Complexity, Expression, and the Will of the Wisps Sabre 2021-04-08 | I've been thinking a lot recently about why video games have been such a huge part of my life for so long, and I think the answer (or one of them) is that they're an opportunity for expression. If you've followed my exploits in smash or Rivals of Aether, you probably know that I love playing in ways that deviate from the norm. The fact that those games allow me to pursue a playstyle that matches my understanding of and interest in various elements of the game is a big part of why I can play those games for thousands of hours while I move on from most games after a single playthrough, but Ori and the Will of the Wisps caught my attention in the exact same way. ThundeRzReiGN vs Oracle - Another Legend Falls Sabre 2021-04-03 | This is a short video for a short set, but I can't make this series and not talk about game three. 4 stocking Oracle to make top 8 at Big Balc is such a picturesque moment in ThundeRz's career, taking a player notorious for pulling out a seemingly infinite number of counterpicks over the years and dismantling each new character worse than the one before. Darc vs The World - Supernova Doubles Sabre 2021-01-30 | If you know anything about me, you probably know I love doubles. It's by far my favorite competitive format, and Darc is one of the best doubles players out there for any smash game, ever. This tournament encapsulates why that is, from his ability to face off against the best players in the world while barely able to see, to carrying a melee player all the way to 1st place. I didn't have a chance to include it in the video, but Darc+Slox beat the 1st seeds, Seagull Joe and Junebug, and Slox found out AFTER beating them that he could pick up items by wavedashing over them. He never plays hyperlame and he keeps it hypertame so his opponents always get hypermaimed with his perfect hyperaim. Whenever he loses its a hypershame.
