend diving that site, it's easy and fun.

The Keramas is one of the best dive spots in the world. With beautiful, colorful and coral reef. You can see sea turtles, sharks, eels and many other sea creatures. Diving Ala Villa Reefs in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2018-04-05 | First time diving this site called "Ala Villa Reefs" here in Okinawa. Easy dive, not too deep. The reef here is really beautiful and colorful. There are many fish and sea life to see. We saw a turtle and a little shark. There and some crevices and channels to swim trough, it's a fun dive. I recommend this site for beginner and advanced divers.

Visibility was almost perfect and the weather was excellent that day. We saw a turtle and a cuttlefish. If you ever visit Okinawa and you're a diver, I highly recommend these dive sites. They are easy and parking is steps away from the water entry.
Drift Dive at Kamiyama Island and Naha Jacks in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2017-12-13 | First-time drift diving. it's a blast since it's totally effortless. You just ride the ocean current and explore while you cover a lot of distance. Plus the convenience of the boat dropping you off and picking you up where ever you end the dive makes it much more fun. On this dive, the current on both dives was just perfect. I couldn't tell the speed but it wasn't too fast nor too slow. I was able to stop and take pictures and jump back in and stay with the group the entire dive. Ginowan Pinnacle and Ammo Dump Dive pampigwo 2017-12-07 | I did these dives as part of my EANx certification class. The weather was not the best but the dives were really fun. "The Ammo Dump" site was one of the many sites that exist around the island were there a lot of ordnance from the Battle of Okinawa still sitting at the bottom of the ocean. Most of these ammunitions are still unexploded and divers are not supposed to touch any of them.
Mermaids Grotto Dive on Veterans Day weekend 2017 pampigwo 2017-11-14 | On Veterans Day I dove the Mermaid's Grotto for the second time. The dive site was absolutely amazing today. The weather and visibility were excellent. The Mermaid's Grotto is a very fun dive site with lots of sea life to see. There are 2 white tip reef sharks that are always there sleeping during the day. Most divers know their home and they go look for them.
Diving the USS Emmons in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2017-10-19 | My first "Bucket List" dive "The USS Emmons", off of Kouri Jima, Okinawa Japan. On April 6, 1945, five kamikaze aircraft hit the high-speed minesweeper USS Emmons (DMS-22) in quick succession. The surviving crewmen soon abandoned the seriously damaged ship, and Emmons was intentionally sunk by another high-speed minesweeper in the early morning hours of April 7, 1945.

Diving The Deep Cubes in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2017-10-07 | This was my first time scuba diving on the East side of Okinawa Japan. We went out with Destiny Charters and they took us to this dive site called "The Deep Cubes". It was a fun and easy deep dive. The Okinawan government dropped these Cubes off about 30 years ago, in an attempt to grow an artificial reef to bring fish and sea life to the area and for the local fishermen. However, the fishermen never really liked to go there because their nets and lines were being caught on the cubes. So now, divers mainly go there to dives the cubes. Kinda feel like diving a wreck because you can swim through them. This dive is about 95 feet to the bottom of the ocean floor and around 80 feet at the top of the cubes. Diving at the Mermaids Grotto in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2017-09-09 | This was my first time diving the Mermaid's Grotto in Okinawa, Japan. Awesome site to dive, I will definitely dive it again. The topography down below offers a lot to explore. I saw a shark at 56 feet, some of the other divers saw a turtle. Just ensure you go with a diver that has done it before and is experienced.
Diving with a Shark in Okinawa, Japan pampigwo 2017-07-20 | This is a Boat Dive. The "Big Dream Hole" and "Mini Dream Hole" are not far from each other. They are located on the west side of the Manza Hotel in Okinawa Japan. You can see the hotel clearly from the boat. You can dive both locations in one day as 2 dives. The best way to go through the dream holes is from the bottom. The bottom of the big dream hole is at about 91 feet deep, you can't miss it. The Bottom of the mini dream hole is at about 53 -56 feet. Once you see the entrance make sure you have a dive flash light and look around carefully because sometimes there are a couple of sharks sleeping in there, so you don't want to startle them. The entrance is a sandy bottom so make sure you frog fin and don't pile up too many divers in there a kick up too much silt. It'll seem like a dead end but it is not. Go through the lower opening and you will see the way up. There are a lot of fish to see inside. Make sure you ascend slowly and looking up and around so you don't hit your head and equipment against the coral. I suggest you have an advanced open water certification with multilevel diving for the Big Dream Hole. Remember: "Always plan your dive and dive your plan."

This 2 dive chartered trip was pretty amazing. Cloudy Saturday morning, water temperature was 75 degrees at 73 feet and 77 at the surface. It was very windy so I had to layer up at the surface and in between dives. Visibility down below was great, about 30 + feet. Swim with GoPro Hero 3+ (Part 2) pampigwo 2014-11-09 | Some footage of my swimming progress. Here I have some swim training tools that I use to help me improve. I use the Finis freestyle swimmer paddles. It helps correct your hand position, entry and recovery. If you're doing the wrong thing with your hands you will know immediately when you train with those paddles. If you had bad habits with your stroke and hand position it will be hard to get used to at first. It also helps you to get a good back workout if you're doing strong pulls. I also use the Finis swimmer snorkel and kick board. It helps with my kick drills. I can keep my face down in the water and concentrate on my kicks, body position and still breathe. You can also use it while swimming different strokes to keep your head down in the water and concentrate on body position and stroke. I use the Swim Parachute to do resistance drills. Pistol Drills pampigwo 2013-09-23 | These are some drills that I do when I go to the range. Instead of going to the range and do ammo dumps like I see a lot of people do. I'll do one drill wit 6 to 10 rounds to warm up. Try these drills, they will challenge you and you will improve on your trigger pull and pistol shooting skills as a whole. Start at 3 yards, 5 yards and move up to 7 yards. When you get comfortable at 7 yards you can start adding time to make things harder and increase the challenge. You might get frustrated at first but keep on practicing and you'll get better. Most of the targets can be downloaded for free online all you have to do is make copies. The weapons I used in this video are my Kimber Ultra Raptor II and my Sig Sauer 1911 TacOps. Post video response to this video to show how good you did at these drills!! I did it at 15 feet distance and it was hard enough for me. The only bad thing is that the indoor range I go to does not let Shooters fire from the holster so all the drills that said "draw" I did from the "ready". Once I find an outdoor range that will allow me to shoot from the holster I will post another video. So try it out and post a video response to see how you do.

This range won't allow me to shoot from the holster but I found an outdoor Range that will so I'll post some more videos of me shooting from the holster. Triggerstripe Drill with Sig 1911 TacOps pampigwo 2013-06-08 | This is my first time trying this drill. It supposed to help you maintain a straight trigger pull to the rear. As you noticed my shots placements are not that great but no so bad at the same time since I never hit the white part of the target. This range would not let me do rapid fire neither shoot from a holster. But I will be practicing this drill with dry fire and post an update to show my improvement.

Wife shooting a 45 ACP for the first time pampigwo 2013-05-19 | That was her first time behind a weapon with live ammo and her first time firing the .45 ACP. She didn't quite like the recoil and her shot group was not a good as when she fired the 9mm earlier that day. Hopefully with practice she'll master this caliber in no time. The weapon used is Sig Sauer 1911 Tactical Operations.
Wifes first time shooting pampigwo 2013-05-15 | I took my wife shooting, that was her first time shooting live ammunition. She started at 5 yards then moved up to 10 yards. I was impressed with her shot group size as a first-time shooter. The weapon she shot is my Sig Sauer P226; 9mm. Due to the ammo shortage I taught her the basics of shootings with dry fire drills at home and also I used a BB gun (M&P Smith and Wesson) replica. Next time I post how she does at further distances and with different drills.
